Hi! Are you getting just one multi? They cannot live alone and need large groups of at least 5 individuals. So please consider getting more than just one! It's much more fun to watch them cuddle and groom each other instead of a sad and lonely one. :-)
She will be just als lonely with mice, she can't cummunicate with them at all. It's like you being the only human in a world of moneys. Would you be happy then?
Hi! First you should find out if your mouse is stressed (refusing treats is often a sign of it). E.g., being cut off from his home cage (and from his companions, in case he has some) can be very stressful for a mouse. And being easily distracted is totally normal for them. When they are new to training, some of mine can only focus for a few seconds! So you should be patient and keep the training sessions very short. But it's usually easier to train them inside their cage, have you tried this?
A good way to teach a mouse to go through the tube is to get a spoon or stick and put a treat on it, and then lure them through the tube to the otherside
Yes, this species has extremely powerful jaws and sharp teeth, their bites can be quite harmful. But in this case it was just a nip. Most of my mice are self-bred and some are from the animal sanctuary.
Hi! Thanks for your video! :-) Good to see that your mouse already trusts you enough to take treats. But your cage is already too small for one mouse and she should get some companions, so you need a much bigger one. I already sent you a site some time ago where you can see how a mouse cage should look like and how to build one. Please take a look at it again.
It totally depends on what you expect from your pets. Rats bond with you and enjoy being petted, mice are pets to observe rather than handle and are much harder to tame. Both species can't really be potty-trained and both have a smell. And both species must live in groups. A difference is that male rats can live together and male mice must be neutered, otherwise they would kill each other. And keeping them alone is no option.
Gracie GDL My mouse loves salmon and bit my hand instead of the little piece of salmon I gave him. 😅 He didn't hurt me or anything, just jumpscared me a bit. 😂😂😂
In this case I give them wafer paper (unsugared/-flavored) and a wheel should be solid and at least 25cm in diameter (the ones you get in pet stores are often too small).
When it came to the nipping of your finger, that likely was mistaken identity. The white bandage looked similar to the white treat. Also, my rats always bite my band aids.
I'm currently getting a mouse on Wednesday!! And I'm very excited to try this! My family members showed me your videos and it seems so easy! Hopefully it is!😅
While they do love peanut butter, there is a risk of choking because it is so thick. Make sure to water it down to thin it out before giving to a small animal. 🙂
Are you sure he is already tame enough? And have you tried a spoon? Many mice who refuse treats from the hand will take them from a long spoon. The treats themselves are less important than most people think, mine would even work for food they can have for free.
Don't worry they are not being forced to do anything. It's the same as teaching your dog to sit and stay they want to do it because its fun and they get treats :). Trust me they wouldn't do it if they didn't want to :).
So cute. I abhor those monsters throwing them as food to snakes, lizards, spiders etc. One shouldn't keep pets demanding live foods - every animal should have chance to flee.
I got 4 New mice, but when I try to teach them tricks, or anything they get scared, and if they are in their cage they are fine, it's just hard since they get distracted, and I don't know what they like for treats. my older mouse I do, but she is to lazy to bother on doing any training, could you give me some tips please? Thanks :)
I know this is an old post, but maybe create a small space do they feel safer and also less distracted. You could use cardboard to make a mouse sized “room” or playpen. Make sure that the walls are high enough do they don’t jump out.
my mice won't eat treats when they're out of their cage! When they're on my hand or on some kind of surface outside of their usual place they seem not to be interested in food, too busy exploring! Any suggestion on how to train them despite that?
my mice are tame but i have not found a treat that they like they will just take a sniff of the treats in my hand and carry on doing their things. makes it hard to train
Your videos are amazing. I've always wanted to trains some mice to do this. I was wondering, is there a way to stop them peeing and pooing on you. I had a mouse before that always did that but a wild rat got into his cage and I want to try again. Would getting two females be good to start with?
i had a pet mouse, a white red eye one usually feed to snakes, never thought about training it. one time a let a bunch of little kids play with, they harassed the poor thing so bad i put it back in its cage but one of them convinced me to take out real quick and, while trying to grab it, I cornered him and he bit me. my finger swelled up to the size of my thumb and throbbed for days
Absolutely nothing can replace companions for such highly social animals. Just google for isolation stress in mice, it has lots of negative effects. For fancy mice, the minimum group size for females and neutered males is 4 individuals, 5 for multimammate mice (the ones in this video) and gerbils should only be kept in pairs because larger groups tend to be unstable. So if you want to get just one rodent, a solitary one like a hamster would be the better choice.
great work its not for everyone. me and my mouse have bonded like crazy. loves to play and be pet. but still if she's not on me she gets crazy and wants to take off.
I would love to learn my mouse this, but he doesn't eat the treats. He also doesn't eat it when he's in his cage. This way I don't know how I can learn him thinks. I've tried sunflower seed, dried banana, but it doesn't work. Do you have some tips? Thanks
Hm... so the males get aggressive when you click? I'm hoping to start training my ASFs, soon. if only for additional stimulation, for them, since they're so clever and easily bored. How long does it take before they'll begin to take a treat from your hand? I've only had them a couple weeks, so I'm not expecting much-- though they will take a toy from me. :)
hey I had my mouse for about 4 days and she is 24 days old she wont accept my treats do I need more trust or she don't like my treats, what treats did you give your mice in this video?
Do you just let your mice walk around on the floor or are their barriers or something? I would really like to know, and also where you got your obstacles from
The weaves took quite long (a few days), but the other obstacles only one or two short sessions each. And my fingers are never ok when I work with this species, I get bitten almost every day. ;-)
Hi! :-)
You can't potty train mice. But this can also be a sign of stress. And four mice are the minimum group size to start with, they live in groups, not in pairs.
I have a wild house mouse that I found when he was possibly 3-4 weeks old. He was very curious and I taught him to eat from my hand and also to lick peanut butter from my fingers. He's getting really comfortable about hands now. It took a while for him to trust but now he comes when I call him and loves to visit me.
I know this is a 10 year old post, but for future reference, peanut butter can pose a choking hazard for small animals because it is so sticky. They love it, but it’s risky. Some will water down peanut butter to make it a thinner consistency.
Hi, I have a cute little mouse and I would like to try training him!!! Can someone please suggest what treats are the best? If tried the little chocolate drops made for mice but he doesn't seem to like those, any suggestions? Thnx :)
Omg I'm getting a multi soon they are the cutest little things! How chubby and cute!!!
Hi! Are you getting just one multi? They cannot live alone and need large groups of at least 5 individuals. So please consider getting more than just one! It's much more fun to watch them cuddle and groom each other instead of a sad and lonely one. :-)
Ohh I didn't mean getting a single baby, I was planning to get mice friends for her! :)
She will be just als lonely with mice, she can't cummunicate with them at all. It's like you being the only human in a world of moneys. Would you be happy then?
thank you for pointing this out, till now everyone I asked said he/she would be perfectly fine with mice.
I want hundreds of mice... And then like in the movie "willard" with rats..
There so ADORABLE.the fat one was so fluffy and just somadorable

I love your videos. :) The mice look so chubby when stationary. Very sweet, little critters.
LOL. "My Hurdle!!!!" at the end.
A good way to teach a mouse to go through the tube is to get a spoon or stick and put a treat on it, and then lure them through the tube to the otherside
Many people don't realize that mice like to learn things like this.
They have busy little brains 😊
slowly steals hurdle..... -_-
Gracie GDL lol
Your mice are soooo smart. Love them. Thank you for sharing.
4. Watch your cats.
What an adorable fat mouse...thanks this will hep a lot with my rats
In this case I give them wafer paper (unsugared/-flavored) and you can get it at stores with baking supplies.
I only came here to watch videos of cute lil' mammals.
Awww! How he/she bit and stole the hurdle! How cute! -3
Yes, this species has extremely powerful jaws and sharp teeth, their bites can be quite harmful. But in this case it was just a nip. Most of my mice are self-bred and some are from the animal sanctuary.
Very stimulating for mice, I like it. I might try this with my boys later.
I´ve learnt a lot of how to train a mouse.thanks for post this video

your mice are literally so cuuutte
Watch your hurdles hahaha! Amazing video, thanksss! :D
This is awesome. I love how you took the time to colour the hurdles accordingly.

watch your fingers!! XD she mistook your finger for a treat!! HAHA she got so excited. or is it a he?
Gracie GDL My mouse loves salmon and bit my hand instead of the little piece of salmon I gave him. 😅
He didn't hurt me or anything, just jumpscared me a bit. 😂😂😂
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!🥸
YOUR MOUSE IS SO GOOD AT THAT!!
That's impressive!!!! On both sides: the trainer AND the mouse =)
Such pretty meeces!
You don't need a dog when you can have a mouse like this. 😄
Pocket puppy!
I loved the stolen hurdle. Your mice are so plump and cute, much like my elderly hamster, Sweetie.
That mouse is so adorable
What's awesome about this is it could also work for rats. Thanks for posting!
I have pet rats and I’m saving this video so I can train them.
How did you make the hurdles?
Looks like he made them with popsicle sticks.
In this case I use wafer paper (unsugared/-flavored). And you can start to train an animal at any age, your hamster is not too old.
In this case I give them wafer paper (unsugared/-flavored) and a wheel should be solid and at least 25cm in diameter (the ones you get in pet stores are often too small).
How do you feel about those discs for small animals to run on? Personally, I don’t like them.
Yes, but actually he's a ruby-eyed white. I bred him myself, so I'm quite proud of him. :-)
Such beautiful mice! c;
When it came to the nipping of your finger, that likely was mistaken identity. The white bandage looked similar to the white treat.
Also, my rats always bite my band aids.
I love your channel. Question I'm planning on getting two ASF and two Fancy Mice. Any tips for caring like cage suggestions :) ?
I have two mice that I would love to train, but they do not eat when they are being played with! Please help!
I'm currently getting a mouse on Wednesday!! And I'm very excited to try this! My family members showed me your videos and it seems so easy! Hopefully it is!😅
It actually really is. Just watch out for your mice, they can run off.
İ am in love with this red-and-wite round fluffy mouse!
is there a special kind of mouse treat you can give them.i have two mice they are adorable, Louise and Misty.THEY LOVE PEANUNT BUTTER!
Wonder if I can do this with one of my little dudes? They were bred to be feeders, but hey, I have ten. Odds are one of them can do it.
ahhahaa wow i really want a mouse they're so cute, especially yours!
And what if my mouse is extremely difficult in every treats and food? What do I do?
what type of treats do you give them and should you give them a grated wheel or a solid wheel?
Thx
Don't worry they are not being forced to do anything. It's the same as teaching your dog to sit and stay they want to do it because its fun and they get treats :). Trust me they wouldn't do it if they didn't want to :).

I never knew that they'd be competitive to the point of violence so that's really useful advice.
wow nice! for school i have to train a mouse to happy with your guide :D
Where do you get these toys for the mice
My mice dont like feeding what can i do?
What type of treat is that
WestSide Reptiles cheese
my mice won't eat treats when they're out of their cage! When they're on my hand or on some kind of surface outside of their usual place they seem not to be interested in food, too busy exploring! Any suggestion on how to train them despite that?
What kind of treats do you use? My hamster has near 1 year old, he´s too old to start training?
Thank you! Your videos are awesome
my mice are tame but i have not found a treat that they like they will just take a sniff of the treats in my hand and carry on doing their things. makes it hard to train
How do you prevent them from running away on the floor initially?
Your videos are amazing. I've always wanted to trains some mice to do this. I was wondering, is there a way to stop them peeing and pooing on you. I had a mouse before that always did that but a wild rat got into his cage and I want to try again. Would getting two females be good to start with?

Yes, it's more effective and you have more possibilities. But in this group, it could provoke serious fights.
I love my pet mouse Cocoa he is so cute u will love❤him🐁and by the way your mice are cute
what do you use as treats? I try using other treats but my mouse just doesn't seem he likes it
What are you using as treats for the mice in this video?
What is the Food which is in your Hand for the mouse??
So cool! I would like to train my mice to do this. What treats do you use? My mice like sunflower seeds, but not enough to go over/through obstacles.
try using oats, that what I use and my mice love them
Ok thanks
How long did the mice learn to do the tricks?
Sorry if I've already said this but would you recommend getting a mixture of males and females or just one one type?

I have no idea why i subscribe this channel but this video is fun :D

Admirable.
Oh-oh.. die Pflaster an den Fingern ein resultat von "watch your fingers"? :D
The weaves took quite long (a few days), but the other obstacles only one or two short sessions each. And my fingers are never ok when I work with this species, I get bitten almost every day. ;-)

Hi, I have a cute little mouse and I would like to try training him!!! Can someone please suggest what treats are the best? If tried the little chocolate drops made for mice but he doesn't seem to like those, any suggestions? Thnx :)
+Olivia Rackham-sayer (RiversongStables) chocolates and peanuts are harmful to mice. Try using peanut butter or almonds.
+Aashutosh Guragain Thankyou for answering, I will try that!! :)
happy to help!
also, try oats, my mice love them.
+Kar TheWolf thnx but if already tried them. He doesn't like them!!! He's such a fussy mouse XD
0:10 he is so cutee
Do those bites hurt? You make everything look so easy! there so cute! Do you get your mice from rescues or pet stores?
What do you use to feed them??
Aww! I want to teach my mouse tricks! Btw, my mouse is a bit grumpy, is there anything i can do to make him a bit... nicer?
My mouse would never bite me! Not even by accident. Miss my mouse. :/
what did u make those hurdles out of
Question, idk if you'll see this comment/answer to this but i hope you do. Would this work for a hamster?
I get one Wednesday or thursday and i cant wait to start to train it!
Does this work for rats
