The Bugatti has 4WD whereas the Mclaren has to make do with just the power being sent to rear wheels only. Chiron comes out tops here as it can put all power from its drivetrain much more efficiently than the Speedtail which like all other Mclaren models is limited to the back wheels only getting the power. Both cars have 7 speed dual clutch auto transmissions allowing for really quick gearchanges, but the Speedtail has the advantage here as it capable of shifting somewhat more quickly as it's Formula E derived motor allows for "torque fill". This essentially means that the Mclaren can accelerate off the power of the electric motor to compensate for lag (a small but measurable delay in throttle response as the turbos are "spooling" up and increasing pressure) whereas the Chrion uses a unique tho still inferior non-hybrid boosted two stage or "sequential" approach to providing forced induction to attain its power output. Dry weight for the Speedtail from Mclaren's own website is quoted as 1499kg (3305lb) while the Chiron tips the scales at 1995kg (4398lb) Drag coefficient on the Chiron is said to be 0.38 vs around 0.17 for it's Surrey UK built counterpart. All these and other quoted figures mean that both cars were always going to be quite similar in terms of overall performance.
Considering that the Speedtail has less power and had three people on board may have made a huge difference. Since it’s strong sides are aerodynamics and weight this may have made a big difference. Every kilo counts and three people weigh a lot. Apart from that this video was awesome. Like to see more!!!

The top speed of bugatti chiron is faster than a speedtail's the top speed of a speedtail is 250 mph while the chiron's top speed broke through the 300 mph barrier
@Miley Duff almost Chiron 0-300kph is 13.0 seconds and Speedtail is 12.8 seconds. So Speedtail in a straight drag race would wipe the floor with the Chiron.
@@Rockatha it’s the other way around the Chiron would wipe the floor with the speedtail from 0-200 kmh. The speed tail may have a faster 0-300 but the Chiron is just going to run it down and overtake it at 400 kmh
@@justyourtypicalgamer3488 have actually done your research on this. The Speedtail is quicker to all speeds than the Chiron up to 250mph. The Chiron Super sport and Pur Sport are quicker than the Speedtail.
Awesome video guys, but the thing is this is just the standard chiron. The Chiron Pur Sport, Chiron SS, and The Bolide are much faster than the regular Chiron ( just to mention ). And the normal chiron is limited to 263mph, so you should probably use the speedkey on it to pull how it should pull (even faster at higher speeds). But super entertaining tho.
