- This Togo sitdown looping coaster opened in 1997 as Manhattan Express. In 2007 they changed the name to Roller Coaster and now it's known as the Big Apple Coaster.
This coaster stands 203 feet tall with a 144 foot drop and a top speed of 67 mph and is one of only three Togo coasters currently operating to feature a half-loop maneuver. Do you know what the other ones are and where they're located?

Don’t let these comments deter you from riding this, I did it last night! My honest review is that it’s worth going on, but not perfect. It is not as rough as people are making it out to be, but the seats aren’t super comfortable. Really fun loops and scenery from the ride. My husband is a huge coaster lover and thought it was fun as well. It did give us a headache, but it was still worth the fun.
I believe they updated the tracks as well, most of these comments are from 4+ years ago

I rode this in 2001 at night. It is a fun experience due to the location. I mean, you are in a casino and then you are on a coaster!
Smooth or not, this is one of the most unique and iconic rollercoasters in existence. Hope to get to ride it someday.

Well this coaster has caused a lot of bruising due to its extreme roughness in the past, but i mean Premier Rides has caused it to make it somewhat smoother with its magnetic braking and the new trains they manufactured. so in conclusion, it's still rough, but at least it's not as rough as it used to be.
I went on that coaster last week and it doesn't hurt at all. Don't listen to what other people say about roller coaster because you might not feel the same. The dive loop was my fav part. I thought it was VERY fun!
i went on it and they have a frigging shoulder rest AND lap bar and it hurts pretty bad

that thing just sounds rough as hell, especially the transition into the dive loop. you can hear the train riding on the upstop wheels & get slammed onto the mains. :/

the "Heart-line drop roll" is EVERYTHING on this coaster!!!

There are two other coasters to feature the half-loop maneuver. One is Mega Coaster at Hamanako Pal Pal, and the other is Ultra Twister at Rusutsu Resort in Japan.

The Big Apple looks quite smooth, considering it's a TOGO coaster. I guess it's smoother than most TOGO coasters because of the Premier trains that were added in 2006 I believe. I think the dive loop is a nice feature for this coaster. Looks like a coaster I'd definitely ride. It's nice to see it's still in good condition other than it could use a new coat of paint. :-)

It isn't smooth at all. It's one of the most headbanging coasters I've ever been on.
Well, I was just judging from the video because usually rough roller coasters produce shaky videos. The condition of the coaster doesn't look too bad compared to some other coasters out there, other than the paint is really faded and maybe some surface rust is appearing. What do you expect for a coaster in a city? I'd still be wanting to ride it because I've been on coasters that people said were "rough", but were quite enjoyable for me. I for one don't overly mind roughness on a steel (or wooden) coaster unless if we're talking about Wild Beast at Canada's Wonderland. I haven't been on that since 2010 due to its roughness. But don't get me wrong, I do enjoy good wooden coasters such as Mighty Canadian Minebuster. I also really enjoy Arrow Dynamics or Vekoma steel coasters even though they can be a tad rough. I guess preference is left up to the individual rider. :-)
Again don't listen to other people because they might feel different about other roller coasters. I thought this was a very fun ride! And the dive loop was my favorite part

This ride isn't terrible at all! I went on it in 2022 and it was rlly smooth! The only part that was kind of bad was that one dive loop. It was sudden at that part.
I still think that this ride is very "sneaky"!! If you're looking at it from the streets of the Strip, it doesn't really give away all the elements of the ride! So, even though it is quite rough, I think it's worth paying the "homage" !!! xxooxx Love to all humans.

I just rode this an hour ago. It was fun, really wasn’t bad and I didn’t get banged up like others are mentioning. I sat in the middle, if it matters.
That said, some girl was complaining that her jaw hurt when she came off the ride so maybe it depends on where you sit?

I rode this yesterday and, honestly, it's not bad! I was expecting some real thunderous roughness but it was fine. Not the smoothest in the world, but it didn't hurt or subtract from the experience. It's a unique and fun layout - I recommend it if you get the chance!

i went on this with my dad a couple years back it was so scary i was crying after and my dad was laughing because i was so confident at the beginning (i havent been on a roller coaster since)
I was in Vegas for my 21st b-day in 1997 and my cousin and I went on this ride and we were in the front seat. Scariest parts was the slow climb and then the drops. Downside, its short and costs $15 per person.
Now it's 25 bucks per person. Went 4 days ago. Still awesome.

First off, they did build a few coasters after this as said above. Socondly, TOGO actually at 2 points held the record for tallest coaster built. The first was Bandit at Yomiyuri Land in Japan in the 80s, whose record was broken by Magum at Cedar Point. The second was Fujiyama at Fuji-Q Highland also in Japan in the 90s, whose record was also broken by a Cedar Point coaster, this time Millennium Force.
These records were for full circuit coasters only.
