      I have been a fan of John's since "Sadie the cleaning lady" and "Raindrops keep falling on my head".
      John is best served LIVE, so please react to "You're The Voice", use the Live version with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. The energy is 20 times greater. While you are at it, check out "Its a long way to the top" same concert.

      As most people will tell you, John is best when he performs live. Any of the performances with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra are excellent, especially "Help" and the anthemic "You're the Voice". He also is so up tempo and energetic with the pop hit "Playing to Win". You did mention Little River Band days, and his version of "Reminiscing" live blows me away (a more up-beat vibe than Glenn's original, but still so much fun). The ballad "When the War is Over" live moves me every time, as does his duet with Olivia Newton John, "Please Don't Ask Me" from the Main Event tour. He also does a hilarious operatic duet with Australia's Phantom of the Opera, Anthony Warlow, called "Granada". For his Motown flavour, check him out with Aussie band Human Nature and "Every Time You Cry" and "Who's Loving You". For more rock, definitely check out "It's a Long Way to the Top" which he belts out, and his version of Led Zepplin's "Black Dog" will blow your mind and your socks off. It's a killer track. He also did a duet with Ray Charles which you might be able to find. Honestly, there are no bad live performances. If you want a final song that's more musical theatre, he did perform in Jesus Christ Superstar many moons ago, and his version of "Gethsemane" brings you goose bumps. Have fun, and thanks for showing an interest in our musical legend!

    You know what Torben? I'm in my 50's and I have listened to Johns performances live, on vinyl and now on You Tube 1000's of times.... and I NEVER get sick of hearing this man sing.... or his back up singers.... literally in the last year I have listened to his version of The Beatles 'Help' with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, hundreds of times, on reaction channels... and I cry every time.....

      Agreed mate. Except for 50's, got a few years to catch you, also very jealous of anyone that saw him live. I'd trade in the ones I've seen for that MSO gig. I've seen the stones, MJ and a few other iconic artists n bands but Farnesy is the best.

      @@westy4973 me too. Am in the UK. Am 79, watch all John's RUclips concert clips every single day. Only fully discovered him a few months ago so I've been having a ball since! I believe his last performance was for charity, February 2020, just before covid lockdowns. He was still belting it out then - he's now 74. . I post comments on other channels whenever I can just to get John's name out there in the hope others will discover him and enjoy his music. (there isn't one track that I don't love). His family, and he, now say he is cancer free - all we fans are so relieved to hear such wonderful news - stay well, John. Perform in public again? We'd all love that, wouldn't we? . 17.10.23. UK. E ❤

    John was so highly regarded professionally that he was at the head of the list to front Queen after Freddy sadly passed away. I have heard reasons for his refusing their offer, such as he didn’t want to tour internationally and that he wanted to stay local to be with his family, but I am in no place to confirm that. My favourite song is A Touch of Paradise.

You REALLY should listen to John doing an AC/DC cover ‘It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll’ live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. It’s something to behold!🦘🇦🇺

He makes me proud to be an Aussie and he will be forever remembered as our greatest singer. It’s incredible that his talent is finally being discovered & appreciated thru Music Reactions on RUclips 👌

    Only way to react to John is live performances all the way. So much passion and emotion in every performance and his wonderful personality comes shining through and great interaction with the crowds. Born in the UK 🇬🇧 made in Australia 🇦🇺 loved❤ around the world one of 5he best singers on the planet. Easy to see why Queen asked him to be their front man after Freddie pasted away. He can sing anything. Thanks Torben great reaction. Been a fan since early 80s. Yes was true about the mic being taped to the floor John talked about it in an interview, John is such an entertainer, no one sticks John Farnham to the stage or in a corner. 🇬🇧 Farnsy Fan can't wait to see the Documentary when it comes out on DVD 🇬🇧

    FINALLY a non-Australian reactor who KNOWS his stuff on Farnsey (John Farnham) & Barnsey (I assume) Jimmy Barnes & his band Cold Chisel. The two are phenomenonal together & Cold Chisel remains the best selling band in Australia (of all time) Very much like John Farnhams best selling album of all time that will never change.
    Barnsey (Jimmy Barnes) is still going, with ripper chords which I think heavy drinking back in the day has slightly changed. But still ripping it up.
    Looking fwd tosome reactions from his live performances "help" with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra & "Your the Voice".
    "When Something is wrong with my baby" live with Farnsey & Barnsey too

It's obvious that you are also a genuine fan who appreciates John's amazing on point performance, not to mention his interaction with 'us his audience'. He certainly fills my heart with joy and always brings a smile to my face, even on a not so good day. I hope you will do more reactions to John and also other Australian artists such as Jimmy Barnes, Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Delta Goodrem, Matt Corby, Tina Arena, etc 🌝💓🌝

    John is the best male vocalist of all time. You need to look more into John’s amazing music. From the early days, to the LRB day, the 80’s and 90’s and even further on. John’s incredible vocal range is simply amazing, mic technique, performance and fan interaction and the love for the music and his fellow band members. Anything from John is epic. Some suggestions are with Melbourne symphony orchestra, every song was awesome from that show, “let me out”, “chain reaction “, many duets like with Olivia newton john, “you’ll never walk alone” from Melbourne carols by candlelight, early performance of “bridge over troubled water” and the list goes on. But always do the live versions where possible.

    Hi Torben, in case you don’t already know, the guitarist in black singlet with white pants is Wayne Nelson. He’s from the USA and was with LRB when John was there. He obviously liked what he saw and came to Aust. to play with John. I’m sure he wasn’t one of those who taped John’s microphone to the floor! 😂 All the best and thanks for your great support!

  • @karenstrong8887
    @karenstrong8887 Год назад +7

    LRB taped his microphone stand down. Then they got the sound guys to shorten his microphone cords. They are petty and stupid. John has never put himself above anyone else on the stage or off. John cannot keep still if he tried, it is a part of him and they were nasty snobs that I have refused to listen to since then. Thank you.

    • @ladymanners618
      @ladymanners618 Год назад

      I wasn't aware of that, thank you for enlightening me. It does sound as though the LRB song writer and John understood and enjoyed each others' company and insights, as well as the ongoing financial rewards of a well received song or two. I'm glad that someone, it seems, had an ego that allowed room for greater & lesser talents.

    • @MandyRRAh
      @MandyRRAh 11 месяцев назад

      Don't deprive yourself of great music, Karen, please. Graeham Goble wrote "Please Don't Ask Me" for John and produced the wonderful album "Uncovered" for him. Goble seems like an odd gentleman, but he and John have lots of really appreciative things to say about each other. The original LRB is wonderful, as was the version with John, and whoever is touring the USA under that name is not really LRB. Glenn, Beeb and Graeham have toured here under their surnames because someone else has the rights to the name Little River Band.
