Lyrics:
I should know
Who I am by now
I walk
The record stands somehow
Thinking of winter
Your name is the splinter inside me
While I wait
And I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with you
But I don't have to make this mistake
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wait
The walk has all been cleared by now
Your voice is all I hear somehow
Calling out Winter
Your voice is the splinter inside me
While I wait
I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with you
But I don't have to make this mistake
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wait
I could have lost myself
In rough blue waters in your eyes
And I miss you still
I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with you
But I don't have to make this mistake
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wait

"Where do you think we are...?" One of the simplest, yet most powerful and emotional lines in television. Goodbye, Ben.
I cry EVERY TIME I watch that episode
But in the end, the most important thing to accept, is that no matter how alone you feel, how painful it may be, with the help of those around you, you'll get through this too.
Eblo Are you? Good for you to come to terms with it
+Eblo
dont know what your word "gay" has to mean in the context of the comment from the OP.
That was a quote of a moment in a tv show the song was played with together.
this moment and especially those words are true.

My late husband and my favorite show. We would wait all week for this show. This was our favorite episode. He's been gone now 10 years next month. Seems like 50 years. And it seems like yesterday. Time stopped, part of me died with him, but I feel him and that part of me when I hear this.
i am sorry for your loss Hope you are doing well
@@anujdubey4367 thank you so much. I'm well. It was REALLY rough for a long time, but God has pulled me through.

@@LauraAbshire This was such a well-written tribute that I miss him too.
Sorry for your loss 😔
If we have to say goodbye to a Scrubs star, then we can't forget this song. RIP Sam Lloyd
Literally googled sam after seeing your comment - didnt even know he had passed 😭
I'll be honest I'm feeling a Lot of feelings listening to this rn 😢
I saw him recently in "The Middle".de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Middle
He passed? What the fuck 2020! I heard he had health issues but never heard he passed away... The Blanks and his memory shall be forever revered
Rest in peace, Sam. Thank you for all the laughs.
Thanks Scrubs for bringing me this artist. And 50,000 laughs (and a few cries)
Best show ever.

Only a few?
I miss Scrubs so much it hurts sometimes :(
you are not alone bro!

in a weird way its like some kind of family to me.. watched it like 10 or 20 times and still do after years and years ...
Was that a scrubs reference lol
Max's comment of course :D
Max Mustermann "where do you think we are?"
Perry's reaction was the part that got to me in this scene, He is so proud and full of himself so seeing him the way he was made me cry.
Where do you think we are?
First Time I cried from a TV-Series or a Movie. Has not happened often since then.

so damn sad
John C. McGinley's perfect depiction of what it looks like the very moment a heart breaks got my right in the feels.
"Where do you think we are?"
- I'm always crying
It is also a reference to a comic but doesn't matter... Even after watching the whole series 5 times I still lay down and cry when JD says that
Dosadni ste It is not reference to a comic. It was a joke made later on. :)
Where do you think you are?

Happy birthday ❤
My dad once said this song was for my Mum who died 8 years ago now, and i just keep coming back here every day to think of her. I still tear up every time.

I hope you feel lucky to have had her. I wish you the very best.
Scrubs had the most amazing music, always fits the situation so perfectly. Amazing song!
Radin had a handful of songs in the show. I believe he is a friend of Zach Braff.
Great tunes for a great show.
God, how I miss Scrubs!
RIP Ben.
I would have to agree
"I should know, who I am by now". Even the opening line is so simple yet so potent
Kids growing up.
whoever chose the music for scrubs
deserve the Oscar
Actually Joshua Radin is a close friend of Zaff Braffs (JD), and was suggested by him to the Scrubs team ;)
thats interesting
It was the actually Jordan from the show, the creator's wife, who chose the music
soccerwizard975 r u sure?
I know Zach Braff chose the shows theme tune: 'I'm no superman'
"Where do you think we are?"
I've watched the entire series 3 times already in the past 3 years (currently on the 4th cycle). And it's this moment where I knew this show would be in my heart forever. I've cried silently at this scene all 4 times, despite being a "man". Because if the show's taught me anything, it's that there's nothing wrong with opening up and letting your feelings loose. And if anyone says otherwise..well fuck 'em.
Amen, this moment did the same for me. We are allowed to be vulnerable.
@@otoji amen 🙏 the both. I don't know how that show 😕 you how alot of good people are just like that family..I was apart of a family like that and we had so many people and friends. Nothing now.
It's a wonderfully poignant moment
Same goes for me. I rewatched it recently - and thia scene hits me every time.
Women appreciate that a man can be vulnerable at a time like that. It shows compassion and empathy.
I love how Scrubs gave an opportunity to a wonderful musician whom we might not have known otherwise. Thank you, Mr. Braff for introducing us all to an amazing song
"Where do you think we are?" =,(

My left ear enjoyed the guitar.
Well my right ear enjoyed Josh Radin.

BlackBlizzardAus Hahaha, I just checked my speakers because of your comment. I had them on wrong sides as well.
"But in the end, the most important thing to accept, is that no matter how alone you feel, how painful it may be, with the help of those around you, you'll get through this too."
Fell in love with this song from Shameless. I love the lyrics. Glad I found it.
To me, Scrubs was one of the best shows to air of its time.
The perfect split between "lolwtf" skits, and the ability to - in the very next scene - hit you so hard with emotion. That's what Scrubs was about.
Scrubs' music is truly its most precise character
Had the pleasure of watching Joshua perform this song live back in April ‘22 in Islington, London. I was mere feet away from him 🥹 I cried the moment he played the first note 😅
Watching Scrubs all the way through for the 4th time.
Completed.
Derek Brown I'm on my 19th time.... Its a fucking timeless show.
Feel Inadequate to say but its only my second time, really opened my eyes and payed attention this time, hearing songs in a whole new way and I'm a little older so I understand more and more of the unusual jokes, Epic Show.
Just started my 2nd time -- forgot how truly great a show it was. Laugh out loud funny; some really affecting, emotional moments; plus great coming-of-age/life lesson type stuff. Just awesome.
Just the 4th time? I think im now (without joking) at 20+ times. All 9 seasons I've watched so many times...I have every dialog in my head ♥ :D
On their podcast, Zach Braff and Donald Faison said this song was written by Josh Radin specifically for the show, and it was the first song he'd ever written.
A moment of silence for those who never watched - and never will - Scrubs.
+Logan It is on Netflix. Those who won't watch it as it is readily available deserve no moment of silence!

Use the Hola chrome extension to change your region in netflix. :-) There are other ways to do it too.

The moment that really got me was when Dr. Cox turned around and realized that Ben was the patient that died. The look on his face of just sheer anguish and realization that his son was no longer there. Such a powerful scene.
Actually, it's his brother in law. They're just very close.
poopsfeast420 Thank you for correcting me :)
He realized it before, he was just in denial and had not accepted it.
In my opinion the saddest episode is season 5 episode 20 when dr. cox lost 3 patients
Is that the one where they played How To Save A Life by the Fray? That was pretty damn sad.
"Where do you think we are?"
Crossaix It's "Where do you think you are?" ! :)
majortok Sorry man, it's' definitely "we"
Are you sure? Im German but I could swear it was "you" :D
Well, in German he says "you".

I've loved this song after Scrubs for over a decade. But now, hearing it less than a month after losing my own best friend to leukemia, it hits harder than ever. Every day, every moment I wanna share with him, it's like it hits me for the first time.
dr. cox always shows emotion. That emotion just happens to be the undying flames of rage.
seriusly does anyone know any shows that as good as scrubs at picking songs?
Supernatural does a pretty good job. Watch season 2 episode 17 Heart. The ending is fantastic
Shameless does a good job with music selection, awesome show too
Chuck, the show had always perfect music
Kyle XY had perfect music too.
I think that House did a pretty good job with music as well.
This scene in Scrubs combined with the perfect tune just gets everyone, including myself.
This song and Scrubs made me realize that real sadness is Silence. It is seeing Cox' eyes.
The most beautiful episode of all series, i'm still crying after 15 years later, thanks Scrubs
"i could have lost myself in rough blue waters in your eyes...and i miss you still." Amazing how songs and lyrics fit yourself so fucking well like they are written just for you. Even if you know they are not. The impact this song got on me is incredible and scary at the same time. Fighting depression all my life, reached a point where i locked myself from everyone feeling even more alone while trapped in an endless loop. After years i finally found someone i trusted again, beautiful blue eyes, started loving her and she messed up so badly that i went down the loop right again. My personal neverending winter. Damn Joshua, this line hurts so bad ...
I have been there too, but i can guarantee you that things will get better over time. You are probably at your lowest point in life and cant get over her, but everthing happens for a reason and you are experiencing new things in life that make you fell better and strengthen you as a person. Nothings lasts forever and change is the best part in life, but you have to recognize that you have to be ready for change, otherwise you will repeat the same pattern over and over again...
Keep your head up man, we have all been there at some point in our lifes. Best of luck to you.
"where do you think we are?"
"But in the end, the most important thing to accept is that no matter how alone you feel, how painful it may be, with the help of those around you, you'll get through this too." J.D Greatest words of wisdom :)

Miss Scrubs so much. What an amazing Episode. This one and the one where Cox lost 3 patients. Unbelievable. They will never be forgotten. Wish it would just come back on!
"We're your camera aren't you gonna take pictures"
"Pictures of what"
"You know crying babies people my son with cake on his face "
"We're do you think we are?"
Scrubs is the best show ever.. disconnected from this.. this is such a beautiful song..
Scrubs made this song what it is. Scrubs was an amazing show. Scrubs has played quite a few Joshua Radin songs in their episodes. Amazing.
I think they go hand in hand. The song is great, Scrubs is great, having music like this over an already touching scene just bundles the whole feel package together nicely.
this song was perfect for that episode of Scrubs. That is one of my favorite episodes from the show and it was so emotionally charged and this song conveys all of that.
This is one of the few songs that makes me emotional.
I found this on leverage, and loved it so much, I looked for like 3 days .
it's july 2019, and I can't wait for winter to come, I wanna feel the breeze of the air over my hair, wanna feel a sort of nostalgia invading my mind every day, the endless love for the fog and the wind. Waiting for the bus to come at the bus stop, listening to calm and chilling music, smoking a cigarette, drinking hot tea in the bar once in town. Wanna live in this dream forever.
GD. Well played
Sometimes I wonder how the hell did he manage to write the perfect song for my situation, and I mean every single word! You simply can't love this guy
*can't hate wtf
Wow, I am hearing this first after all those years. The pain is still there. Amazing show, amazing cast, amazing music choices.
If you're wearing headphones remove your left earbud for vocals only remove your right for instrumental.
+ZoinoGamingXD you can still hear both in the left. The right is only vocals though
Oh I thought it was just my earphones

SENIOR YEAR BROUGHT ME HERE 🥺
Dr Cox's heartbreaking moment at Ben's funeral brought me here 😭
What a great song. What a great show
No words can express my feelings. Love can be so beautiful, but also hurts so much. Love and miss you
I love the fact how the name of the album this is on is called 'We were here'
This one and "How to save a live - The Fray" I'm watching scrubs again and it's the best show ever!
This song played in Panera today made me question if I knew where I was.
I've worn out my first set of DVD's. It's one of the few shows that get better each time I watch.
This song to me. 😭😭 The episode on scrubs where Dr cocks loses his friend Ben when he's talking to him and realises he's past and this song pays 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Beautiful song. "But in the end, the most important thing to accept is that no matter how alone you feel, how painful it may be, with the help of those around you, you'll get through this too." I still miss you mum and always will 💔
The first time Scrubs brought me here (2019). The second time Shameless Brought me here, again (2020). What a masterpiece ❣️

Just watched this episode when I found out about Sam Lloyd‘s death. What a shame to die at such an age. Thank you for playing the fool for us and for all the priceless laughs you gave us. R.I.P.
Great actor and great singer. He will be missed.
The saddest episode in scrubs. I was bawling my eyes out for days feeling Dr. Cox's pain.. I honestly do not think any other show has affected me like scrubs has 😞 I miss scrubs so bad... and the dreaded words 'Where do you think we are?'. 😖
I’ve since lost my mother and now I truly understand the loss.
I love when JD says "where do you think we are" to Perry. It's like only he could communicate to him like that
dont u love it when the guitar man sits on ur left and the guy singing sits on ur right...
........
Listening to it with just the right earplug in. Good times.
The vocals are in both channels, it's only the guitar who is in one.
Tell yourself two things everyday. I will work hard and I am proud of myself. That's all you need.
SHAMELESS!

That episode with Ben's funeral 😭
Sometimes, being sad to sad music is uncomfortably addictive.
"You can't keep me from gettin' drunk."
"You have to forgive yourself for everything that went down the other day"
My Dad has been gone three years now. Mom has had many “where do you think you are” moments since then. I miss this show. Like all things, you never truly appreciate it until it’s gone.
Scrubs forever in my heart.
RIP Ben ❤️
I truly don't think i could name a show that was as good at bringing you from laughter to tears so effectively
Scrubs, laughs and cries in the same episode... RIP to one of the great series
so glad i searched 'winter' as it is my favourite season and i found this beautiful song! X
Dr. Perry Cox brought me here. Mr. John C. McGinley and some wonderful writers brought me Dr. Cox. I'm glad they did. I like this song.
Gahhhh scrubs was great in every aspect especially music I have watched it 10 or eleven times :P
Ten or eleven by know you should have at least watched it 15 times now haul into overtime and make me proud.
R.I.P. Ben. It's really hard to imagine the pain that Dr. Cox was going through, at the time. 😓

BEST SHOW EVER. We miss you Scrubs.
One of my favourite episodes. Showed me the more 'human/emotional' side of Dr Cox. R.I.P. Ben
Joshua Radin's incredible talent brought me here, not Scrubs :) Thumbs up if you are the same.
👍
I love it! I was in the centre of town just sitting one evening and I placed one headphone in and all I was getting was Joshua's vocal. Watching people go past, with just his voice playing, is truly cinematic.

I've lost my mom 2 Weeks ago and this song does remember me her
been there hun.a month shy of my 21st bday.worst day of my life.at the funeral, i could not stand one more minute of it and all the people and my little brother looked the way i felt, too, and then it started raining.Hard! and every anniversary Jan 24, in "Winter" never fail, it ALWAYS rains.i won't tell u some lame shit u hv already heard a million times, but i will say this: the only thing that mks it easier is time. and that's it. and some days are better than others, but some days are really bad. on those days, i listen to sad, good music, and try to remember what my mom was really like before she got sick. good luck and i am sorry for your loss. no one should have to lose their mom until they're old enough to have kids of their own. idk i guess there really never is a good time to lose the most important woman in your life.
Im sorry for that bro
Would never have discovered this song if not for SCRUBS. Loved that show.
where do you think we are?
How can some people dislike this?
+Thomas Schmid I could understand since they fucked up the sound for headphone users. The right ear doesnt hear any guitar
