It’s was great to get a woman’s perspective of this situation. Shuni you said something that I thought was really poignant. I’m paraphrasing here but you said when “accidents” keep happening when does it become a pattern (of abuse)? It reminded me of the story of the frog in the pot story. If you put a frog in a pot of boiling water it jumps out of it immediately because it knows it dangerous. However, if you put it in a pot with cold water and slowly bring it to a boil the frog stays until it is boiled to death. Sometimes DV is that way. First times it was an accident, second times they were stressed at work, third time I provoked him, etc…. You never see until it’s your deep in it. Such a great reaction & discussion. 😊
That's totally true, unfortunately most people don't realize they are in a situation like that until it's already too late, but we're just glad these type of stories are out there helping people notice there is a way out for them too. Thank you so much for supporting! Much love 💕

My only complaint with this movie has to do with the trailer for it. I'm not sure if there were several trailers and I missed the others, but the one I saw did not explain well enough this movie's storylines nor provide proper trigger warnings. I think the movie handled the subject matter well (I could nitpick one or two things, but nothing big) but the fact that someone could see the trailer and not understand that they were going into a movie about DV is horrible imo. I have a friend who has dealt with DV in her life and she was super amped up to see this movie thinking it was just a romcom with Blake and Justin. I explained briefly that it had DV as main storylines in it. She did still see the movie, but instead of going to the theaters she watched from home with friends around to support her and was grateful that she did so rather than experience the movie in front of strangers. More movies should contain trigger warnings for serious subject matters in the trailers or marketing campaigns about the movie. I loved your reactions to the movie as well! Especially how one of you had read the book and the other hadn't so we could see both sides reacting. Thanks for handling this topic so well. ♥
That's a very interesting thing we didn't notice. We didn't remember the trailer was like that. I'm not even sure I even saw the trailer. We're so glad you explained to your friend in time what the movie was really about and that she could enjoy it in a different setting. That's super nice. Thank you so much for watching!
