I have a pair of these DF 6x24's with serial number 770482. They were requisitioned by the Australian army at the beginning of World War II and given to an artillery officer and I was lucky because the case still had his name and service number. He seems to have fought in North Africa, Greece and Crete and then against the Japanese in New Guinea. Among the army markings are "No3 MkII" which I think is British designation for 6x24 with a graticule (reticle).
