I used sika's marine sealant to repair leaks on my aluminum canoe. I really like it. That said I'm most likely gonna go with the crowd and use decor on my trailer.
Thanks for red heart. I am new to RV stuff abotu a year and it's good to see just a clear thinker but not squelched by RV culture. Gotta be yourself in this world. I now avoid RV life but live in one. I prefer boat world. Keep up the good work Mister and keep up that 'angle' on this stuff. I love the 'old RV' why NOT mess with it! - - Imus face
@One Ton Black Sun Hey One Sun! We will talk! Just running out door rare sunny day in Seattle region. I've oddly heard of 'Dani.' I lived in Clearwater for two years.
If you're not already doing it, try wetting your finger prior to smoothing out the caulking. I find that a clean line helps me to see problems developing and looks great. But don't ever do this with silicone caulking-- use a glove. I learned that the hard way once after it started dissolving the skin on my finger, lol. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
You can drink from your fresh water tank. I just don't like doing it because I haven't had a water filtration system in my RV and I don't like drinking plain tap water, so I just drank and cooked with filtered water. Just make sure you bleach your fresh water tank and lines and rinse them thoroughly. There are videos showing this process on YT of course.
Appreciate this since I know this but forgot, being a former boat guy. Can you imagine using any RV stuff on a sailboat? I can't. So off to spill my wallet on 3M but worth every cent as usual.
Not really very helpful. He fails to mention that you really should clean the area after removing sealant and before putting the new stuff on. Use acetone to clean and a clean rag.
First time RVr and your video was so helpful! Thank you.

I love how this video wanders off into water a different something or other at the end, that's how I think

That's a great tip. I'm going to be redoing another area of removal soon and I'll definitely try the wet finger tip.
Can you explain more on why you don't use your fresh water tank to drink out of? Is it not safe... I'm worried

I've used dicor and proflex. Nothing compares to 3m marine sealants. 3000 series. Application must be precise, not glopping on line dicor

wasnt this vid supposed to be about sealant replacement?
