Hey Chris & carol. I've been fallowing you for some time. I like to see deferent countries. but i must say. I've been in many countries but not Brazil. I'm ashamed to say that I never saw any pictures of Brazil except the Ipanema beach. Thanks for your vlogs. Now a little bit about my family . My grand parents from both sides immigrated to Brazil (Rio) in the 1880's from a small town in Portugal. They went back to Portugal in1905 with the kids . My mother and my father were born in Rio in 1901. In 1923 my father came to the US and my mother also came to the US in 1926. They new each other because there were from the same town. So. in 1928 my parents got married here in the US. But during the depression in 1932 my parents returned to Portugal where I was borne. In 1955 we all returned to the US when I was 18 where I've been living since and raised my family .. Now we are a United Nations family. My wife is Italian, my daughter married a good Greek guy and my son married a Beautiful Chinese girl and I we have two fantastic grandchildren ,So. I'm 85 now. What more can you ask?. Its a long story but I find it fascinating. Maybe a bit like yours? Keep showing me Brazil. Very interesting country.

Got my booking done a while ago. Oct.29th 2021 I'll go. (again). Been there this year already in May. Made it as far as Ilha Grande (have seen your videos from there as well.) Jet ski in Angras. Did you have the chance to visit Paraty? It's a colonial small town near Ilha Grande and Angra. It's not only beautiful but they also organise cultural festivals (literary, gastronomic and etc). Considering you'll be arriving at the end of October/November, you'll probably be on time to catch at least one of those festivals.

By car because it would allow me to be more spontaneous and flexible. Festivals and events sounds excellent! I'm always in for that! One thing I'll be also looking for this time is music. Maybe I can finally learn the Cuica! My favorite instrument! ;-))))) Again, thank you very much!!!
You could enjoy visiting Búzios and Arraial do Cabo, these two cities are almost 3 hours from Rio by car. The beaches are even more beautiful and Búzios is such a cozy place. If you go there, don't forget to take a boat trip, the view is unparalleled.
Arraial is definitely a must, the place with Caribbean level beaches in Rio 👌

Wow! What a nice silhouette of the mountain as backdrop while enjoying your late afternoon watching the sun set. It’s nice and refreshing to bike around the beach.. going back home and enjoy being on a vacation. Brazil is a beautiful country so vast for you to travel within and explore again

That is a great time to visit. Not overcrowded, not too rainy in this part of the country. Hope you can enjoy it here... Do your research, as there is much to see here out of the mainstream.

The good thing about beach vendors in Brazil is that they are not pushy like other countries. I would say nobody will bother you. Just say "obrigado" politely and they will leave immediately.
100% agree, they barely ever come up to you at all. They just walk by shouting what they are selling but they never get into your personal space.

Yeah copacabana or Ipanema would be the classic starting places to stay for foreigners 👍 we need to check out Paris, carols been quickly before but Chris has never been. Maybe next year who knows 😁

Rio de Janeiro é lindo (awesome, amazing and beautiful) e as imagens parecem CINEMA - grandes cenas e tomadas (que parecem verdadeiros cartões postais em movimento), feliz por acompanhar todos os videos. O Museu do Amanhã, entre tantos lugares incríveis, chama muito a atenção no Rio, a arquitetura é maravilhosa e interessantíssima. O Estádio do Maracanã é, também, impressionante. Aliás, TUDO é impressionante no Rio, construções arquitetônicas e a natureza.

Here in Rio, we have a tradition of applauding the sun, when we are watching the sunset on the rocks of Arpoador.
The sunset on Arpoador rocks is one of the most beautiful experiences you can have in your life!
Oh, and at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, at christmas time, every year a HUGE christmas tree is set up in the middle of the lake. It is the largest floating christmas tree in the world. It's very brightful, very beautiful.
In fact, the end of the year time here in Rio is spectacular! Both the New Year's Eve on Copacabana beach (the biggest fireworks display in the world, and the biggest New Year's Eve party in the world too, every year with millions of people celebrating New Year's Eve on the beach), the beautiful christmas tree in Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, the carnival "blocos" (street carnival parties and parades) that begin to take place in december and january. I really recommend people to visit Rio at this end of the year period, it's probably one of the best periods of the year to be here.

When I was in Rio there were 2 man police 250 Enduro style motorcyle teams that would patrol around Rio. The 2 police had solid grey military uniforms with minimal insignia, body armor, helmets, serious gloves and lots of other stuff. The driver had a compact automatic assault rifle across his back and the passenger held an assault rifle in his hands.
At the north of Copacabana beach there is a good cigar store about a 5 minute walk from the beach. The beach massage is okay and you can request coconut oil.
I didn't go swimming.
4:32 -> The lady beneath the flags....she's either praying of doing yoga.
18:37 ->That looks like the area where the locals set up an 'everybody welcome' weight lifting beach gym. Small to large circular tins cans filled with cement attached to metal bars, chin up and ab crunch. You sweat max if you participate. I did a couple of sessions with coconut water only and the 'rush' was nice.

There are many jobs for highly qualified foreigners in the oil field, for example, but many are disputed by Scandinavian citizens, Google Brasil almost every year opened vacancies for several positions for those who have fluent English, as many Brazilians are not fluent in English. Another area such as commerce and restaurant is more difficult, because to compete with Brazilians, you also need fluent Portuguese, as even multinational executives. who work in Brazil must have at least an average Portuguese language.
