Parents Sue 30-Year-Old Son to Evict Him From Their New York Home

- A New York judge has ruled that a 30-year-old man still living at his parents' home must vacate the premises after numerous attempts to get him to leave. Mark and Christina Rotondo tried for months to evict their son, Michael, who did not pay rent or contribute to the household. At Tuesday's hearing, New York State Supreme Court Judge Donald Greenwood sided with the parents. Michael was not happy. "I am just so outraged," he said outside court. #InsideEdition
There's nothing wrong with been 30 and living with your parents, but there's something wrong with been 30, living with your parents, not paying bills or doing chores
xxxtentacles 2 I agree with this. However, I don’t think I’d have the heart to do what these parents did. What if he has severe social anxiety or severe depression? I’d get him help, and just let him live at home. He is my son after all.
xxxtentacles 2 If you want to stay in your parent's home you got to pay the bills, do the chores, and make a living out of yourself to prove you deserve to live in your parent's home or get your own place because seeing this makes me sad:(
Ann Cee you have a good argument tbh!! very good point
Ann Cee The dude just looks like a freeloader.
AuskaDezjArdamaath to be fair she did say what if
Ok if your 30 and still living with your parents I don't care but at least you should pay rent or do chores around the house
Not willing to do chores and stuff is bad. He sounds like an ingrate.
Or at least have basic manners.
what am I doing Getting a job is the first priority. He's 30, come on, he can't even provide for himself.
In our culture a son is expected to earn and give most of his earnings, if not all the earnings, to his parents until he gets married.

Kristopher Klukowicz wrong topic
Kristopher Klukowicz Steve jobs and many other Successful people lived with their parents. It's a tool but you have to use it effectively.
My parents never forced any of us. But we were expected to pay rent, help clean up, and keep our own spaces somewhat decent and guests can’t come and go as they pleased. We also contributed to the food bill or at a minimum cooked meals for everyone.
My oldest brother moved out when I was living there after my separation - he didn’t want to be around a baby. My other brother still lives there. None of us would have ever been a complete freeloader like this guy!
Common practice in Korea. Most adult children live with their parents, even bring in their spouses sometimes, but help by bringing in the dough.

Not sure the way he was raised has anything to do with this deadbeat. He's a grown man. If anything he was raised in a home that by example demonstrated responsibility. Simply observing his parents he learned right from wrong.
I blame this give me. I'm entitled attitude. Liberal kind of mindset. Don't think for yourself. Just follow the crowd and get all the free stuff you can attitude.
I think at 30 he’s responsible for the decisions he makes, not the parents.
He us entitled. I bet he was spoiled as a kid then became a spoiled adult
gospelevans You must still live at home in the basement.
I'm 37 male and I live with my mother. Even though it's a mortgage free house which I will inherite, I still pay all the utilities, propertie taxes and do all the lawn work. Sweet deal for my retired mother. This guy is a bum and a deadbeat. Refuses to work, refuses to do chores and neglects his iids. We all know he spends all day playing video games and smoking weed.

Imj disabled and my parents want to kick me out go figure right there should be Justice for disabled people not to be abused by their own parents
Sorry to hear that 😞 I lived with my maternal grandparents for 97% of my life (both from birth to 5 months, then again from 7 months to 16 years, just my grandmother from ages 16 to 19, and had my own place since I was 19, but stayed with my grandpap for almost 6 months until he died of alcohol withdrawal-based delirium), where I faced emotional, mental, and physical abuse throughout all that time with them (my grandma was the worst), and my grandma tried to kick me out several times and I didn't want to leave. I am autistic myself and was gonna wind up homeless if I did so yea.
Hope things get better, and yes there should be justice for disabled people, instead we get discriminated against pretty much every day.
That being said, I don't think that this guy in this video is disabled, I think he probably does have some mental health issues. Even then, from what I'm seeing, this guy didn't help his parents with anything and just took advantage of them. I say this because even though I am autistic and have some bad mental issues as a result of being abused, while I don't take care of my place because of said mental issues, if I had to live with a relative, I would go above and beyond to help them out as best I can. It makes me feel better knowing that my family feels better.
So yea
I moved out my parent house right after HIGH SCHOOL .because my dad was counting how many days left before my graduation. I am 32 now and still independent .
Im 20 i still live with my mom and step dad but i cook dinner. Do dishes. Take care of the dogs. At least i help. And plan to leave waaaay before im 30
I would do that if they want me too they actually say how there lucky to have me around to take care of them

megan rose Stop lying, weeb. Get a job.
Justin Moua im in college soooo...... Im working to get a job
I know a few people who live with their parents after 30. Different reasons: some married and divorced; others got in a difficult money situation and needed help and etc. But all of them helped at home, got their own money and did the best they can. Most important: they felt bad about that situation. The only guy i know who was in his parents house after a certain age and didn´t seem to bother, has mental health issues and never got a proper help. This guy seems to have something like that too. He is obviously not in his best and has strange reactions... he needs proper help, BUT trying is a first step. Recognize the problem first and then seek help... to keep himself like his, for sure, not good...
Mom and dad... You raised him. So you reap what you sow.
Sow
Well...maybe he/she planted some home-made clothes - and now they're reaping what they..? Yeah, OK, it's a stretch, but, y'know, go with it... :-)
It is a shame they had to even go to court to kick the bum out.
Noe Grullon sorry. My parents didn't teach me to spell:(
Don't apologize. Typo's happen, and it's pretty stupid in my opinion to respond to someone with "corrections". It just reeks of someone with low IQ scores who thinks they just discovered a huge mistake and take pride in pointing out something anyone with at least a bit of common sense just reads over understanding what you wrote in the first place.
But as for your comment, I wouldn't pin this fully on the parents. People don't stop learning or growing when they hit 18. Its ongoing. Sure, raising your kid plants several paths for them to grow into, but it's just that. Paths that you guide your child down. They make their own choices, make their own steps. And often they will differ quite far away from the parents. You can't force your kid to be a certain way. You can't force your kid not to become or to become something. That is something that ultimately lies on the kids shoulders.
its called teaching kids responsibilities at a young age
If the kid doesn't want to respect their parents, they don't have to.
Most of the times, parents don't teach their kids at appropriate age
Why would someone leave their parents and go somewhere else have they not think or reflect that they have taken care of me when I was little
My mom would never kick me out and she has never asked for rent. There’s a real problem here in this family more than just financially. I’m 27 and about to be a nurse practitioner. Without asking, I decided to buy my parents a home, but I know that they love me regardless of what I can provide for them.
Please stop he's abusing his family by taking advantage of them, at his age he should be more mature; help his parents, look after then, build a real life, work and do something!
Parents aren’t required to give any money to a 30 year old child or pay for him to live. Anyone that doesn’t pay for their own stuff and sits at home all the time at age 30 is a loser. I am not quick to call other people names but this guy is sick.
Damn and she going to be a nurse practitioner yikes!! Where is your clinic now? Your patient need to see your comments double yikes!!
My father won't care where so long I got a job before end of this month. I am 21 still trying to find my life here dropped out of school because it wasn't helping my learning disability. So I owe them $1k in money. And move on. More likely I would use one my paycheck to pay it off.

Tiahna Rodriguez at least you had a heart to move back in to care for your mom. I’d say not everyone would have a heart to do that. Keep an eye out for any homes on the street you live on going up for sale, then you can contact the real estate firm telling them your interested in the home. Then you can continue living independently, just nearby your mom.
After mom fainted a few months ago, almost on a nightly basis. I went to her bedroom door to check on her. Same for my niece.
If me and my sisters moved out. Something might happen to mom again, and no one would find out for probably a long time.
