    Are there other glasses friendly goggles on the market?
    The Cobra X and S are available at the below shops
    Banggood bit.ly/3nIuVjk

    Good to see Syzone making box goggles for boof heads that wear glasses. I bought their earlier GS500's and they were so narrow they were impossible to use. Might give these new ones a try.

    The module in these is the same module in the Skyzone 04X. I've seen comparisons between the Skyzone 04X and FatShark HD02 w/ Rapidfire but this is the first time I've seen these box goggles compared with the high end Orqa w/Rapidfire. Good review Nick.
    Being a glasses wearer these would be my choice if I was looking for sub $300 goggles and if one looks around the prices vary, Banggood had them at $184,49 using code BGCobrasx (coupon code has to be applied in shop’s cart after clicking “Proceed to checkout”).

  • @jawolllinger

    Other similar goggles? FatShark Scout: Around $200 box goggles with built in diversity (unfortunately internal patch only replaceable by modding the goggles... you can however switch the second antenna which is connected to a standard SMA connector) and a 60fps DVR (not Orca exclusive :) ). They also are powered by one 18650 cell, the screen has a 1136x640 resolution (little bit less than the cobra x) and a 50° FOV. Also unfortunately they don't have an HDMI in, so no SharkByte on the Scouts... Just regarding the specs the Cobra X seems better, but I have no idea as I still am an FPV newbie :)

    • @NickBurnsFPV

    • @robertp7209
      @robertp7209 4 года назад

      @@NickBurnsFPV -it’s because the filler foam is in place, needs to be removed. And the top and bottom pads form a seam there, unlike the Skyzone where the foam is gapped. The Skyzone looks somewhat of a copy of the slot design and overall shape and lenses. My plastic frame glasses are 5.25 inch across the front, and 1 3/8 tall, and loose in both directions. The width becomes about 5 7/8 inch at the arms, 2 inches out which is the depth of the slot. So is it also loose in the Skyzone. Let me know if you want me to measure anything for you or take a photo.

    Now in my 40’s, I NEED to wear a set of readers to even read my cell phone.. My single biggest complaint about this hobby is why don’t they make goggles so your glasses can be worn?? So many people need glasses these days.. I use a set of Skyzones 03x goggles. Other than switching to box goggles, is there anything I can do to help?? I am told that diopter inserts will not help me. My readers have to be 2.5 X for me to see good..
    That is the ONLY reason I have not invested in the DJI digital system. I don’t think glasses will fit under them..

    The latency is twice the ev300o with the same module, no idea how they achieved that with half the screens. They probably run the same hardware, after all. If it wasn't for that, I would've already ordered them. The EV800D is still a great goggle after two years of cruising and bruising my quads, but the FOV is just a little too wide for me to commit to the right hand moves, as I only have one working eye. I can't see the right hand side properly. I know manufacturers release firmwares to fix issues, but I'm still to see a goggle to get an update that fixes a latency without compromising something else . . which is why I'm sad they botched this one. I'd rather buy the DJI goggles and run analog signal through them, the difference is only 10ms to these on that kind of setup.

The fatshark scouts had fringing issues due to the mirror setup this one uses but nobody has mentioned it yet, so guess they figured that one out on these. It's not like the latency is 100ms but it's too obvious of an oversight, too 🤷‍♂️

      Have you held a radio in your hands? There is so many different sizes, the traditional radio would be the radiomaster TX16 series, then we have the smaller but still square of the radiomaster TX12, and last the gamepad style like the radiomaster zorro or the jumper t-lite. All of these come in at least two versions, a 4in1 version that has the ability to fly a host of different radio protocols, some better than others. Also an ELRS version. ELRS is an outstanding control protocol, but it does have more we have to do to ready the receivers for binding, its pretty straight forward after we have done it a few times, but its something to consider. I suggest doing some research on expresslrs and if the steps don't seem to bad I suggest that protocol.
