You were technically correct but it's usually just bronchoscopy. In her case, diagnostic, that's the cultures and biopsies. Anything they see in her airways that looks suspicious gets a swab or a pinch-the scope has a channel for tiny tools on wire to go through and collect samples. Then the lab looks for disease in those. It's not considered a dangerous procedure-in humans it's usually done just with sedation. But critters have to get the general and it does come with lingering effects. My mother was goofy for days anytime she had it. Leia actually seems to be recovering pretty well, still wants to murder her brother, holding her own until the diagnosis. I send good thoughts y'all's way every day.
I know that wasn't your intent, but the way you phrased it makes it sound as if you are a family of critters and that's why your mom had such a strong reaction to it 😂
Human nurse here. They probably took samples of the bronchial tissue. It's quite common for the doctors doing these procedures on humans to take samples because usually it's an awkward spot(lungs, stomach, bowels, etc.) and you don't want to repeat the procedure just to get a sample. So, while you're at it, it's usually a good idea to be as thorough as you can. Also, I'm in Europe, so I don't know about doctors elsewhere or indeed veterinarians.
Anesthesia is always so hard on animals. My cat reacts sooo badly to it. Like literally 3 days of some kind of semi neurological when he flops on the floor, his neck is fixated, he only wants to lie down and sleep. I showed him to the vet, gave him a few pain relief shots at how as the vet prescribed and it kinda helped, buy it's scary to watch regardless, so I feel you. Hopefully you do get a diagnosis soon.
My sweet, docile Maine Coon got a cyst removed and came home in a K-Hole 😂 He jumped a 3 ft door gate, sprinted around the house, and ended up hyperventilating and growling in between my bed and the wall. I was like "oh no, what's wrong with my sweet baby boy! Oh hey I wonder if..." I checked his report and yep, he got ketamine.
Thank you for updating all of us. She is a special girl and I’m sure everyone is praying for the best for her. I know I am and my fur babies are too. They love watching your huskies ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Aww poor Leia Buttt, I hope everything will turn out okay and that whatever the cough is, it’s something easily treatable. I just want to cuddle with her to make her feel better 🥰❤️
Awwww poor baby girl. She feels funny and woozy and doesn’t understand why. Feeling like that is no fun at all! Hopefully she feels better soon that you both get some good rest, and that her tests come back with answers and nothing seriously wrong! 🤞🏻🫶🏻
Lots of dogs “honk” when they get excited, you just have to help them calm down and relax and it goes away. But I’m very interested in her results, you are an amazing dog dad. Your videos make me smile.
Awww baby girl! I react the same as Leia. Oftentimes after procedures or surgeries I just find myself sobbing. For no reason. I have EDS which means I generally need more anesthesia than most and it just kicks my butt emotionally. Hopefully once the meds fully get out of her system she'll feel better. Sending ya'll lots of love and support.💐
Awwww. Poor pretty girl. She definitely looks like she doesn’t feel 100%. I wonder if she has weird dreams coming out of anaesthetic & that’s why she didn’t want to sleep last night. I hope she has something easily treated. My little fur boy developed breathing issues in the last 4 yrs of his life, so bad that I worried about him every day & significantly cut back on his walking. And I was terrified when he had to have surgery on his tail for a tumour. But he got through that fine & kept on keeping on for at least 4 yrs after he developed the issues & was nearly 15 when he went to the great big dog park in the sky. So I hope they can, but even if they can’t treat it, I hope it doesn’t slow her down at all - except maybe a little in the Archer murdering department 🤔💕🐶🐶 Love & tummy rubs to you all from Australia
Poor poochie! I hope the results come back with good news. They’re all so lucky they have a daddy who loves them so much! Please give her a kiss on the snoot for me. ❤
My dog also gets anxiety and whines after anesthesia. Luckily she at sleeps through it but i know that feeling about wanting to let you're dog know it's ok and they're safe and not knowing how to get them to understand. You're a good dad for being there for her. Give her a scritch behind the ear for me.
Poor sweet Leia. I know these things are hard and I’ll pray everything comes back with good results and a treatment plan to make her feel her old self again!! I love the Derpskies and look forward to your videos every day. I want a husky so bad but we’re not allowed to have their breed in our apartment complex (why I don’t know🤪) so I live my “having huskies” through your channel!! Good vibes to you guys. All will be well!!
Hugs for Leia, poor baby. ❤ Hopefully the vet will be able to ID what's cauaimg her cough and how to treat it. Archer's probably relieved that his sister will try to murder him less if she's napping off the anesthesia. 😊
Glad to hear she’s at least doing OK for now and hopefully the test results will shed some light on how to get her back to 100%. Also, congrats on hitting over 100,000 subscribers before the end of September! Can’t wait to see that plaque over Leia’s dog bed
I hope she feels better soon and if it had to be *something* I'm going to include y'all in my prayers that it is the absolute least amount of negative possible. Who knows? Maybe this is just a sign she's getting super powers and you'll have to buy a cape and costume for her to became SUPER LEIA! 😊🦸♀️ One pet parent to another, 🫂 & 🙏, you are not alone!
Every animal reaction is different. I was told Ashes would probably just sleep and be mellow after his dental surgery, but oh no. Man leaps straight into air after his out of his carrier and ran around a bit, possibly to run out of the cone he was in to protect his stitches from his pulled teeth. He didn't cry in the night, but apparently couldn't back up because he did pace in circulatory fashion and whenever he would bump into a wall, he would just scrap the cone across it. I got a couple of hours because he did eventually calm down enough to loaf. But it is good to hear she still trying to kill her bother. She wasn't going to let keep her down
This man has to make the hard choice of putting his dog under general anesthesia just so she can't hear him ask his vet when will he be able to sing ducktales again in his own home.
Sweet girl. Receiving anesthetic is always stressful for the patient and the family. I would presume they would check for TB (tuberculosis)... there is something that makes me wonder if she may have tb, which is contagious to humans... but can also be extrapulmonary and effect the bones in some cases. I hope its something much less serious and something easy to treat and hopefully cure and stop all her symptoms.
My Shane has mouth cancer...discovered Thursday...I'm scrambling to get someone to remove the growth and work towards a treatment plan...flew a sign to make money...
Next time, if there is a next time, the doctors can give you Vallium, Please excuse if I mispelled that spell check wants to change it to volume. I had to use it on my dog once and it really helped. Bless you all.
ouch poor Leia is all confused. "I feel so weird daddy, I don't understand why.."- Leia Edit: Have you had Leia's heart examined? If she is coughing after physical exercise then she might have a heart murmur. Basicly her heart is beating slightly slower than usual and this causes fluid buildup in the lungs that gets coughed up. One of our Airedales had one.
Not a vet but doing my PhD in medical science and taking cultures and biopsies seems like a normal thing to do so I wouldn't stress about it. Either way give both of them pets from me as well!
If she ever needs anesthesia again maybe they could prescribe something for her anxiety to help her (and you) through those couple of tough days and nights. If you already know that’s her reaction docs will probably be willing to help avoid it.
I wonder if anesthesia makes her hallucinate. I had that happen once. You'd never be able to tell with a dog, but maybe that's why she gets so anxious. Or maybe, she just wanted to ruin your night like you ruined her day. Yeah. Probably that one...
Hey she still wants to beat up Archer, that’s a sign she’s still herself 😂😂❤

She’s so groggy and eepy, poor Leia, that procedure really got to her! Hopefully they’ll figure out what’s wrong so it can be fixed asap! ❤
I'm glad she is doing ok. Hopefully, they will find out what it is and get her better.
Big hugs and ear scratches from across the pond 💕💕💕
Poor poochie! I hope the results come back with good news. They’re all so lucky they have a daddy who loves them so much! Please give her a kiss on the snoot for me. ❤
Poor darlin', dogs are such a blessing. Get well soon sweetheart ❤
All the best to you, Leia, and Archer, who I'm sure is being a patient pup while Leia's having her diagnosis worked out.
Look after those wonderful dogs of yours!
She needs more hugs and kisses.

I really hope she feels better soon!
Hope Leia is back to normal soon, and ready to go bananas over ferret encounters . . .
Hope Leia gets a clear and positive diagnosis 😌😌
Ok, that's weird.. I also slept only 2,5 hours last night😅
Get well soon sweet baby🍀💗

Aw poor Leia anxiety sucks
Hope they figure it out,
because Leia is just absolutely beautiful and delightful.
(Don't tell Archer,
although I think he's funny and handsome.)
Leia's got a brave girl bracelet.
If she ever stop wanting to murder Archer *then* I'll really be worried !

He's currently showing no signs of regrowth after removal
Drugged Up Puppies whine because *_They Don't Understand The Things_*
I never know whether to laugh or cry about it, but it's adorable.
One of my cats had a similar reaction to having to be under for an exam. He didn't settle down or sleep for almost 48 hours and it was SO stressful. 😢
Thinking of you. I know too well the anxiety a pet parent goes thru.
Something immensely funny about the text saying October 7th and the emoji saying July 17th
Poor Leia butt ❤

Will she sleep in the bed with you? Did the CBD. help her? I hope she is feeling 100%, and that everything comes out ok.

You love them well. Bless you.
The biopsy is a tiny bit of lung tissue and they will also check to see what if any bacteria are growing in there (cultures)
Good luck
