If one watches this movie closely, notice that the camera angle was mostly focused on the height of Bachahan. Hrishikesh Mukherjee's second film with Bachahan, the first one was Anand. After Namak Haram, Bachchan was Hrishikesh's favorite actor. But credits go to Prakash Mehra and Salim-Javed who made Bachchan the "Angry Young Man".

Rajesh khanna was very arrogant and head weighted, as per his co-stars and other people from film fraternity. Amitabh on the other hand remained very humble all his life and even continuing until now. One of the reason while when Amitabh plunged into bankruptcy and he stood up and came right on top again. This movie was a era of borders of superstars Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. After this movie Amitabh was going higher and higher and Rajesh khanna was going down as superstars.
Mr.Rajesh Patel, RK relied upon Hrishikesh Mukherjee bliendly and didn't know what length of role and number of scenes given to AB.
RK was doing dozens of films that time and had no idea what was happening with him.
It was planned and plotted to down RK as he reached "Super stardom" in just 3 years which no other actors prior to him could achieve even after 15 years.
RK was already a Superstar then and AB was a underdog then.
RK's abilities as an actor was already known to audience but AB's talent was unknown. So with a length of role and more screen space overall in d film brought him into d limelight. This is not to take away any credit away from AB.
In one of his interviews, AB confessed that he was like a man without any eyes until he got "Namakharaam "(1973).
and by doing this film ,he got one eye by having a number of scenes with a superstar like RK and another eye from a renowned director like Hrishikesh Mukherjee.

Incidentally both these are the only films where they came together. Every time I see these movies my eyes brim with tears. Heartfelt gratitude and salute to the creators of these two jewels.🙏
