How rhythm can heal a faulty golf-swing, and The era of swinging hard and fast. He then makes learning the concept of tempo, timing and rhythm linear by highlighting various instructional concepts:
The nature of golf and how golf is "what the ball does" Understanding the correct process to hitting quality shots The value of Timing The boundaries for Swing Positions, Sequencing, Timing and Tempo The Effortless Swing and what it should feel like Speed vs Effort Understanding ones natural cadence, and How naturalness trumps manipulation. Jonathan also shares tips and drills on how you can understand and improve your swing rhythm, tempo and timing for more consistent golf-shots.

    Thank you Mark and Jonathan!
As a golf professional of over 30 years, I find this some of the most interesting and impressive content ever. No nonsense.
Jonathan has the keen sense to really get to the heart of the matter when it comes to golf.
I need to (and will) apply a lot of this pure gold to my own game. Quite extraordinary!

Not just his swing, he has the smoothest voice I've ever heard.

Just a tidbit of what I've found that significantly improved my tempo/smoothness. You always hear stay loose, don't be static before you start your swing. But how? My method is a right to left repeating step that's the same every time which dictates the feel for the entire swing. To break down mine to give you an example. Once my club is aligned, I look down stepping forward with my left foot then back with my right to build my stance. As soon as my back foot is set, I look at the target and continue my steps (pressure) to the front then back, front, back, front twice (loading-this is when I look back down ) then throw my momentum (club) back for whattever the shot dictates (i.e backswing length) feeling like I'm transitioning back towards the target just before my ideal backswing length planting, rotating and releasing.
Sry, kinda wrote this for myself 😅 Hopefully it helps someone cheat the tempo/timing code like I have 😊
It works brilliantly for distance Wedges and I even use a miniature version of it for chipping.

Sam Snead once said something about this topic. Paraphrasing, he said he started out with solid setup principles and after that the main things he always worked on were rhythm and tempo.

Just started playing recently, but I completely agree. I just focus on my setup and grip and alignment. Then I focus on transition and tempo.

my new mantra: with RHYTHM and TEMPO let it GO.

Watched a Pete Thompson video about taking Gary Wolstenholme to +5. Hitting in my net with new mantra, it felt easy, fluid yet very powerful. I think, well at least for myself for it to work, so i dont have to, and just let it go, is removing that little destructive vowel we place before the word.
When e kicks in effort becomes the norm tempo, timing and sequence dissappear instead of the ball.

This is meant to be constructive….. Mark should watch Dan Patrick or listen to his interviews. Dan has also spoken about this….Dan asks quick questions that are open ended and listens. Every interview Mark does, he spends more time talking than his guests.
