Great video! Thanks for it. Would be great though to show how to take this lens apart from the actual Yashica. Mine is a little bit stiff on the focussing ring.
That's tricky because the lens is mounted on a board and you'll have to remove that board to get to the three rear lens screws, unless I'm mistaken. There's a few videos on this.
Hello, I am an audience from China, very admire your practical ability! Great project! Now I want to modify this lens and ask for your help. My English is not good, so I use the translation software hahahahaha:-)
Film Love Photography Hi! I was contacted about this before but after looking into the designs it seems there’s just not enough space. The 1mm reduction in focal plane distance makes it impossible using my method, it was a great struggle just to fit it in the m mount! Thanks.
@@proprietarysonics3723 thank you very much 🙏. I have a yashica electro 35 that doesn't work, and I have a Fed 5B in good shape with a industar 55mm, when I saw your video, I was like this can be the best option 😃. But if don't work, it's okay. Big hug and thanks again.👍
Great job ! Just for my information, how much time does it take for you to do that ? From the dissambly (for those who don't know, this yashica lens is supposed to be removable) to the end result ? I'm guessing you may have lots of Yashica parts to sell if you start receiving orders. :)
It really depends on the condition of the lens, but usually a couple of hours for disassembly/cleaning etc, then maybe a dozen hours of machining/finishing followed by a few hours calibrating it. I have a couple of spare bodies but most aren't in great condition!

Hi eLLIS is a great job, I have always thought that some optics could somehow be adapted, I have that LENS 45/1.7 YAHINON LIKE THAT that is super clean to interior and outside, someone has asked if it is possible to adapt it to leica thread, you have answered that it is not possible, for that millimeter of difference do you think there could be some possibility, if the rear upright was turned to leica thread instead of leica m? please a question how do you du to stand the shutter in opend possition ?
Hello, thanks for the comment. Indeed there is very little room inside the lens but it is possible if the RF coupling is removed, an m39 thread could just about fit then. As for the shutter, I completely disassembled the lens first and removed the entire shutter mechanism. Thanks!

Unfortunately not, It takes alot of time to machine the parts and I am busy with university work at the minute, I gave some ideas for new lenses though
Dear Ellis, Is it possible to contact with you via e-mail? I would like to mount this kind of lens to my Fuji X-T10 MILC and I need some advice as I feel. Thanks!

Wow! People would pay a lot of money for this lens conversion!
Excellent video, which leads me to ask, are you making and selling your adapters?

Hi
Nice job. Any other new project, converting old fixed lenses for digital cameta use? Thanks
This is great. Would you concert mine to M mount?
Where can I get the mounting hardware? Also do you think this would work for m mount to Fujifilm x mount ?
That's great👌. Do you know if that lens works for ltm39 leica or if it's possible to do. Thanks👍

Could you do this for micro 4/3 instead and how much would you charge
Ellis, assuming one (as I) don't need rangefinder coupling (mirrorless camera) the conversion will be way easier, right?
You are correct! It would only require 1 part and everything would be a lot less difficult to fit in
@@proprietarysonics3723 Great video! Do you work with adapters of this lens for mirrorles bodies? If so, how much and how can we find your contacts?
Do you have sale? this M-mount adapter.
Can one remove the filter thread ring on this camera?
