I bought one! Right off the back of watching this. And I have to say in my collection it is second only to my Mya-Moe tenor! It is a phenomenal value for money. The intonation is great and the sound coming off the strings even above the 12th fret is incredible for a uke this price. I love playing it. It sits right by me. Thanks for pointing us in this direction, Barry. And, as always Matt's service is speedy and impeccable, too.
One of the most impressive ukes you've reviewed lately. I was pleased with its appearance and your comments on build and playability, but then you played it. Wow, what an amazing tone, loud, crisp, and balanced. And, an excellent value.
Just bought a cedar rosewood tenor of this brand from Matt it is just phenomenal! Added a pickup and a low g as it was intended to be my main low g instrument it's just gorgeous! Can't put it down.
I purchased one of these gems on Matt’s recommendation, after watching this video. Matt kindly fitted it with a low G and sent it to the US. I love it and I never thought I would ever have a smaller ukulele, but this is special! Thanks for all the fabulous reviews!
I think that these Ukeleles are extraordinary . Great new addition to choice for affordable Quality Instruments . I have even more reason to take a look at these once the shop in Carlise is back open again .🌹
Wow... Beautiful tone! Comparable to higher priced models (on sale...) in price. I'd buy 1 in a heartbeat. A tenor in same config... OMG heaven! TY for the review.
I own the flamed mango version of this ukulele from Millar, and I second you on the remark regarding naming convention : it is indeed a concert scale with a "soprano" body, I am saying that because it this soprano body is actually not that smaller than the body of my concert Kiwaya KTC-2. It is not as big, but not far from it. I have other full fledged sopranos like an Ohana SK-35 and as traditional sopranos their body is much smaller than the Millar long neck "soprano". Hence relating the name to an hypothetic body size seems to be a little problematic. I don't care because the Millar sound so good but some might be interested :). Thanks again for all those entertaining and informative ukes videos Baz.
Yep, it does sound as good as it looks. Pity they didn't make it 2mm or so wider at the nut, although it's only a mm down on string spacing on your average concert scale. At that price I suppose I could buy one and hang it on the wall to play on a good day for five or ten minutes though. Think it would frustrate me not to be able to take the little fella everywhere with me though. I do think it's a looker though. 🙂
I think I will have to invest in one, think we put them in the Pono range but value for money for the different top to the back and sides is where millar to me streaks ahead compared to Pono on price, but we do have to remember that all Pono comes with a ebony fret board which to me is a upgrade from rosewood, but on the other hand the Millar coming with the gloss finish brings it back to great value for money, me sitting with 5 Pono’s one will have to go to invest in a Millar most likely a concert
HOW much? That's crazy cheap. If I was looking for something new, I'd probably get this in a heartbeat. I absolutely *love* the tone, even despite this being spruce and not cedar (my favourite). And that binding, ah, *chef's kiss*. yes, it's maybe a little loud but it looks to be impeccably made, esp on the pics you provided. You sound so enamored with it. I think it would be cool if you could keep it
Add a K&K Aloha Twin passive pickup (no preamp necessary with those), and you’d have a nice, compact busking uke. Not sure about the yippee-ki-yi-oh purfling.
Super nice! Sounds amazing, i love that they didn’t use Hawaiian name (unlike Ohana which is made in china and based in friggin’ long beach) or the crown headstock haha, great ukulele with an amazing price 👍
That is stunning!! What a looker! Wow! I love that tone! Every single note is clear too. It sings! Thanks for a cracking review!
My pleasure!

I am totally in love with this Uke!! Ordered after this review and did not disappoint.
Good choice!
Wow. It is quite lovely both in looks and sound. Thank you for sharing a new brand with us.
Glad you like it! Always nice when a new one comes along and doesn't disappoint!

Low G on this small uke? Interesting. I would love to hear that combination.
What a gorgeous looking and sounding Uke...thanks as always for the review Baz...:)
My pleasure!
What a beautiful ukulele, and the price is unbelievable! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I am sure he is going to sell a lot of these!
I think so!
@@GotAUkulele Too bad living in the USA, it is $429 plus post from the UK.
@@chuckvt5196 Shame!
Thanks for a very nice review ❤ it seems to me, that this uke has all I like to see and hear 😊
This model sounds great. If I saw one for sale in the states I would for sure pick one up.

Totally agree!

A cheap Pono at that - comparable to Opio I would say!
@@GotAUkulele agreed. Because of this review I found a review of a tenor of theirs in full acacia.... SHEESH!
Great looking and sounding uke at a nice price. Great review!
Thank you kindly!
Love spruce top ukuleles! Sounds beautiful and looks awesome!
Thanks so much!
Kittieconvoy, after me your first!! Gorgeous sounding uke.
I bought one and I love it!!
You should also test the tone up and down the neck when you start tuning to see if it stays in tune, no sharps and flats.
it does. if it didn’t can assure you I’d say so and demonstrate it!
Thanks for the review. It’s a gorgeous uke. I love the sound.
My pleasure!
Think I might need one of these
Terrific ukes
Thanks for the review.

Awesome review. Super surprised you liked the bindings and the head stock. But it does look great. Haha. Cheers
I love it

found the neck profile and edge smoothness more than makes up for the width. really comfortable.
@@GotAUkulele stop it, I'm already sorely tempted. 🤣

One of the most exciting 'new' brands I have played this year.

I found it hard to fault really!
Millar is super. I got a custom made all maple last year. It is absolutely amazing!
I'm very impressed with the workmanship
I love this one! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Me too!

Agreed - reckon this would project even without an amp - really hard to demonstrate on video just how powerful it is!
Great review. So are you going to buy one Baz?
no, but I’m not in the market as have all the ukes I want.
@@GotAUkuleleI wasn't in the market for one either...until I saw this review🤣
Wow, fantastic!!
Yup!

I have to agree with you - often a turn off for me that.
It's like finding a world class single malt for 30 quid.
Ha! Exactly!
absolutely wonderful!
Thank you! Cheers!
That's a winner all around.
I can tell you didn't want to stop playing it. I bet you did after recording....
Nope!
It’s gorgeous. If it weren’t for medical and dental bills, I might be tempted to sneak one by my wife.....
I hate it when life bills get in the way. Still one for the future perhaps Nickie?
