Hartung Family Farms is a farming operation out of Jackson and Clinton County Iowa, with our main farm located in Preston Iowa. We have around 2400 acres of corn, soybeans, alfalfa, rye, and oats as well as around 750 head of cattle. We have a wide range of International equipment from small tractors from the 1970s to newer large farm tractors!
The contents and opinions displayed on this channel are my opinions and do not represent the opinions of John Deere and Deere and Company
you should add fence row nozzles on the sprayer, with a seperate switch, then you can kill the edges of the fields better
Ron I seen you had some Cornelius Seed corn. Have you planted it in the past? Just curious. I've never heard of it before in MN but the wild Turkey federation had some this year for food plots.
I really enjoyed this video cause it was longer and informative of your work day and please continue with these videos and just a reminder that show some of your family around the farm
Thank you! Will do!
Awesome drone footage!!
Thanks 👍
That Cat's a beast!!
Yeah it is!
Have you considered pasturing the wheat during the winter months?
Sure have! If we ever expand our acreage of wheat, we’d plant it in areas where the cows could go
I work at Franzen family tractors you probably have heard of them being in Jackson county but I live in jones county and haven’t ever heard of anyone planting 15 inch rows so this is pretty cool to see
Sure have, not too far away!
You work for JD at your day job but run Case equipment? Can you explain that please…
I know guys in western Kansas that do 15" or 20" corn for silage.
I know a couple guys that do 22" corn they like it. But I know a couple other's that went back to 30" a couple years after they tried it as well.
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO Ron😊
"atrazine and 2-4-D, your complete weed control program"" heard those adds on grandads radio growing up. still use atrazine on the garden. it saves a huge amount of hoeing and weeding.
Works pretty well as long as you don't over use it
Looks like both 340's are on the job.
Atrazine has been used for a long time I used it back in the late 70s
On the Larson farm video they were talking about lights that light up the whole farm field and they'll give you a discount code to look it up on the internet and order it for yourself but since you guys are so busy I'll have to go look for it for you
I was top Ron to run to sweeps into the side not where it stops it from creeping into the field
Great video Ron
Thanks 👍
12:34 is that yer errrmmmm FREEEDOOM BURM ???
the ''lead catcher'' behind the ''aim here divices'' ??? LOL or just a dam with a crappy pond on the other end?? eh
❤
Do you have a 15 " row head to pick your corn with
Surprise there!
Why don't you put boxes on tender and leave it in the field
TBH, planning, we really don't know where we are going to go next a lot of times and I am working on something that's going to change that
I hope you WHEEEEEAT is like CHEST HIGH by JULY !!! :) well VERY VERY VERY TALL !!!!! (ti give you much much straw/bailes) !!! :)
STAND TALL AND DO NOT FALL !!! :)
So inefficient only putting one pro box in at a time
