Absolutely love this guy. Hard to say he’s underrated given his stats and his HOF status. But I think with his occasional wildness makes some think he’s not as good as he is. He’s phenomenal. I absolutely love this guy.
I also love his personality. I remember after he hit the bird, he was not amused. He was pissed at everyone laughing because he felt so badly. I mean, it’s not his fault, and it’s incredible, so I’m glad he can laugh at it now, but still… I love his compassion for animals. Not at all surprised that he’s doing safari photographs and the like now. So on brand. I haven’t a clue what his politics is, but he SEEMS like a compassionate, caring, loving guy.
…on top of his phenomenal career. Love everything about him. One of my top five favorites of all time who didn’t play for my own team.

It is so amazing because of all people to have taken a pitcher's mound, a bird accidentally flew in front of a baseball thrown by one of the greatest, most intimidating pitchers of our time. It is so funny. Not for the bird though.
