- There's no credible reason to question Rwanda's record, according to the Home Secretary James Cleverly, who's been in Kigali signing a new treaty he hopes will get the Government's asylum seeker policy back on track.

Last month the UK's Supreme Court blocked plans to deport illegal migrants there, saying it was unsafe.
But Mr Cleverly lavished praise on what he called Rwanda's "humane and professional administration of refugees".

The new treaty states that in return for deporting migrants to Rwanda, the UK has to accept Rwandan refugees into Britain. Furthermore, Britain has to financially support all deported migrants for 5 years.
Another nonsensical waste of taxpayers' money.
I think they are better off with the New Zealand plan, send migrants to New Zealand

This is all literally Labours fault, they changed the uncodified constitution which makes it hard to pass laws, they got rid of all the life peers and replaced them with random labour peers that vote against conservative propositions and they began mass imigration. This depends on what is meant by work. Rwanda won't stop people smuggling, travel, etc. It would mean sending people to Rwanda and I doubt all cases would be those arriving on boats. Don't believe them.

It’s an irony that the UK government is relying on the honesty of Rwanda to abide by a treaty while considering breaking international treaties signed by the UK to make it past the judiciary. Whose job it is, in part, to temper the excesses of the executive.

If there are asylum seekers why are they not seeking asylum in the first safe country!? They passed several of them including France!? That is the definition of international asylum laws. The UK should just send them all back to France

No one is asking the really obvious question, why would Rwanda want to take in immigrants who arrived in the UK? As with most political issues, the answer is money, the UK would be paying Rwanda huge sums of money for 'accommodating' asylum seekers. The fact that immigrants are an essential part of our economy, usually working unskilled and undesirable jobs, would mean this plan would be massively costly with no benefit to the UK other than to satisfy the racists.
Better question is international asylum laws they passed multiple countries including France to get to the UK so why are they here? The UK should just send them back to France
@@djm2189 We can't just send them back to France, because we're no longer in the EU, the Dublin III regulation no longer applies to us which is the function where they should claim asylum in the first safe country.

In your case they cherry pick a location which is not valid. Thus the UK should be an adult and stand firm against them. They passed 2-3 safe countries to get there. Cherry picking a location should always be declined by the host country.
@@djm2189 I think you may have confused international law with the particular function of the EU we were talking about, there is no international law that states a person seeking asylum has to claim asylum in a particular country, they can continue until they get to a country where they feel safer, either due to that country having family there, is more diverse etc. The US would come under that same law too, but I have to admit I don't know your legal system at all and maybe you have your own set of law which does prohibit immigrants travelling through other countries to reach the states. What is ironic is that a lot of the UK voted to leave the EU to stop immigration and actually there is now less regulation to stop people seeking asylum since we left the EU. Personally I think immigration is beneficial for the country, should there be restrictions and limits, absolutely, the country needs time to grow infrastructure and housing. If you look back a few generations of families you'd be surprised how many emigrated to the country they're in now.
A really answer is asylum seeker are cover up. Who does sponsor Kagame to create chaos in Eastern congo DRC with his rebels ?🤷♂️

My Grandmother was liberated from a Nazi work camp and granted asylum in England, she met my Grandfather ( who was Polish army) at the refugee centre in Oldham , so I do not have the right to comment or have any say in or about current immigration laws - I think that people whose Grandparents were born in the UK should have their views taken into consideration before people like myself - who are only 2nd generation English or less - however, my Grandparents came to England from Poland and were hard working, law abiding citizens, I think Rwanda could be a an excellent solution to the immigration problem - I think at the moment - there are a lot of very angry people and a lot of hatred because of immigrants, I believe this is because the current system with immigration is pathetic, I agree that immigration can be a productive and important part of any society but we have lost our way and so immigration at the moment is generally having a negative effect, my idea is for us to unite against violent criminals who come to the UK and think they can commit violent crimes, we should build a prison in Rwanda and any immigrants that come to the UK and hurt people are immediately sent to the prison which would be run by Rwandan people who would receive a very good wage and thus help their economy and save us billions

The transfer of immigrants from Britain to Rwanda will be a cruel injustice to immigrants. If the British government does not allow and accept all these immigrants, in the near future they will be destroyed by the bad prayers of these immigrants, because they have sacrificed their lives to come to Britain. I find it amazing NONE of the media are talking about the clause in the agreement which means for every one person sent to Rwanda we have to accept one of their "most in need" refugees , it is one in and one needing NHS care and free house back.

It is Article 19 of the "UK-Rwanda treaty: provision of an asylum partnership" which reads "The Parties shall make arrangements for the United Kingdom to resettle a portion of Rwanda’s most vulnerable refugees in the United Kingdom, recognising both Parties’ commitment towards providing better international protection for refugees" so basically we are taking in the worse cases of the aprox 300K refugees in Rwanda from Congo .... so basically this is one in and one out EXCEPT the one's out will need NHS care , free houses , totally reliance on benefits ... NONE of the MP's will comit to what this number is coming from Rwanda OR even acknowledge it and admit it is the case. @@Bleaky1
