That's amazing. I have a much cheaper machine that I think is on it's last leg. It just keeps getting jammed with bones. I need to invest in this. The raw diet has improved my cat's health tremendously.
Thank you for the demo of the Weston 22. I specifically was looking for videos here to see what is tbe best meat grinder to grind up latge volume of chicken or turkey with bones to make dog food. So im assuming this will also do turkey bones
We have fed raw since Oct 1995. I have just purchased this machine and am eager to get to use for the benefit of my dogs and my finances .......do you ever blend the ingredients as you grind? Is there a part II to your informative video? BTW - you know how fortunate your cats are to be cared for so well - nice going!
Me and my wife have a 2 year Rottweiler weighing at 130lbs and we just got a wolf pup who’s expected to mature up to 150lbs so being able to grind up whole chickens this fast with the Weston 22 will definitely make feeding them easier
Thank you very much for the information, I want a grinder to make chum for fishing. Do you think it will handle fish bones the same size as chicken leg bones? I appreciate your help, regards Mark
Hay Mark I just bought this grinder and my tray is not flat. The pin you slide the head to is not at 1200. This makes the tray sit crooked and lean to one side. Also it leans to one side where the motor is instead of being square off the table. Did I get a crap one? Thanks
steven drawdy Bro. I am on my second cleaver: a riveted Walmart $10 cleaver. skip the one without rivets in the handle. Then get a blemished $2 diamond stone on eBay. best of all learn how to dodge the bones and catch the joints when u r dissecting. In this case u do not have to $$$$$. lol. U got $ to waste? Your privelage. Happy New Year!
+Eeeh Bee I just purchased this meat grinder today from Amazon and added in a $25 meat cleaver. It's 8" and weighs 2lbs with good reviews so we will see. But yes I agree with learning on where to cut the chicken quarters to avoid having to cut through bone.
as long as raw meat is not left out on a warm countertop for several hours, it's perfectly safe to refreeze it for human use too. that goes for any thawing process, not just for refreezing. refreezing only affects the quality of the meat by causing moisture loss.
Have checked that " it is fine to refreeze defrosted meat or chicken or any frozen food as long as it was defrosted in a fridge running at 5°C or below. Some quality may be lost by defrosting then refreezing foods as the cells break down a little and the food can become slightly watery."
I don't know how these people are getting their chicken to grind, I just purchased this and a total waste of time cause mine sure doesn't work like this. All the parts are put in correctly and the meat stays in the auger and doesn't even come through the plates.
That was awsome . I'm starting my own rottweiler home myself me and my wife on 10 acres in South Carolina.

please stop putting your cats through it! Yes VERY bad for Their health!

Sorry I thought that said fiance. Haha.
Where can I buy the machine?
in the background "....how does it feeeeel....." "...Like a rolling stone.....a complete unknown...."
You’re going to get some seriously large shards of bone using that coarse of a plate.
Could you please post your recipe here as well? Trying to get a good raw recipe for my cats too and it would be really appreciated.
I'd like to see the fine blade.
Washing meat DOES NOT remove salmonella , but your dogs gut can handle a fair amount without getting sick.
every time I try to grind chicken, it gets stuck between the knife and disc. any ideas on how to fix this?

great video. do you know the horse power on the 22? also, how much did you pay for it? thanks.
What the hell kind of cat are you feeding all of this too?

can you show how finely the bone was ground up?
Gotta the be the mother of all meat grinder.
is it the final product or do you make a second pass with a finer plate? (large bone fragments slipping through the coarse plate is my concern)
Every time you slam that cleaver down raw chicken juice squirts out. Freaks me out.
I need to buy the 3/4grind plate. Goes much faster than smaller holes...
Hi, great video thank you, what size holes are on the plate please
what is the plate size you use?

I would be interested in knowing if the chopping table he is chopping chicken legs on is plastic? I have used wood with poor success.
Hi Mark is this Weston 22 the pro series 22 with the 26mm holes in the front plate?
So is it safe to run chicken bones through it ❓
how small does it grind the bones?
Have you tried grinding Turkey on this? If yes, how did it do?
And I have NO clue why it posted 1/2 dozen times.....feel free to remove, I tried, no go.
Where did you get this grinder and the grinding plate? Thanks
Thanks
Too bad we can't see the texture up close of how small it gets the bone ground up
Is this the 1 HP grinder or the newer 1.5 HP one?
Liz, I have an older 1 HP model and it grinds anything I throw in it.
What meat cleaver are you using? I'm looking to get a fairly decent one.

How much is this please
can you remove the motor for cleaning
rickey desi Yup. Head comes of after loosening the black knob.
I would think it could easily handle any bone the size of chicken.
did you freeze your chicken first before you grind it?
Sinem B actually you can for animals just not for humans

i just grind the whole chicken
why give cats pumpkin
same reason we give it to dogs, good for healthy digestion and intestines! :)
Big dogs have teeth they don't need help with grinding food
cupcake goldendoodle it says for their cats

Turn the music off in the background
You must really hate your grinder! Running it dry while jaw jacking is not smart neither grinding bones!
😡
Waste of time period, you cannot even see the texture of the meat after grinding. The noise was too much to bare, I had to turn the sound off.
And I have NO clue why it posted 1/2 dozen times.....feel free to remove, I tried, no go.
why give cats pumpkin
Helps with proper digestion and keeps their stool consistency from being too soft or too hard.

It's impossible your computer could do that on youtube....seriously?
