As a Southerner and someone who had to draw the US from memory for school, I am both slightly offended and amused

I have family in Florida that can back you up on your statement about Florida's panhandle - They say the further north in Florida you go, the more southern it gets.
Edit: I would love to see this superimposed over the current political map of the US to see how different it is...
You start in Southern Florida, and as you move north it gets more Southern, it continues untill you reach southern Georgia. If you continue north towards Atlanta it's northern again, if you continue north into Tennessee you're back in the south

I know this is old, but you cannot make Ohio and Michigan in the same state. I would rather be in a coalition with any other state than Michigan.

What I would do, Make 3 States. Hawaii being its own state, combine all of the Southern states into one big Texas, call the rest of the Mainland "Not Important," and give half of Alaska to Canada, and the other half back to Russia. There. Perfect (can you tell I'm Texan)

Subdivisions visibility is based on size. The provincial borders of Russia, Canada, China, the United States, Australia, Brazil, and India are all visible at minimum zoom on google maps.

On a more serious note, I'd recommend looking up the "United City States of America" by Nolan Gray. It's not perfect, but it does a good job drawing some socioeconomic and some cultural boundaries, as cities tend to be more important than states. For example, El Paso is pretty far from Houston, although they are in the same state. The area of influence for El Paso also extends to southern New Mexico.

Well done. As someone who’s traveled to most of the US, I must say solid choice by you to say you’re interested to live in Las Vegas. We’re pretty lucky to have many different regions, many places worth visiting or living here. Even simplifying the lower 48, you still created 16 different countries to divvy it all up 👍🏼
