That intro from movie called "Wizard of Oz". Search Wizard of Oz soldiers marching . You can find soldiers singing " o wee o weee o" when they r marching :))
Yeah, I think they call that the Winkie Chant. I don't recall if they are ever called that in the movie, but in the Oz books, they are the Winkies. Great name. lol
One of the most underrated tracks from the album, and one of Metallica most underrated tracks in my opinion. The next track on the Album is an instrumental, a song dedicated to the Bassist Cliff Burton who passed away two years before this album! It is a beautiful song, with an extremely emotional interlude section with a James Hetfield solo!
To Live Is To Die is next song by Metallica :(. Listen well to the instrumental bro. Is in honor of beloved bassist Clifford Lee Burton R.I.P Cliff Burton :c
When you say they're slowing it down and speeding up around the 5:30 mark what is actually happening is that the tempo is not changing at all but Lars is switching up the groove to give the illusion that the momentum has changed when the tempo has not.
The fried ends of Lar lmao - good review tho. Yeh, repetition did stretch their songs out a bit (much). Seems more noticeable now than it had back then! I purchased Ride The Lightning back in ‘84 (14 years old). And Justice at 18 (‘88). Your age now, I imagine? ☮️
As a drummer a song you definitely need to react to is seasons in the abyss by slayer. Some of the best drumming from slayer and has one of the best drum fills ever around 3 minutes in
Frayed, not fried. Like fraying the end of a rope. Frayed ends. ie. Frayed ends of Sanity. lol. Its a concept album. This one to do with justice and government and corruption Metallica labels it the CNN days paying attention to the news for the album. master of puppets obviously drugs, addiction, abuse etc. I do enjoy your reactions but yes the amount of pauses makes me want to throw something. Because you want to get the whole song and feeling. But hey like you said its your reaction not mine. But all good keep it up my man. I've been into Metallica since the 80's. And is def my fav band of all time. The first 5 albums not after. James is just a god rhythm machine, and song writing. His tone on the guitar is just insane. His picking style is very unusual if you look up James Hetfiled pick holding on google or something you'll get shit tons of images, or even youtube vids on it. It really hits the strings hard and every note pronounced.
one of my favorite song of MetallicA, Im a drummer too, and its probabky the most complex lars song, and really like the drums of the outro. the most funny thing, "I dont think lars use the chyna so often" XD XD XD, just listen any lars drumming like the last 20 years. In the 2000 he just take off the ride from his kit and reemplace to the chyna. Now he has 2 chynas, one for "riding" and other for more efect cymbal (normal use) He got to have 3 chynas in a kit, if anyone knows at what time? ;)
As a Metallicat since Kill em All. I can say that this is my fav recording with Disposable Heroes a close second. Live has to be Puppets or Creeping Death. And any one who truly knows Metallica knows the Damaged Justice tour was second to none!! Fried Ends? LOL!
im guessing you havent done dyers eve yet, get a lyric video for that one, or make sure you got the lyrics on youre phone, and i hope you know a bit about religion as james his parents were on the fanatic side of christianity
@@JourneyTheBadDrummer Haha nw man. I commented on another video saying you should react to Harvester of Sorrow again but the studio version. Since you’re a drummer I think you’d appreciate that song the most. Live version does it no justice
Yes, definitely studio to the end. Dyer's Eve in it's full studio regalia is tough enough they took over 10 years to play it live, and that was simplified.
People don't give a shit when you pause your video, but it's when you act fake and pretend like you have not heard these songs before where it irk's people. Some people are smarter than what you give them credit for.
@@JourneyTheBadDrummer yeah it was definitely an odd move. In that vein, there's another youtuber called Josh Steffen that does a bunch of song parodies in the style of Lars with like four china cymbals. Might be worth checking out for the channel.
I can think of many other songs that are more interesting and more fun to listen to. Frayed sounds so calculated to me. This song has heart but it is lacking in my opinion. I feel people think it's good just because they have never played it. Obviously I am going to get downvoted by the Metallic circle jerk who can't respect someone else's very innocent opinion.
How does the fact that a person does not play a song affect the quality of the song in the listener's ears? 🤣 Does a technically difficult song mean a good song to you? Listen then to Dream Theater where 90% of the songs are goofy and mindless shredding. The power of music in melodies (riffs) and compositions. It's not my favorite song from the album either, but damn. Tell me your favorite songs, I just wonder
James rhythms behind Kirks solo in this song is actually incredible!
Yeah, and once you hear that you will never pay attention to the solo ever again 😂
Pretty sure the “effect” on the snare was a china cymbal

lmfao
This is in my top 5 songs from Metallica, master and fade to black is in it to. The 2 other songs always change haha
The solos on this album are so nuts, peak Metallica for sure.

You need to do album version of Harvester
Before you end the album re-do Harvester of sorrow.. this time album version.
I love this, hell yeah! Thank you for the content bro. Remaining 2 songs are the best in the album in my opinion
"You guys hear that, right?" Nope. It's just you. You should get that checked.
This song is amazing!
As a Metallicat since Kill em All. I can say that this is my fav recording with Disposable Heroes a close second. Live has to be Puppets or Creeping Death. And any one who truly knows Metallica knows the Damaged Justice tour was second to none!! Fried Ends? LOL!

fucking crazy song, the best album BRO
I fucking love this album and every fucking song on it!!!
I like my Sanity Ends grilled with a little lemon pepper and dill.
of metallica's first 5 albums this is the last one to finally be played live
That chant in the beginning is from the wizard of oz Very interesting
That is interesting would of never guessed
Yeah! James is singing the "Oh, we, oh! We, oh, oh!!" at the beginning!!!
And, there's no effect at the snare, but a China cymbal!!
“Dislike if you hate me” 😂😂.
Bro after your done with this album you defenintly gotta do ride the lightning by metallica
Fucking brilliant init mate
Dude yer gonna shit yourself with Dyers Eve. Holy moly.
Pantera domination live in Moscow
Frayed not fried man
The Fried Ends of Sanity lmao. Great reaction man
Yeah I fucked that up lmao

Great!! Please do both To live is to die and Dyers eve studio version. There's not a decent live version of them, unfortunately.
Yes, definitely studio to the end. Dyer's Eve in it's full studio regalia is tough enough they took over 10 years to play it live, and that was simplified.
Which Metallica album will you do after this one? Enjoying the reactions man keep up the good work and wishing your channel lots of success.
Should be Ride the lightning
I agre Ride the lightning is the only acceptable after this Album=D
@@ork_oz Agreed. Can't wait to see what he thinks of Fade to Black.
Don't know yet
Ride the lightning 🤘
You need Gojira.
"By the way I'm going to be pausing - fuck you". I subscribed immediately
Your the one streamer I don’t give a shit about pausing. But other people I can’t stand.
Oh you got some
Lars flipped the Chyna upside down here

Lars replaced his ride cymbal with a china after this album
Interesting choice from his part

He did not after this album.. the china cymbal always exist on all Lars drum kits .. after 2004 he just remove the ride cymbal
Your hair is fried Kurt.
Nothing to do with the snare it's a crash cymbal. Your a drummer?
China Trash cymbal, not sure what size maybe 16-18".
How old are you?that snare sound is with a China type cymbal. Freyed as in grey not fry, man.
“Frayed not fried”
Frayed ends. Not fried ends
Lars. Not Lar.
U play the drums but have no clue what a China cymbal sounds like. Bruh.
I never said I didn't know what a China cymbal sounded like lmao
too long? lol

the fuck are you on? they have played this live several times
G 6y
The song has a lot of guitar overdubs, overdubbed harmonies, technically it’s very good song which I care less. To me it’s just very boring song.
G My favorite Metallica songs are Master of puppets , Battery, For whom the Bell tolls,One,Creeping death, The Call of Ktulu ,Damage Inc.
Great track. Clean yer ears
It's not fried ends.......its frayed ends
