I RMA'd my 13900KF and got a refund. Bought a 14900KS on a sale and wound up with only paying 15$ out of pocket for the KS. Couldn't be happier with the KS and it's IMC is able to do DDR5 8000 cl 36 on 4 DIMM Aorus Master X board. I threw a 2nd RAM kit in for STALKER 2 and same board/14900KS runs the 4 sticks at 6800 mt cl34. Needless to say, I'm impressed with this chip and so glad I did the RMA and upgrade. All the negative press only forced Intel to really lock down K series chips in the voltage department now. The new Core Ultra chips are now bios locked for extended voltages unless running LN2 temps.
I think the way Intel have been treating customers this year has been shocking, its a poor reflection of such an iconic brand. moved to AMD recently myself
i am still unsure of what to buy this year, i love intel and always used them but its been hard to ignore all the issues across my favourite channels lately
I priced this out and I got different figures than you mat, its still good however, the extended warranty options would make me move to a system builder going forward
Shucks, I was hoping this would be leo delving into the current status of the processors. I like mats reviews of peripherals and stuff though- not being rude !
Leo, why are you not reviewing the processors? I know you were waiting a while, but its been ages since the launch - it would be good advice now to give people an idea of the platform
Wonder if these processors will last the distance, cause my last 2 intel processors didn't. Lost a fortune and moved to AMD, so far so good, touch wood
@@ThomasStout861 as a few people have said I think Leo is waiting on Intel updates but it’s clearly already in a state to review it now. Also I think Leo is likely off work lately he doesn’t do so much here.
Any chance of leo doing the cpu reviews with the current driver updates. He just left them after the poor launch. I still want to know if they are worth buying and I dont trust many RUclipsrs
I stopped building my own systems 2 years ago - 1, for a lack of time, and 2, I want a 3 year warranty and to know if the system stops working I can make a call and the company involved sort it
This system looks pretty good to me and performs well, dont know why leo isnt testing his CPUs at this point, even to offer buying advice for system builders
Been looking forward to seeing an actual PC based on one of these rather than the previews of the chips. Interesting stuff indeed seems like they really have pulled of a decent optimisation getting more bang per watt buck
Mat seemed honest about it - I like how you dont take percentages of sales, once I see that,. there is no reason for the reviewer to be honest as anything negative drops their sales figures
And are these worth buying? Core Ultra was flaky on launch - I had hoped you guys might follow up with analysis of end of year performance as it stands.
If PCS create something like this for similar money with a 9800X3D then I might be interested to get extended warranty terms - I will go check their website
@CatherineMitchell-br8dx Exactly and this is why I love watching and reading things from these guys, as AMD pays most of the reviewers. But these are the ones who convinced me to go ahead and purchase the 12600k on release as everyone else especially hardware unboxed showed it gave less performance but Kitguru results were identical to what I received 💪
I have seen at least one posting where they had a benefit with CU-DIMM memory for the Ultra Core processors from Intel. Would have been interesting if they offered such. Intel was suppose to have another news release about NOW if not BEFORE on what happened from their investigations and how they will approach the problems with performance. I do feel that some newer firmware for Motherboard’s and also Windows should help as well. Takes time to address the issues and then get the codes developed, tested and out to the various manufacturers. My 2 cents, we’re all in a wait and see. Next GPU’s, Intel Arc, NVIDA series 50, and other flavors from AMD Radeon!
@Majeskty The only benefit from CUDIMM modules is if the on-DIMM clock manager allows your system to run the memory faster than it can run a standard DIMM. If the mobo and cpu will hit your target speed on the memory then CUDIMM will offer no performance boost, it is not any kind of magic bullet for Arrow Lake.
I have never built an AMD system, I’ve been rocking with Intel DIY since Skylake, and had a PC with Pentium and 286/486 and Core Duo before. But until Intel gets its sh*t together I’m done with them. No arrow lake for me. We don’t even know if the next Lake will be supported on z890. My next build will likely be a small form factor zenx3d.
I can vouch for PCS - they make some good systems and have good customer care, its why they do well, I had a problem with my cooler and they picked it up and replaced the cooler and its great
Really dropped the ball on this one imo. We should have had cpu reviews long ago from Leo. If the reviews come out march no one will care at that point.
PCS are great, good service. my bro has one of their systems and its great. I know its common to see people bashing prebuilts, but for a lot of people they make sense
wow wasn’t expecting to see this before Leo gave his verdict on the core ultras. Intel are selling them. Been a few months. Is the situation any better now ? PCs seem to have sorted them. 😮
I think to get long term warranty with the system working , its crticial now, its why I didnt build my last system after my intel CPU failed in 9 months I had no support from anyone and lost £500
Leo hasn't gone anywhere. I'm Mat - I've been here for almost 3 years now 😆Leo is still waiting for updated information regarding the processors specifically, so we don't have anything new to share with you yet :)
They are a good company I would recommend them a lot if you want good support. They are a strong brand and do well - even in the downturn, so you are guarateed to get some good support
It's expensive, not ridiculously so but still the barrier to entry for decent PC gaming is about 5 times a PS5 gaming console. Going to need a bit of klarna for that.
if it doesnt start a game (newly released game - not because game is not finished) then its an automatic no no - shouldn't be advertised or sold in the first place to be honest at any price
I thought that Intel guy on a podcast said very confidently that they had patches and BIOS updates coming end of Nov to first Week Dec. Did I miss the news? I have a million tech channels in my feeds.
Its a pretty good looking system but I cant help feel that Intel are on the way out. its not like its a bad system, but so much has went on in the last year
good they didnt cut corners with the fans and some of the hardware selection is very good, would never buy a prebuilt system, i love building my own - but would go for AMD every time now
Please report any spam you see, its an ongoing issue - let us know in the comments if you have bought a new Intel processor this year and your views on the whole deal around Intel lately.

That list of issues 10:49 is absolutely insane - just wow

i am still unsure of what to buy this year, i love intel and always used them but its been hard to ignore all the issues across my favourite channels lately
You love Intel? Intel doesn't love you back. Brand loyalty is overrated.
Leo give us an update - want to know if the situation is any better now - been quite a few updates and fixes since your launch piece
Quite impressed by their cable management.
I priced this out and I got different figures than you mat, its still good however, the extended warranty options would make me move to a system builder going forward
any updates on the new intel processors and how they are performing yet?
Well at least you had only one game crash, I think - any other issues?
I like how they have included an extra 3 fans, good move for RMAs too, will keep temps down a lot
Excellent , well done mat - nice review
Thanks. Glad you liked it
Great review Mat, never seen you before here
Thanks. I’ve been here a few years now 👍🏻
PC Specialists' pricing doesn't look too shabby at all. I'd probably change out every choice of component though! Best wishes for the season matey.
Good job there mat. Nice to see some intel cpu coverage even if it’s in a pre built
Thanks!
Leo needs to review the processors - been waiting for ages now, surely things are better
I think its been the year of AMD - they are so far ahead in all sectors, its unbelievable really
Shucks, I was hoping this would be leo delving into the current status of the processors. I like mats reviews of peripherals and stuff though- not being rude !
Thanks! We’re still waiting on updates ourselves. Leo will be delving in to it all when we know more
Mat
Really nice build this. Would have switched the LCD pump cap rather than the corsair logo.
Leo, why are you not reviewing the processors? I know you were waiting a while, but its been ages since the launch - it would be good advice now to give people an idea of the platform
We are still waiting on updates ourselves. As soon as we have more information, Leo will update you all
Mat
But you just reviewed a system using one and it seemed fine. 🤨
Lol funny seeing a cyberpower ad in a video for a PCspecialist PC ! nice move cyberpower !
Wonder if these processors will last the distance, cause my last 2 intel processors didn't. Lost a fortune and moved to AMD, so far so good, touch wood
Nice to finally see a bit of a review of this platform. Why are we seeing it in a production machine and not on the bench?
@@ThomasStout861 as a few people have said I think Leo is waiting on Intel updates but it’s clearly already in a state to review it now. Also I think Leo is likely off work lately he doesn’t do so much here.
Some love for PCS going on
This platform has potential.

PC specialist make some really nice stuff - good selection of components, nice cooling setup fairly neat cabling.
They will be happy to hear that.
Usually I would have preferred a white case but it’s not actually bad with the RGB.
This system looks pretty good to me and performs well, dont know why leo isnt testing his CPUs at this point, even to offer buying advice for system builders
Was waiting for leos full review of the processors, is he still waiting around for updates?
Yes. We’re still awaiting updates on the situation ourselves
Mat
Leo is the boss. He pops in from time to time now and has taken more of a back seat. Mat is doing more of these I’ve noticed.
Been looking forward to seeing an actual PC based on one of these rather than the previews of the chips. Interesting stuff indeed seems like they really have pulled of a decent optimisation getting more bang per watt buck
Yeah as we didnt get leos verdict or any updates from him, its all we got I guess from Kitguru.
You should have looked at the AMD Ryzen X3D systems
Is that the only game you couldnt get to work Mat? All the others were stable enough?
Yes. That was the only issue I encountered during testing
The only real issue I encountered with the system was Space Marine 2 failing to launch
Mat
Been waiting on Leos reviews of these for weeks now. any ETA?
Not really yet, we are waiting on some big fixes which are meant to be coming soon
Pretty good review. I wonder how many games are causing issues as you say. How many did you try ?
The games listed in the review plus the one that didn’t launch
Mat
"I used to be an Intel fanboy, until I took an arrow to the socket"
Waiting on Leo’s reviews now for what seems like forever 😢
At least with all the blingy hardware you can turn the RGB off. I really am getting sick of RGB, might run a system with a solid low glow single color
Yes most times you can just switch it all off if you want.
If PCS create something like this for similar money with a 9800X3D then I might be interested to get extended warranty terms - I will go check their website
Glad you mentioned the power and temps - a lot of reviewers skip that!
Wonder how much extra performance is going to be unlocked via OS and BIOS updates.
Not enough 😂
It’s a nice system for a pretty standard goldfish bowl type case.
Performance is ok, but its not much ofe forward over previous gen at all a mov
Glad power consumption is finally coming down on CPUs. Just wish GPUs would do the same.
Cant believe you’re getting BSOD while installing a game. Are we back in 1995 or something?

@@wctgttm Thanks for the reply and information!

its crazy to me, that i bought the 265k and im having such great performance, nothing like the ones showing in youtube benchamarks.
If I build this myself, how much money would I save compared to the pre built option? Is there usually a worthy difference?
Shame that timewarp lighting isnt an option.
Love me a stick of RGB memory. Pointless but looks so damn good!
I have never built an AMD system, I’ve been rocking with Intel DIY since Skylake, and had a PC with Pentium and 286/486 and Core Duo before. But until Intel gets its sh*t together I’m done with them. Hey Leo, whats the current situation after your Hallock story?
We’re still waiting for updates on the situation from Intel

Leo let me down a bit, I think a review now is valid, its December 2024 - seeing less reviews from him this year :(
We’re still waiting on updates ourselves
Mat
I can vouch for PCS - they make some good systems and have good customer care, its why they do well, I had a problem with my cooler and they picked it up and replaced the cooler and its great
Thanks for sharing!
Did any other games crash? Did you try many?
It seems very loud to me, I guess its intel, cooking hot hardware always makes a noise when the coolers and fans ramp up
Excellent review mat, thank you for the hard work, from india
My pleasure!
Intel's arrow lake processors have been such a letdown, this review just confirms my fears.
That thing is literally packed with RGB.
Space marine is my favourite game, what a bummer intel have issues with that title, still seems Intel are some way off having a stable platform
Really dropped the ball on this one imo. We should have had cpu reviews long ago from Leo. If the reviews come out march no one will care at that point.
Can't review equipment that Intel confirms is broken. Not in an intelligent way.
This thing has a shed load of cooling! Cant see it ever getting hot.
Great system ! love it !

Beautiful system 😍
It’s a looker isn’t it 😀
Mat
Gets quite loud under load based on your sound test.
Horrible fan profile. If I had to guess, blasting the fans on the aio makes no meaningful difference over running them 1200-1300rpm.
What exactly about that memory can you 3d print? Da you have to own a 3d printer or will they 3d print it for you?

Yes but think about all that PC gaming goodness.
Decent 4k gamer.
1TB drive to save 40 on a 2k+ build is infuriating.
NZXT, EKWB, INTEL - its been the year of GN expose - wouldnt touch any of these brands with a 12 foot pole
Wishing Leo would do something with this range of processors, we have very little good data from good UK tech channels just a lot of paid for BS
Intel says that the chips and boards will all be changing, so reviewing the early stuff would have been a waste of time.
Good review Mat, but I am moving to AMD this time
Thanks - Can't say I blame you to be honest, I'm also running AMD in my PC
Mat
I dont understand all the hate for Intel, its not like any of these companies really care about the consumer, lets get real guys
I am LOVING my 265K I am getting more FPS than I did in my 13700K and runs and feels smoother than my 14900k(I had a bad 14900K to be fair).
Needs to come with an RTX 4080.
if it doesnt start a game (newly released game - not because game is not finished) then its an automatic no no - shouldn't be advertised or sold in the first place to be honest at any price
Well I get the point and I wouldn’t buy intel myself but I’ve had game issues before myself.
I remember that launch with fondness. So many problems makes me look back and smile.
lol 😂
This is way overpriced for what you get - by at least 200 bucks
Should have been a gen 5 2tb not a gen 4 1 tb drive.
Looks ok, its intel however, who cares now?!
I thought that Intel guy on a podcast said very confidently that they had patches and BIOS updates coming end of Nov to first Week Dec. Did I miss the news? I have a million tech channels in my feeds.

I hope to god Nvidia come to save us all in January with some killer hardware. its a mess right now for brands doing such a bad job
Wow they are brave sending this in for review ! have to say congrats to PCS for having balls the size of watermelons
I wish I could get that system in portugal, our system builders are pure crap we dont get these options ,. time to move to the UK
Intels arrow lake cpu feels like a major bottleneck here, especially for the price point...
Meh, no way would I buy intel in 2024
