Health nerf is only ok if the venom is buffed for it again. I would like to see two different poisons as an ability, one that affects stamina and another that slowly drains your health. Or for example, that you starve more quickly and become dehydrated, or that your vision becomes worse. There are many ways to make venom better and choose a type of venom Ability makes the meg more fun to play.
That sounds amazing but imagine a group of megs all running different kinds of venoms just going around crippling people 😂

I would disagree. That health nerf was really big. He is at the weight of a medium with the health of a raptor. He needs a useable venom and if they are gonna handicap him THAT bad I want old-school venom back. I want to see that drain stam and keep it gone. If they are not gonna give him that level of power then giving that big of a nerf doesn't make sense to me

I think the Meg should be better then the komodo dragons since their related. They walk slowly for a reason. Not only should venom drain stamina but there should be a bleeding effect. Megs should definitely be feared.. but instead nobody is scared of them.
This is why I really liked The Isle’s concept art for the Megalania, they’re slow but make up for it with their venom, ambush and tracking capabilities.

Megs venom needs to drain stamina AND health. Toxic scream needs to be for 30 seconds. Meg is supposed to be a stalker and something that if u get bit a few times ur a goner. If they want to make it weaker, then make venom more useful.

I'm so bummed about this. I just fell in love with the meg, since they fixed the stam, and now they are nerfing it. 😢
Meg need a new effect for venom. In reality the venom is a kind of Anticoagulant if we translate that in to the game. It must be the kind of venom that stop you from recovering HP and healing Bleed. So I think that a Meg bite shouldn’t cause just damage and venom but also throwing bleed into the mix just like those raptor’s bite. And this venom should last much much longer. But to make to gameplay more fun cause no one probably want to wait 10 minutes for their prey to die. So we will keep the stop Stamina from recovering effect with it for now when we Stam is down to 0 (if you are careless in a fight). A new kind of effect will takes shape which is a Paralysis Status Effect which is also a real effect of a Monitor lizard like Komodo Dragon’s venom. This effect basically mean “You are dead man”. It cause you to basically living. You will lay flat on the ground can’t do anything for the duration of venom still left on you and hoping that those Lizard won’t find you again or otherwise you are dead if you didn’t got up in time. As a draw back from these new powerful venom effect. The bite damage will be significantly reduce. You have relied solely on the bleed and venom to do the job for you.
Honestly drop the damage to 0 if they do that so you have to depend entirely on the bleed and venom
I get the venom is probably not that useful against low stamina consuming dinos, but people need to accept that some dinos or creatures just can't be as strong as the top tiers. They can probably do something a bit better with the venom but to be fair the Megalania is pretty quick and really good in the water and most terrains with the leap ability so it's more of an annoyance than anything else. They play the long game and when you are low on stam they just bite you for eternity.
That's not even realistic to the game. Half the roster can still use attacks without stamina. Megs run out of Stamina quick as hell, so you as well as your target are out of stamina therefore that said effect is null. Meg doesn't need to be top tier, but it needs to be able to compete. Otherwise take it out the game. It isn't even worth the play. Meg is mediocre in water compared to other semi aquatics. Meg isn't the fastest on land or near it. Honestly I think like the devs, you hate the meg. I don't like stys, but I can agree they're good when they're good and garbage when not. I deleted the game recently. Mega groups and the nerf to the few dinos I like done me in. It's heavy semi aquatic and raptor Era rn, and I don't play those. Not the style I enjoy. Next update imma read on what's changed and decide if I come back
Meg needs venom that does damage to health over time. Like say a bite that stacks onto the target and ticks down depending on how much stacked.
* have it slow acting at first- then depending on how much stacked give it another bite that activates that stacked damage.
If they were to make it so that only venom could stop healing abilities, meg would have a cozy spot in many groups. kinda annoying now with bleed stopping healing and so many dinos with bleed attacks running around.
Would be a buff to meg and heal dinos both.

Every time I comment on Reddit or the discord, everyone states he is a "support" dino, but who would he support now with such shit stamina? Megs used to be overpowered, so, of course, of course Meg mains are mad; however, this rework was just a glorified Nerf. I agree with decreasing health, but not when you increase the length of his hitbox. Losing venom? Cool, it never was much of its playstyle unless you fought something with abysmal venom as is. Honestly, the venom needs to go away. Venom irl kills, paralyzes, or shuts down motor functions. Even if meg had a normal bite as fast as the viper strike, and the venom bite did a status-like paralysis for 5-8 seconds, then it would be worth while. Even if the bite had a 15-20 second cool down. The point is, if you want the meg to be support, give it something with support like abilities. If you want it to be an ambusher, it needs early dmg then die off. If you want it to be a chaser, it needs speed and stamina. Enough to chase most things down with 1/4 stamina left. Meg isn't an ambusher, meg isn't a support, meg isn't a damage dealer, and meg isn't doesn't even have any unique trait that is worth a damn.
Meg is a glorified ws dino that is middleweight. It isn't even fast enough in water to be worth while. Meg is just an escape artist ws dino
I'm currently maining Meg on official servers with my friends who play as other dinos and what my opinion on Meg right now is that he can be a good solo, only if you're picking fisher as a way to get food because its easy food without the likelihood of your death. Think he needs a lone hunter ability though.
If their going to make venom useless in combat, make it drain health alongside stamina or stop stamina recovery and drain stamina

If you are on land a lot with Meg then go leap. It helps with getting away from a lot of predators by jumping down cliffs and high areas they would chase you to
If they changed it, maybe make it so all things that take stamina takes 4 times more stamina to do. like a trike charges, but due to venom it takes 4x more stamina to do.

My main Dino is a juvie meg, I’ve grown it to adult to unlock the new abilities as they come out, personal note, when you grow your Dino and get abilities in each slot, the only ones that you don’t get when you shrink back to juvie are the call and the second attack slot.
Venom needs to be realistically compared to the kamodo dragons,komodos venom doesn't slow stam,it weakens the muscles by making the blood unable to clot so basically the prey is bleeding to death,it's not designed to be fighting other dinos,its designed to deliver so many bites and track the prey usually finding the prey alive but unable to move..they could give it a blinding affect that strengthens with certain bites or with each bite the blinding worsens..that or a stack affect that bleeds along with how the venom is currently and that would make it much more realistic and affective...also:venom shouldn't be affecting the same species,that's a big disadvantage in group play aswell.
Ahh damn it, the Meg needs his venom buffed so much. It’s basically a sarco on land. You land a hit, they run away and you’re left hungry.
He also needs a away to track his prey once they are bit. Actually a lot of Dino’s need some senses like night vision, smelling Dino’s, seeing recent tracks Dino’s have left…things of that nature.
Way too many times I have lost a Dino I have damaged with no way of tracking down. Foot prints on the PS5 are useless and need updating. Foot prints are easier to see on the switch haha.

Can you apply his voice ability after you have inflicted venom or do you have to apply the buff first which then only gives you a 10sec window to land bites?
Just got to adult two days ago with meg.
Even with the venom nerf, if you can get a scream and venom bite off and tail ride, forcing opponent to sprint and try and shake you, is still bad news for big dinos with slow Stam regen.
But yeah the venom sucks in comparison now.
Fought a lat yesterday and it was a really tough fight when I don’t think it should have been. Just couldn’t hamper smaller Dino’s stamina effectively.
Maybe Venom could reduce maximum HP instead of lowering stam? Or reduce maximum stam? Idk just sucks that meg have been in quite a bad spot for a while

Simply is w channel I'm still use meg tho it's doodoo now before the update you could kill maips with the meg if your fast enough and smart but you can kill pachys,sarcos and ceras but the meg needs the Stam drain or if the Stam drain dies get permanently removed it needs a lot more Stam. Edit I see no one playing meg so why did they nerf it so badly?

I want to see the Dilophosaurus and the Brachiosaurus add into the game sometime , this game is lacking in some Classic Dinosaurs, but Is cool adding in ones I never heard of before

I think Meg needs a huge buff in some way! Me and my friend killed a subadult meg as camptos, admittedly the meg could’ve just ran into the water which it didn’t lol but still without a tail attack like sarco on land it’s easy to attack

If it shouldnt drain the Stamina then make it Up for 10 mins or so without any Stamina regenerating so we have to stalk them down till they colapse. With a bite Deaing a little Dmg at first but being Stronger with any% stamina the enemie misses. Maybe Weaker for Bigger/heavie Dinos.
As a Meg main over a year , am sad that i actually deleted my meg with every skin bcz of current and incoming nerfs

I just want to be able to go longer without eating/drinking. The game as it is just feels like running back to the food/water every 5 minutes.
I think the dev's of PoT should have venom be a effect as health drain at this point rather than stamina drain not like all dinosaurs have good stamina recovery to begin with. If the meg ends up being venomless than what would be the point of having venom as an ability from the start? What's next, a newer dinosaur gets add in the game and it's far OP than a sarco, sucho, and even raptors along with some apex carnivore ? Guess why not give thalasso a pick ability to pick/grab small dinosaurs and drop from certain heights or something.
Honestly, megalania is quite fun to play.
Why are they nerfing meg and the venom it hardly does anything now venom should drain stam and cause bleed or slows down rhe dino like a bone break plus we should get a sense like ambush something to buff solo play

Meg is nerfed so hard, in reallife it had extreme good stamina, the bitesshould deal alot damage bc of its venom, it cant climb, its venom should be supposed to kill some dinos with a single bite like in reallife it did and its strongest weapon isnt in the game, its tail🤦♂️ it is the most underrated in the game

You don’t use leap for jump. You use leap for much less fall damage.

ah I thought it was more than that. it FELT like it helped when I used cliffs to drop down but it’s quite possible I was just thinking it was going a lot.
It’s a shame. Meg needs so much work and it’s my favorite playable. Much harder to make it work when people play Lats or hatz these days

I have to agree that the devs are ruining the game for me,venom is useless now,i wouldnt mind the shitty venom as much if they buffed megs stam,hes slow on land,slow on water,has shitty stam,mediocre damage,hes just terrible overall now,he cant even compete with people in the same class unless they are bad,i fought an alio for 10 min straight,and i had the upperhand the entire fight,but the dude still managed to out stam me on the end,and thats with my shit ton of venom stacks,they need to bring him back to where he was previously.

Would have been better if they had left, the health of the meg at 650 hp.
The poison could have been changed to not drain stamina, but to have other effects like this one.
Examples of poison would be:
Paralysis: infects your dino and moves slower and with several bites it falls over and lies on the ground for 10 seconds and your health goes down a little.
Difficult vision: infects your dinosaur and makes it harder for you to see where to hit your enemy.
Hallucinations: infects your dino and you lose control of your dino and your attacks for 15 seconds, your dino tries to protect itself and tries to hit the enemy even though you don't see the enemy.
I love the Meg and it would be cool if the devs could listen to our examples and buff the Meg.
And maybe make his tail shorter and make him a little bigger himself.
Is just an example of the improvement of the Meg.

The short answer is No, it's not worth it. Venom doesn't work anymore.
No and this is why I am grumpy. Meg is my favorite playable I love monitors and he feels really good as well. But the fact that he literally doesn't work. There is no reason to play him now. I get that his venom was initially to strong. But the fact it stopped recovery was a good balance. Now it only slows Regen. Like how useless. Even if you make it so venom drains stam but once the stamina is gone it gets a special Regen either fully or to half before venom kicks back in that would be fair. Drain out the stam, then as it regens they still cant run or use steam attacks like when you wind yourself normally but that envenomated recovery won't let you run jump ECT untill you are half way or fully recovered
I would say venom now completely useless; if it weren’t for the fact of the devs, NERFED, every single Dinos Stamina Regen.
It takes like five minutes for a Sarco to regain its stamina by just standing, and over a minute and a half when sleeping.
Even the fast running dinos, take almost a minute to regain full stamina.
At least, with the new PTB they’re working on megs bites will do more damage & he will have better stamina regen, I think.
They're getting a larger stamina pool (about a 2x increase in total sprint time) but idk about the regen. Would be nice though.

Meg is just the most abused little dude in the game. Low health, low damage, terrible stamina, and now his venom does nothing… I don’t get it. He was already useless before the venom nerf… only way to fix Meg is to make it a herbivore, seems like the only way for the devs to stop shitting on it
This is horrible I main meg 90% of the time it's my favourite thing to play, I didn't realise it got nerfed so much, thought something was off during fights. Wonder what's driving these nerfs and odd changes, probably some in the community moaning again. It gets worse on modded servers, just can't compete with modded dinos, as a solo player I think sucho is a better option right now. Amazing channel by the way been subbed for a while
It's bullshit. As a meg main they gave it yet another backhanded compliment called "upgrade". This is a game where everyone and their mother has something stacked against the meg now. Species with extra stamina, quick venom heal, fast stam regen, venom resistant hides, extra stamina abilities, and more. They messed with it's bite and depowered it because of the new bite and are now upping the damage. They improve it's stamina finally which was long since needed like everything else that was wrong with the meg before. They may as well give it bleed. It's venom sub species is useless now with the nerf instead of being defense and it can't even get a tough scutes or thick hide to make up from its sheered health.
Dont forget the tail lenght increase for a larger heartbox, alongside with venom, megs wonky heartbox was also its XFactor, now they also are trying to take that from the animal.
