Q: Is he singing or is he just lip-syncing? I firmly believe music videos featuring lip-syncing are the bane of cinematic existence.
A: The majority of music videos in existence use lip-syncing, so in that respect, yes, he is lip syncing. No, he isn't the singer of the song, but yes, he was singing while filming, and his audio was cut in post.
Q. Why do some scenes have blinking lights and then in the next shot they are gone?
A. The video takes on the stance that the teacher is imagining the majority of the more glamorous events. Also, improper planning.
Q. And then at the end the papers flying everywhere disappear too! What gives? I'll stab you for this!

Seen this vid a long time ago, before i even knew anything about e6, then i forgot about this video for over a decade, and now i see it again, remembering the thing just by seeing the first few seconds... Wow... Been a while... And now i actually know of e6 and like their stuff, so it makes the whole thing even more interesting as a tangent from the past...
It's honestly so well done that it just stuck with so many of us. Hell it's so well done that at one point I assumed it was the official music video for the song lol

Honestly, this song became my favorite song by watching this vid.
Before this, i've never even heard of this song, but it just sticks to my head and I never want to let it go.
I've lost count of the fan - made video clips I've seen, and more often than not, they are creatively worthy.
This, however, is hands down the best I've ever seen. The fact that Electric Six have made no contact or comment on this brilliance only adds to their perverse mystique

For the most part you are correct. Monopoly money, tissues, and random papers we found in a classroom trashcan. Lots of light papers, so as to make it fly easier.

Director here. Long shots are something I like to do. I find constantly cutting away every 5 seconds to be horribly disconnecting and impersonal. How long your shots are should be no determinate of how good you are as a filmmaker, and if it is taught that it IS, I question who is teaching you. Rather, your ability to make something good, worth watching, and not empty hearted should determine that, in my (the directors) opinion. Thanks for the criticism, of course, as that is interesting to hear.

Electric six is one of my favorite bands and they have some great videos (love the danger high voltage and gay bar videos), but this fan made video is EASILY the best electric six video ever made or probably even conceived of. We would of course love if we got more hits, but we are so incredibly stoked that it got this many views. There is lots of gold to be found on youtube that's been on longer than our video but has way less hits, so its really awesome that we made it this far.

The first time I watched this music video, it was around 2011, when I was 14. I can't listen to this song without watching this humorous and AMAZINGLY DONE music video. 2011, and it's now 2024. It's been years, but I've shown everyone I know this video. Of course it's a great song, but an even greater video. Basic, simple, let's you jam to the music instead of looking at quick cuts and bad color. And this guy, his sort of dead pan, unshakable confidence. Good recipe.

The song and video is just glorious...The banana and glazed donut on the chalkboard, monopoly money, the Van Halen reference (Panama), pelvic thrusts...all of it, with some really masterful subdued guitar work on the breakdown. The song simply never gets old.
