Thanks for making this video. I used a cheap grinder like your LEM to grind my elk and deer for many, many years. Over 25 elk, and many deer went through that machine. When it got stolen, I bought a #22 from Weston, it is used, and I paid $150... What a difference, small grinder would take about 2 hours, it took less than 15 minutes to grind 100lbs of elk. I do feel that the large machine left more meat on the auger, but it wasn't a huge deal with a large run. For small runs, I'd use the little grinder, I think it was easier to clean
Thanks, you made it easy to see the differences in the sizes. #12 looks good for what I'm doing. Most smaller machines don't even mention the size in their adds sadly.
Someone simply wanted a new grinder. All of this mysterious information is so very readily available and easily accessible. in MANY places. But no one has to justify anything they buy to me (unless they use my money to buy it). BEST OF LUCK TO YA WITH THE NEW GRINDER!
Thanks I have an older weston #8 that is about as slow as the one in your video and have been considering a #12. After seeing your video I now know the #12 is the way to go. Thanks
Thanks for this comparison. Can you recommend an efficient home model for grinding soft bone, chicken/turkey necks, and parts for cat food? I have a small apartment and only 2 cats. Thanks!!
One of the issues I am contemplating is reports I've read that the larger the plate size (and larger feed tube/auger channel), the more wasted meat that can get caught in the auger area that won't come out (unless you force it out putting additional fat chunks or bread to push it out). Do you find this to be true? How much is the difference between the two sizes you have here (#8 & #22)? Thanks...
today we're going to compare a speed test on a Ferrari vs an Elantra. In addition, we're going to handicap the Elantra, just to ensure our sponsor can upsell the much more expensive version of their products. Home cook beware, you need to grind much more meat per minute. Also pay no attention to the fact that the slices of meat we are using is much larger than manufacturer recommended sizes. Get the commercial version guys. C'mon man... =) ass hats
Thanks for the video. I currently have a #8 grinder and will be buying a LEM #22 grinder. I wish I would have seen this video about 6 months ago. I would have bought the #22 at the start.
Pretty good vid for comparison not with standing malfunction. Lighting was off and maybe a little description about capabilities, ie lbs/min, small bones, stuffing tubes and ability.
@@HectorPerez-tb8hn lol, I meant why would someone feed 20 homeless cats a raw foods diet? seems excessive....you're cool, keep doing the good work... :)
Apples & oranges. These small machines with plastic gears are not for someone wanting t do a good job. The only thing worse is the grinding attachment for your Kitchen Aid mixer.
Did you chill that meat for the number 8 meat grinder?? some of these reviews are set up to market the bigger meat grinder, I been executive chef for 30 years, never had any issue with my #12 1hp grinder for my home. 😂😂😂 You just wasting your money if you only grinding for as needed I like use up my meats in the freezer after 3 weeks anything after that meats start to like freezer burns.
He clearly said in the first 10 seconds that the video was about size difference because he couldn't find a vid on it. It wasn't about which is better. His needs required a bigger grinder. Sometimes a bicycle will do and sometimes you need more hp.

I was looking for a video on what the sizes mean. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video. Have been using a #8 to make dog food for years. Bigger is better !
Thank you! Really helpful choosing a new grinder.

Too late for me now, just bought the Lem #8 this morning. Wish I've seen your vdeo sooner.
Wow that Lem sounded like a 1970s Mack trash truck compared to a Tesla.. This video helped a lot, thank you!
Great video! Thank you
Kinda like comparing a bicycle to a motor cycle. For a small home use grinder, the small one works fine, I have one.

Pakistan 18 keema machine
amigo que marca y modelo es la maquina que produce mas?
Thanks I know which one I'm buying now.
Thank you for that video. It helped me decide.

Please how much price in 22 wiston meat grinder machine
great job sir
Yup, thanks for sharing. I use a Weston#32 to grind 10lbs/day Walmart chicken quarters for 20 homeless cats. Grind bones and all.
Yes I use that #32 to grind cat meat for my chicken mix feed.
why?
@@swagobill just joking

@@swagobill I hate cats, well in house cats. I will never grind any meat for them at all !! They have to get their own !!!

$99 grinder vs $500+ grinder can’t compare lol
Exactly what I was thinking.... Lots of differences in HP, gear reduction, etc.
Putting the little grinder to shame!
first genue review i found on yt in the mix with all the bullshit
looks like 911 vs mustang ..
Not really fair! Volkswagen Beetle vs Ferrari....

Poor comparison. It’s like comparing a bicycle to Harley Davidson
They don't even teach this in cooking school, this video helped a lot on making a decision.

You're setting a very bad example sticking fingers down the throat of the grinder.
The tool is literally right there for packing the meat down. They still use their fingers
