    Hello lovely viewers,
I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for all of your kind and encouraging replies. This video was shot and edited in June 2019. I have since gotten the help I need but am still learning and adjusting as I go, especially with our 'new normal'. Thanks for sharing your stories, too. It's especially important to tell people around you that it's okay to go through a slump and get help for it. Keep fighting the good fight. Love you. xx

I'm watching this for the first time (started yesterday) and just want to thank you for sharing your struggles and how you went about getting help. There is still a huge stigma surrounding depression and mental illness in general, but seeing more people share their stories, helps so much!

I am new at diamond painting and I came across your video. I would like to say I have enjoyed it very much. I am happy to see that others are going through the same crazy depression and mental dilemma that I feel and as well as struggling through. I feel that you have a very good understanding of the craziness out there. You should continue doing these videos and what makes you happy. I will be continuing to review and watch your videos. you have a great day and remember that I will always be here to listen when you need a lending ear to just vent. I know how hard it is for others to not really understand what i am going through, then just tell me it is only in my head and to just get over it. Well, let me tell you it is not that simple. On a lighter note, you are doing a great job on all of your videos from diamond painting, cross-stitching, unboxing, and do not forget the sneak peeks. One last thing to mention, thank you for just being yourself. I really appreciate it. Cherry Blossoms

Hi sweet Rachel, thank you so much for sharing your story. And you being so open. It helps others also and me for sure.
I know this is an older video.. But did the doctor ever test your hormons, vitamin B13 and D3? Because I know those things can really mess with a lot of things also. It happend with me and for years doctors didn't listen. And mentally it almost broke me.
Yeah people have (nasty) opinions. But you know? You are stronger, because you are so open about the things. That is strength!
Wish you all the best and happiness.
You are doing a great job with your amazing video's and all you share.
      Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱💖
      P. S. How did the melatonin worked out for you?

🌸 you're Stronger than you'll ever know🌷 Getting out of our own heads is soooo much easier said than done. I know with a little help you can do it. We really are our own worst enemies. Some times before i record, I will sit down and turn on my Calm App to help me relax, clear my head of all the negativity. Also I am so Very Proud and happy to hear you overcame the fear of seeking help, you took a step that a lot of people can't and/or won't and for that Madame you should be very proud of yourself! 🥂 Here is to you finding Peace within yourself.🧘🏾‍♀️

    Hey hey Rachel...
    Sorry about the Novel👇🏻👇🏻
I love your channel... Your right, it’s your channel so say what you need and want to for YOURSELF!! I agree that our channels are our legacy and like you said a personal scrapbook... I can relate to so much you spoke about... I suffer with early onset agoraphobia, severe social anxiety, and depression... Panic Attacks suck, I love it when the small miracles happen... I am so happy you didn’t delete the footage, I know it’s tuff to put this kind of rawness out into RUclips Land... BUT it’s so real and shows your vulnerability, I can relate so much to you right now...
I love Laura “Darling” Law, and her pickles... As long as they have no lumps or loose skin 🤣😂🤣 I was in a live where she talked about pickles lol
Please know if you need to talk please don’t hesitate to message me... you watched my video on mental health and illness, please know your not alone and lots of care about you and want to see you happy, if slowing down on uploading is what you need to do then go for it, we will understand and we will support you in your choices... I will be sending out your Canadian Care package on Wednesday, finally... I am such a procrastinator 🤣😂🤣
Here are a couple quotes that help me get through the dark times...
“Those who matter won’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter”
“Never silence yourself just so others feel more comfortable”
    🌸 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
    Many Blessings

Thank you for sharing your story! I am a nurse and anxiety and depression is unique to each person. What works for one may not work for another, but as long as you continue to be present with yourself and move forward, you will get better. I suffer from anxiety (most of which is social) and everyday is hard for me. I have to interact with strangers daily and it is mentally taxing. Crafting is how I work through my issues. It is very cathartic to me. I appreciate you and other youtubers, you have helped me in so many ways!

I'm so proud of you for reaching out. I feel confident you're on your way to living a more satisfying life. I've been where you are, more than once. I've struggled with depression for a long time. It took me many years to accept I have a chemical imbalance that will be with me forever. Accepting I must stay on my meds is something that has changed everything. I no longer cry at the drop of a hat or feel like I want to disappear. If you ever think the meds aren't working, speak up. It took me more than 20 years to find the right combination of meds that work for me, but that's because I didn't speak up when I knew what I was on wasn't working. I now take 2 different ones and they have changed everything. You're not being selfish, you're taking care of yourself. Your husband will probably thank you for it. I am so glad you didn't delete this chat. Don't worry about what others might think; it doesn't matter. You are more than welcome to reach out if you need to.

Racheal so glad you over came your fear and went to talk to your Dr. a lot of people deal with anxiety and depression and you have helped a lot of people by talking about it. It is good that they see how you are dealing with yours and that they too might seek help. Take your time and don’t be too hard on yourself. Give the medicine time to kick in. By the end of the video you sound so much better/happier. I enjoy your Chats and feel like I am talking/ listening to a friend. I’m sure to enjoy anyting you decide to post. Take care in the meantime and this is as close to a cherry blossom I could find 🌸.

🌸 Rachel, God bless you for being so open and transparent. Thank you for everything you said. I have some of those issues as well, and one person in my family says they don't believe in depression and panic attacks. It is so easy to judge when they don't suffer the way we do. Thank you for bringing this to light so others are able to listen and understand that this is a real thing.

I am also very happy you sought help. It took a few years till they finally got my daughter's meds to get her on the right track, she still has a ways to go till she is fully and completely healed. She was diagnosed as having PTSD, bipolar and borderline personality disorder. She had been in and out of the pscyhe ward since 2014, she has not been readmitted for over a year and this is a good thing. I understand the signs and we can deal with it and she is now doing a lot better. We also trust the Lord and His help in this matter, too. God Bless you Rachel, I know that I am keeping you in my prayers. Glad you are back and sharing your story with us. Would love to see the progress on your beaded cross-stitch. Take care and God bless you.

🌸Thank you for sharing. I am watching through or rather listening through a ton of your videos. I enjoy hearing your thoughts on diamond painting companies, techniques, product suggestions, descriptions of double sided tape vs. poured glue, and your floss tube....I too enjoy many crafts and I tend to go through phases. I started diamond painting back in 2018 and I did both round and square drills. I sat under a magnifying lap in order to see the patterns and boy how things have changed. I love....love....love poured glue canvases, thank you for sharing this information with me. I favor square drills. I also have made cross stich ornaments for my Christmas tree the past few years, and my grandkids are always excited to see what new ornament I have crafted. Also I am the Nana that when the grandkids come in the door, the first thing they say is: "Nana, can we please do a craft?" My oldest granddaughter is 7 and she is learning how to crochet. The other two enjoy painting and anything with scissors and glue. Thank you again for taking the time to make your videos and for sharing your experiences. This really helps with my anxiety and depression.

I know this was posted a couple of years ago but I just wanted to say thank you for being so open and vulnerable with what you have experienced and gone through. I am a mental health therapist and have also struggled with anxiety and depression for most of my life and I am a huge advocate for ending the stigma attached to mental health struggles. We are all trying to survive this human experience and we shouldn't feel alone in the struggles that we have. I am so glad that you got help and I hope that you are in a good place now. I know that when it comes to mental health things can be up and down and finding the right medications and ways to cope are so important.

  • @amydavis4945

I think it's absolutely awesome that you went for help when you needed to. I wish more people would understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. If you have an unexplained ache or pain in your body, you go to the dr if it persists... that's just what you do. So when we have mental pain, why must there be a stigma attached when we go to a dr to find out what's going on? I absolutely applaud your courage for not only seeking the help you need, but also for sharing it with us. And honey, you are **not** alone! I have been in and out of therapy for the last 30 years. I'm so happy that you took that first big step... you will be soooo glad you did! **warm hugs** Oh, I would put a cherry blossom emoji but I actually have no idea how to do that! I'm not much of a "youtuber" and have no idea how do do much more than watch, click the thumbs and subscribe. LOL! If anyone would like to tell me how to do emoji's I would really appreciate it! :)

God Bless You and KUDOS to you! Thank you for speaking about such a personal and sensative topic!! YOU can not imagine how many people that you have helped speaking about this so openly. I have delt with depression and anxiety my WHOLE life! I can remember as a little girl sitting in a corner just crying not knowing why. I didnt't share this with anyone, not even my mom, who sufferes with this herself her whole life! I didn't see a doctor until I lost my husband 10 years ago January 22nd. I was also put on medication which helped alot but I still have my dark moments. One of my sons, my middle one suffers with the same thing. As you said, it is completely uncontrollable and I always thought that it was just normal and something that I just "had to deal with". If you help at least ONE person talking about this so openly (which I'm sure you have) THANK YOU, just Thank You!! It is a very difficult topic, one that, In my opinion is not talked about enough! I wish you the best of luck in your journey and always remember that you are not alone. I know that you do not know me at all but if you ever need an unbiased ear just to listen or someone to talk to you can find me on Instagram or FB messenger anytime! I love your videos, I can listen to you talk all day! Huge Hugs, Pat

I just subscribed to your channel even though I’ve been watching you for awhile. Kudos to you for NOT deleting this and being brave enough to put yourself out there! I believe that we in general don’t want to hear about other people’s “problems” and I think at least for myself it’s because it makes us think about our own mental state and put a mirror in front of ourselves. Mental health issues and talking about them have been so taboo for forever! Please don’t apologize for your feelings! Take care of yourself and give yourself permission to do what is best for you!

I also suffer from depression, for which I take meds for. I'm so glad to see you talk about it. Because, some people are ashamed or embarrassed to except it. It helps to talk to a person who doesn't know you to judge you. More people should see a therapist every once in a while as needed. Thank you for being you, and honest ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻

🌸🌼🍒 My condolences to you and your husband. The first year of grieving is particularly hard because of all the little anniversaries, like Father's Day, birthday, and other special family days. You don't need to do what you have done in the past like going to concerts around the solstice, you can make some new traditions. And I don't expect you to keep to a schedule, especially around holidays. It's your channel! Anyone complaining can start their own and see how hard it really is. I would like to say this is my first time commenting but I have been binging your playlist now for the last two or three months. I just recently made a call to my doctor for the first time to get mental health in over 6 years. I have been on medication for these last years but I have felt that in the last few months with everything going on my mental health has really been slipping again, I even had to step away from the workforce because of how bad it has gotten. I agree that it is important to have a good support system and I am trying to find those people while I wait for my doctors appointment which is a bit away cause you know, life right now. I'm so glad you reached out during these times because it's always that first step which can always be scary that will lead you in the right path!

Good for you! I'm so proud of you for seeking help, that's the hardest step in the journey. I know that you will be successful in your journey because I have seen a very strong young woman in your videos. You may not see it right now, but I do. We all go through periods of vulnerability in our lives that stem from circumstances beyond our control. It's how we react to these circumstances that matters, and by seeking help you have shown that you are willing to get out of your situation and move on with your life. You are one of the people that I most enjoy on RUclips. I'm not watching unboxings right now because I have no impulse control and I can't control my spending. I love WIP and Chat videos, so those are the ones I watch the most. It gives me company while I work away on my projects. I live alone about 4 hours away from my hubby, kids and grandkids due to poor health, and I'm basically a hermit. I'm not unhappy, but my RUclips friends are all of the social interaction I really get. Thank you for putting out such great content. Love you girl.

Hi Rachel Rae, I’m still a newbie with your channel and I really enjoy how real you are. I’m really happy you made this video as I suffered from social anxiety as well. I now feel like I am not alone. Going to the store by myself I would literally see the place cave in like I was about to walk into a dark tunnel. I would have to close my eyes and count, which helped me. No one has the right to judge another person on what is going on in their life. No one is perfect even the ones that think they are. So proud of you for taking steps on getting help. Keep up the good work and love your videos, it’s like having a friend to diamond paint with. 💗💗💗

🍒 Couldn't find a cherry blossom, so here is a bunch of cherries to make your day cheerie! Sorry that was sad. I blame it on lack of sleep. Congrats on taking a brave step forward in your health. That is often the hardest step to take. Take care of yourself first because otherwise you won't be able to be there for others when you feel you need to (which you don't unless you want to). Take as long of a break on here as you need to. We will still be here when you come back.

Hi Rachel, I think you are very brave to share your personal feelings with us.
In the second part of this video you were saying that tomorrow is the solstice. This was neat cuz I realized you were taping it on my birthday (June 20) I didn’t know you back then. I started diamond painting in January 2021 and right away discovered I like your posts the best. Got lots of your videos to catch up on.

I am so glad that you did not delete that footage. I will be subscribing as soon as I type this comment....no...I will subscribe now. I actually have been watching your videos for a few days now. I started when I started my first diamond painting that I have had for months but not enough nerve to even open. I have watched just about all of the playlist of how to diamond paint. I absolutely love your voice. I have since ordered several items through amazon that I seen you use. As far as the the footage that I am glad you kept....lets just say you have helped me more than I can ever express. To make a long story short...I believe I have always had Seasonal Affective Disorder since I was about 8. In the 1980s I wouldnt dare tell anyone which I should have told my mom. Anyway, lets just say even though my situation isnt severe and I dont suffer all the time, its still non the less a situation that I did eventually get help for. I have had a hard time this week and its so ironic that I stumbled upon your page and last night and today which was really bad....YOU REALLY HELPED. So thank you. By the way Im in Virginia as well. I used to cross stitch at one point in life but now I just crochet, knit and loom knit. All which I just learned in the last 2 years. Now I am diamond painting!

I'm so proud of you that you were brave and talked to the doctor. It is the hardest thing in the world but, as you know now, so very worth it.
Listening to you talk about how you've felt is like hearing my own thoughts spoken back to me. I've been fortunate enough that my family wasn't like yours but one of my biggest hurdles was getting over my misconceptions about what depression can be.
I always thought that you weren't REALLY depressed if you could get up, bathe, feed yourself and go to work. I never understood that my inability to do non-essential but normal stuff (like cleaning and crafting or getting out of the house when I didn't absolutely have to) was a symptom. My total lack of motivation was a symptom. My random anger at unknown situations was my anxiety talking. And on and on. I knew I wasn't happy. I knew something wasn't right. But I wasn't bad enough. It took a long time to realize that being functional, but only just, is not the same thing as being ok. And being ok isn't the same thing as actually being GOOD.
I'm so glad you've been able to take your own advice. You are so very worth getting help and you are so worth being GOOD.

It took about a month or 2 after taking zoloft for it to work for me and you WILL get better. I still suffer from it and it does come in bouts but when you are feeling your worst just know that THIS TOO SHALL PASS. You ARE NOT ALONE. Hugs! Fair warning, I'm just going to comment any time I have a thought...
On the topic of birds and loved ones...around here some people say that when you see a cardinal, it is a loved one who has passed who is coming back to visit you.
I never saw cardinals overmuch even after dad and pop both passed. But since I lost mom, I see cardinals pretty regularly but generally only near our house. I say hi to my mom every time I see one.
So I get why the robins meant so much. And I do believe that the ones we've lost find ways to communicate with us and help us. Sometimes even guide us. There's a certain kind of synchronicity that sometimes just can't be ignored.

I found this video because I’ve been desperately looking for something to keep my mind from racing and wondering. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety throughout my life and lately I’ve just felt off. I’m not happy and but I’m also not sad. I just feel blah if that makes any sense. No energy but not tiered enough to sleep. I’ve been trying to “snap out of my funk” so I decided to try and give myself something new to keep my focus and it happened to be buying a diamond painting on Amazon. I finished it tonight and I’m hooked so I turned on my tablet searched Diamond painting to calm my mind so I could drift off to sleep. Your video is what popped up. What is the odds! Hearing your story made me feel less alone and gave me the kick in the bum to set up a appointment tomorrow. Thank you!

SENSITIVE MATERIAL!!! I once told my sister what I felt would cause her to have a panic attack. To imagine her children as toddlers locked in or out of a windowless building alone. A building that she could not access. Also in the building is a caged lion that broke free. That was enough for her to realize that she felt she could move earth itself to tear the door off of its hinges. It’s an uncontrollable and overwhelming feeling that sneaks up on you and it takes a LOT of fast talking to realize that it is just a feeling. At 6 years old I was raped and at 9 started having panic attacks. Until spring of 2019 I was hooked on bennies. I’m feeling great now that I’m clean for almost a year thanks to a very understanding Dr. No matter who you are, you have your own cross to bear but you don’t have to carry it alone. By talking about things like this the world becomes a smaller less scary place to be and we can all find that someone else who shares the same story as we do. No one else’s story is less important or terrible than your own and everyones story is as individual as we are and we can all find comfort in telling our story to one another. Thank you dear girl for speaking up and allowing us to know that you are just as dented as the rest of us. 🤗🤪😁

Rachel i know and understand exactly where you are coming from. I have had this same problem and you are right...its easy for people to tell you that its in your head and dont overthink everything...but honestly they have no idea what its like or the problems that it causes for your entire body. I can make myself physically sick and its not something i can control. I do go to counseling and am on medication for it...but its still a struggle everyday because theres unfortunately not a simple cure. Thank you for sharing your experience and you should never feel afraid of what people will think of you. Just you sharing shows your strength because it is not easy to put yourself out there. I support you and as someone who has the same problem...i am here for you if you need to talk. Im so thankful that i found your channel💖🐼💖🐼

Thank you for sharing. While you feel the need to “convince” yourself not to unload your troubles, you should know that you are helping so many others. I feel daily what you feel. I can not however get help because I have no insurance. I manage to fool others. They think I’m strong but I’ve learned quite well to hide it because it’s an issue that Ive had since childhood. Do what you need because you never know when you might actually save someone’s life by letting them know they aren’t alone and life isn’t all sunshine and roses. Thank you for everything.

I just started watching your channel. I appreciate you doing this video. I have had mental illness for thirty years. I first got diagnosed when I was eleven. I know it's hard to accept, but talking about it helps. Don't give up on the meds just yet. It sometimes takes up to a month or even six weeks before you see the full effect. I don't know why your doctor said a week. It starts working in a week, but it can take longer to get the full effect. Thank you for talking about your journey. People who say negative things, but think they are helping, can be tough to deal with. You have my support, and you are in my thoughts and prayers, as well. You can do this. I know it's easier said than done, but you really can make it through this, with the help of others, and/or medication and/or councelling. God bless you in all you do, and take as much time as you need away from RUclips. We'll be here when you're ready.

Thank you Cheryl. That means a lot. I think they meant I wouldn't see any noticeable change for a week or two, but the full effect definitely will take longer. I will keep you all posted. And to think I almost didn't post this video out of fear, but you all are so kind.

There's nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to mental health. It's a health issue and is just as important as any other health issue.
