I drive one of these, and I'm still trying to figure out how he didn't suck water into his motor. The air intake is located in the grill, and his grill went under water, so logically speaking, either he relocated it, or just said fuck it.
The air intake is on the top left corer of the engine bay, so while the front of the car was submerged , the air intake probably was not, and then when he put all 4 wheels in water, the water was not exceeding the maximum height allowed for the Commander by factory, which is 20 inches... Judging by the looks this is not factory so I am guessing the added height will be adding a few extra inches to the maximum allowed water depth, taking it to around 23-25 instead of the regular 20... keep in mind though, these numbers are all for standing water, not for running water! Also I would never do this to my Commander , even though I believe it could take it....
I know this is wayyy after the build of this vehicle but are there any plans on how to make that bumper?!?! I live in the US and I definitely can’t afford shipping. Lol
Look at those idiots standing there with there kids right at the edge. The truck coming straight in there path. That was cool but I can’t get over those people lol
Nope they don't come with any of that, just locking center, front, rear diffs. Commanders weren't lucky enough to receive all the bells and whistles that some them wrangler guys need/want.
I have a 2008 commander with a 5"/3" lift, safari snorkel kit (silicone spray all elecrical plugs/connections) and similar tires and have crossed river/swamps about that deep with no issues (no electrical issues ;)) in the Grand Savana (at least 5 different occations).
@@coffeefish I have an 08 with 130k on it now I haven't had any electrical problems . The only thing I can't seem to fix is the brake light switch it always sticks if you have your foot on the brake a lot , but that's not really electrical just a sticking switch .
I'm digging those sunroofs ❤
That's the cleanest xk I've seen
Not anymore
That made my stomach hurt lol but well done. I've always loved off reading but never been that deep in water.

I would love to pull the trigger on a commander but can decided wether the 4.7 V8 or the 5.7 HEMI would be a better option.
Definitely the 5.7l...the 4.7 is way to under powered.
5.7l V8 Hemi! I’m driving my wife’s XK and I love it! It’s mine now hahaha
gotta have those steel bumpers!!!! where did you get them??
From maniac4x4 in Cape Town...just do a google search for them...😉
Also....where did you get those clear corner headlight?!?!?! I want them bad!
Those clear indicators covers were standard on all the top spec models of the Commander.
@@Arrie751102 no way man lol, I have the limited 5.7, in the u.s., and I've never seen them on any of them here.

Electrical will be toast.
Nope... had NO problems. Did not even get water in the Cab.
