It's insane how well the stereo sounds through my s21 speakers, I can actually hear the staging. I can't even imagine it in person 👍, I wish you were local to me, because I know I'll never be satisfied with my stereo after watching your vids 😜
It would be great if Peter could build a community/network of trusted installers. I'm from Italy and I've been watching a lot of videos, but still, I want the job to be done by a professional, and unfortunately, it is unfeasible for me to go to the UK
Most people will never understand or hear a well staged system. Reminds me of my demo on my X5 literally brought tears to my eyes. there's something special when the focus is on the front staging.
Thanks Peter. I was a Patreon for maybe last 5 months but I'm in between jobs so I just have to drop it. I've spent many hours re-tuning my 3 way w/Hertz Mille tweets and midbass plus Audison VOCE 3.0 midrange. I built custom a-pillars for the highs and after trying many positions I have the midbass in 13 liter boxes right behind the front seats. (Factory spots are awful, no room on the kicks, under my legs sounded good but was too intrusive, no room under seat, so I went with behind seat. I like SPL too so I have 2 Skar VXF 15" in a vented box in the trunk and I also even have one more Skar VXF 15" in a 6th order bandpass in my backseat. For rap music I turn the subs up and shake the neighborhood but the rest of music I listen to an almost linear flat tune. I just recently finally made a satisfactory tune that sounds great thanks to your tips on tuning and speaker placement. You have my dream job so enjoy everyday. Thanks again.
This video series has been really enjoyable. Thanks for you efforts Pete.
This is excactly the kind of content I was looking for!!! Sounds fantastic even on headphones over RUclips. Great job as always!
Peter as always you have shown what a Great installer can accomplish. I have yet to be let down by you and you team and what’s possible with car audio. Thank you for all that you have done and are doing for the us.
It’s great to see those who buy new cars and really want a great system to match
love this video and even more awesome that the guy is from my homeland south africa too. watched this whole series to get inspiration to do my golf up with a mid level system, thinking similar amp set up (JL) - i have a W0 12" sub already and get a helix processor going to have to do the full shebang wiring, deadening, isolation, pillar builds etc ect
Wish shipping wasn't so crazy right now. I would ship my truck to you. Your work is amazing.
So many projects from over the pond were in planning before all this madness…🥲
Superb as always Peter. I think my system in my mk4 golf gti needs some of your expertise, would love to get it booked in in the new year.
Drop me a call and we can have a chat! 😉

I can see why this guy was taken for his money on prior installs. He's lucky he's found you. Have a MK7, the layout looks similar. I have widebands based on your initial videos from a while back, but I think I need a tweeter. Thanks for addressing that (systems require a tweeter).
Great as always! We are waiting for PS Sound 3 demo list :)
Demo 3 has been shared ages ago! 😃
@@pssound9749 My mistake-Demo 4 😀
@@nightrider554 it’ll come by Xmas! 😃
As excepted , another good one ......
darn you need to 3D scan that pillar lol, just got my mk8 so here we go great video
I love your channel it’s very informative but sometimes I feel like trying to make the car really quiet is great when the car is stationary but wind noise, Road noise, and nose for the fan heater/air-conditioning system seems to get in the way of making a car perfect listening environment for music. But I do admire how you guys are trying. Keep up the great work.
Road noise can be minimised to the point that the music can play over it easily. You don’t blow the fan full tilt all the time, so that is not an issue. Wind noise is relative to speed and type of car.
The noise in the car you get is still less than what kids & wife produce in the house, which you can not control that well! 😃
Ein Traum.
🇫🇮 Nice system 👍 Sound 👍 What kind Sound System best in Vw Polo 6C 2015 ? Its 3-way DSP best?
Peter, you mentioned the dsp-amps. do you think the Zapco ADSP-Z8 or Helix V EIGHT would be enough to power a subwoofer at higher levels? 240w in case of the zapco isnt that much. although having it on 1000w would "only" be +6db right?
also have you ever wired the zapco adsp channel 7+8 bridged on 2 ohms for more output? does it work or does it burn down/ go into protect?
thank you very much!
None of the multi-channel digital amps are great for big bass and i would definitely not wire them to 2ohm bridged. There’s only so much you can ask from a shoe box size amp!
Could you build this kind of system but using the factory headunit. As your not allowed to touch a mobile device while driving. I know you won’t get the full potential from the system running it that way unless there’s away of cleaning up the output of the headunit. 🤞🏼
Very Nice!
nice
I have the same car and I'm looking to upgrade the sound. The vehicle was supposed to come equipped with a Harmon Kardon stereo but because of supply chain issues it did not. I'm not really sure how good it would have sounded anyway. Could you recommend anyone in the states that is on par with your level of work? I am hoping to do a sound system similar to this one. 3 way in the front, a pillars ,rear fill, dsp tune, and a sub or two. I am in the Philadelphia tri-state area. Enjoy learning through your content. Thanks.
Hi
I don’t know many people over there, other than probably Nick@Resonix who is not that far from you in NY and he can deliver fantastic systems.
back in 2002 i wanted a big bass sound system installed in my ford mondeo and the only person in the u.k loudest car was ice man in his ford cortina who was well known of back in the day, i spent 9.5k yes.. 9 and a half grand cash on a system that sounded pants, i learnt my lesson and sold the car 2 months later with the system all inside for 5k, so be carefull people who you go to it seems some people just want ya money.
It’s one thing to be loud and it’s another thing to build a system that you can enjoy every tune played on.
Sir,
Can we use one of these Steg midrange speakers (or any one quality midrange speaker ) as a Car Front Dashboard Center
Channel Speaker and process the frequency via existing DSP ( considering the midrange has wide bandwidth till 15k-20K ). Say suppose I do not want to use A Pillar for midranges. Would using the center channel space midrange give a higher quality and stage performance? I am running a 2 way active front, passive rear and sub and have 1 channel in DSP remaining. Thanks.
You could certainly do that, but you’ll need centre channel algorithm, something like most Helix DSPs have.
@@pssound9749, Thanks Pete for your speedy reply. I have a basic Nakamichi 8 channel DSP(NDSK4185AU) but I see Center channels for Tweeter, Sub and Full range available in the DSP, but nor sure it has the Center Algorithm as you mentioned
Hi, which component system are been used in this installation?
You want to check the end of the video for pictures or the intro video in the playlist to see everything explained. 👍🔊🔊
What are those midrange you are using, I see you use them in almost every set up. Have you had a chance to compare them to hybrid audio L3SE?
Every setup? The last 2 project. 😃
Yes, they are great, i can build great systems with these without pushing customers spending double on L3SE.
@@pssound9749 I guess those are the videos I watched! I ask about hybrid because they are actually not hard to get here in the US. but still $600 for the pair. Most european brands that cost less than L3SE never make it to the US market . For example a set of Monserra MR9 I heard amazing things about for around half the price but almost impossible to get. Seems like you woukd be great source of info because you actually worked with Hybrid
@@canillocanillo3371 i’ve used plenty of their drivers and widebands and midbass are great, subs pretty accurate too. Not a big fan of their tweeters, although haven’t heard the X1 yet.
Audible Physics & Karma Audio are great brands over there for those who want better value for their money, check those out. Gladen, Focal & Blam have great speakers too.
@@pssound9749 I know their tweeters are not up to pair with their midrange- full bandwidth speakers. Some say the ring radiator L1 pro R2 is supposed to be good bit I dont trust anymore. Any tweeter you recommend is a good match for the L3SE? Some recommend the scan peak r3004… also ring radiator…I appreciate your information!!!
Have really enjoyed this series. A bit of a let down that a new and cushy cars even have such poor sound from factory. Your client sounds a bit South African 🇿🇦 1👋😎
Because he’s originally from there! 😃
@@pssound9749 I get excited and send a message before I have finished the video 🤣 heard him say so further on.
Steg never produced speakers ,
it started lately and it’s not a italy made . just cinese product remarked .
I have just bought a mk8 golf. How much would it cost to have the same upgrade you’ve done here?
A similar system would be around £7k to start at.
@@pssound9749 Is that including the labour costs in installation?
@@nicholasscott4493 yes.
Why isn't this in the stock golf? :D
How would that sound with a dap compared to a phone?
Phone is just as good with data stream. Just make sure the quality of songs u play is lossless.
@@pssound9749 I bought some steg 6.5 speakers for my jeep can you please give me ideas for my build I really need your input I'm not really trying to half ass anything
I notice for demos they always play a very simplistic sort of musical piece ..nothing tonally complex such as choir and orchestra ...which always challenges even the best systems....
I have heard quite a lot of different types of music all the videos but RUclips have very strict copyright laws so that probably limits what can be played also
I'm a South African, and I'm almost sure that client is from SA... Am I right?
Yes, he was born there. 😃
Man I wish this guy would just let you talk.
I was talking in the videos showing the whole installation, now it was his time to talk and share his thoughts. 😉
I have 300 watts RMS @ 8ohm per from door lol... and 8000 rms on bass at 1 ohm
I am all analog in my processing ..... Dont see a need for DSP right now..
Everyone has different goals and expectations.
@@pssound9749 indeed been dong this for 20 years plus so I can get the sound I want either way at this point
