The conclusion I can draw after watching the movie is "It's A Wonderful Life" is timeless. Better than most films made today. Friends, thanks for recommending this movie to me! I adore you all!
Watch for the snow ! It NEVER snows in the world without George ! When he's begging to Clarence that he want's to live again, look how the snow comes back. Magical.
It's a movie that couldn't really have been made at any other time. Frank Capra was at his height of ability. Jimmy Stewart had just started up again after the war and had experienced so much in such a short time. He was primed for that role. Donna Reed and Gloria Grahame were gorgeous. It's a movie of extremes at a time when life had been extreme and it explored the preceding years that had so seen some incredible ups and downs. It was nostalgic but thoughtful. A movie about choices at a time when so many had made a choice to sacrifice their life in a greater cause. None of which was lost on Jimmy Stewart. That is why this film is a classic and why it will never fade away. It's both fanciful and raw and real. Hokey and yet searing. It might be Capra Corn but it tastes so good.
Thank you for such a detailed comment! I like this movie more and more, so I read your comments, your thoughts and arguments. Through the film, I get to know the audience. I'm starting to understand them better. This is amazing!
Glad that you watched the original version in black and white. This move never gets old. Loved your reaction at the end. I'm 55 years old and have seen this movie dozens of times and I always tear up when Harry toasts George at the end of the movie.
@@abarsukova I would say that the film has grown old. When most of the film cast and crew have since passed on years ago a film can be said to have gotten old 😔. That being said I believe this film will never become irrelevant, regardless of its age. This is the mark of a truly classic film.
I can honestly say that I am just starting to study the world classics of cinema. I was one of the first to watch this film and immediately included it in my "golden collection of films". This movie is amazing! It is possible that the new generation will not watch it because it is outdated, but smart people, regardless of their age, will still admire this work of art! My friend, thank you for your comment! Your opinion is very important to me!
@@abarsukova I was speaking personally. My inclination to quit just went up. George _didn't_ have a wasted life and merely had more friends than he knew. I don't know if you're familiar with the term "salt in the wound" but it turns out to be a mistake that I watched this video; it was salt in the self-inflicted wound. Just ignore me and I'll go away.
@@Hiraghm Dear friend, i care. I don't want you to feel heartache. Believe me-sometimes we just think that there is no way out. Believe me! Only it seems!
Excellent job of editing. I could have listened to you for at least 5 to 10 more minutes on your thoughts of this film, especially with your background. You should start a Patreon of full length reactions and reviews on your favorite films. Please keep doing this. I like your accent and the subtitles.
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad you like my content. I was thinking about the Patron... Maybe you're right, and I should start one. Thank you friend!
@@abarsukova People will make a fortune on Patreon by doing movie reactions and watch parties. Great reaction video and I saw this movie December 2019 on my fiftieth birthday and what a treat I had. Cried three times, proud to say so. Your reactions were lovely and you don't need to say anything at the end.
Great movie but you skipped allot of great parts in the movie like George speech against selling the building and loan. Another great Jimmy Stewart movie (not a christmas movie) is Mr Smith Goes to washington
This movie saved my life, I first saw it back in 82' , when I was seriously considering ending my own life. I watch it every year, I laugh, I cry, and I thank the lord that I am still alive. Great Reaction, Thank You.
Clarence: "Your brother, Harry Bailey, broke through the ice and was drowned at the age of nine." George Bailey: "That's a lie! Harry Bailey went to war! He got the Congressional Medal of Honor! He saved the lives of every man on that transport!" Clarence: "Every man on that transport died. Harry wasn't there to save them, because you weren't there to save Harry.” I get a lump in my throat every time I see that scene.
Yes, my friend! I enjoy watching movies that I am advised to watch. I love dramas, comedies, and documentaries. I just want to tell you that I can't post a video reaction every week, so please wait a bit))
@@abarsukova these two movies you should react if you haven't watch. 1. Shawshank redemption 2. One flew over the cuckoo's nest. Going back to It's a wonderful life, I still cry every time I watch it around Christmas. And I've seen it at least 7 times.
The end of Its A Wonderful Life is exactly what Christ wanted for us. That is heaven on earth. Think about it. George even turns the other cheek by yelling, "Merry Christmas Mr. Potter!" The greatest, most timeless movies have what can be considered the greatest endings in film history. Thats Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, Titanic, Citizen Kane, The Wizard of Oz and Its A Wonderful Life.
Its A Wonderful Life is not only the greatest Christmas movie ever made, its the greatest Christian movie this side of The Passion. This movie shows us how wonderful a true Christian society can be. And then Its A Wonderful Life shows you the flipside, which we live in. Its Pottersville.
