Dude, absolutely rad and excellent and useful content but as constructive feedback there's two things you definitely should improve upon: 1- Please, PLEASE get rid of that popping sound at the beginning. It reminded me of that that scene in Shrek where Donkey was annoying the hell out of Shrek with the popping sound. I literally muted the video and put subtitles on that part cuz I really couldn't bear it on headphones. 2- Segment the video in sections so viewers can choose which section(s) to watch. For example I was only interested in viewing the T248 (which I currently own) with the Fanatec DD (which I am currently considering). The rest are of absolutely no interest for me because I cannot buy them where I live and/or don't work with xbox series x ( I have no PC nor PS5). I don’t know that much about drifting. I never drifted in any game, leaving aside a few slides in wrc, but from what I’ve seen online you need a wheelbase with fast reaction time and response, a wheelbase on which you can mount a bigger wheel rim. The T248 can’t do any of this, so the T300 I think is the minimum for a drifting setup.

Currently trying to justify buying a T300 RS GT second hand to replace my beaten up Logitech DFGT. No matter how many videos of T300 RS I watch I'm still not sure.
In my opinion, it all depends on what games you are playing, what's your goal, what you are looking for from the next wheel, and also on which price you can find it used. The T300 is a good base, but it's really old. It has its flaws like overheating and dropping force feedback, the poor internal power source, which is hard to replace, and also its bad quick release system for the rims. If you can find it around 150 to 200$ and you're playing here and there I guess it's a good choice, but if you play often and want a better simracing experience I would recommend increasing the budget and get the Fanatec DD Ready2race bundle. Yes, it may cost 390 dollars, but it's so much better in every aspect than the T300. Plus, you always have the option to buy the booster kit and take it up to 8 nm.
@@Validonelo Yes. My recommendation is to buy G29 or T300 as cheap as possible for racing, T300 for drifting. Only if you somehow become pro sim racer you will benefit from direct drive wheels with load cell pedals.
@@scherpebocht Okay so, I tried T300 RS GT and also got a Fanatec CSL DD. I would say that if you can get a T300 for as cheap as possible would be a great choice, or if you have more to spend - CSL DD is a nice upgrade. T300 is more comfortable on a desk setup, while CSL DD works best on its dedicated desk/stand or whatever you are able to put it comfortably on so it does not interfere with your mouse and keyboard.
Everything is right. There is no reason to buy outdated shit from logitech, just like the expensive T300, when there are great direct-drive steering wheels on the market. At least moza r5.
there is if you play on p5 lol. there is no sub 500 direct drive wheel for ps5. you can get a second hand g29 for like 150 bucks. you execpt a ps5 gamer to invest in the 600+ gt dd pro?
@piper67890able You are right, and I missed this aspect in this video, mainly because I only play on PC, and I did the video from a sim racer point of view. Indeed, for console players, unfortunately, there is no affordable DD wheel, and it's a joke, honestly, because I learned from the comments section that there are a lot of console players, so this is a huge market.
It makes no sense to buy the g29 at all, since it does not have a force feedback at all, it is a toy. And a console gamer should first of all buy a PC, because on consoles everything is much worse with simulators, and with the ability to put 21 9 monitors or 3 monitors at once.@@piper67890able
Moza r5 are still way more expensive in my country. So t300rs is the only solid choice. Dunno they will release moza r3 soon in my country so maybe it will change, but for now its still t300rs.
Hi N.D.L.! Hope that you're well. I do appreciate the comparison review for this video. But I need to point out a few things. It would be great that if you can summarize the pros and cons for each wheel and pedals set rather than just dumb down one wheel and pedal set solely based on the NDL rating alone. For example, you can provide the driving confidence comparisons between the Thrustmaster T248 vs TSRW vs TGT 2 vs Moza vs Fanatec GT DD Pro with the given stock pedals respectively. This is needed because you need to convince viewers (whom they might be potential buyers) on why the driving confidence can affect lap time consistency in a long run depending on the chosen wheel and pedals set. That would be all.
Hi Eric, thank you so much for your feedback. I really appreciate it. I didn't just reduce everything to the N.D.L score for each wheel. I tried to give my opinion (yes, maybe I need to work on the details) on each wheel individually, why I like one and not the other, and then I gave each one an N.D.L score. The purpose of the Timbe battles that I do is not just the difference in time between wheels, which I consider a small factor in choosing a wheel, but rather the other factors that I point out through the N.D.L score. That's why I didn't include a criterion of speed in the N.D.L score, but rather consistency. Once again, thank you so much for your feedback, and I will take it into account for future time battles that I will do.

For what the cheaper stuff offers it’s pretty much at the price point of something of quality so it’s clearly pointless me being new to sim racing have reviewed multiple entry level wheel and pedal bundles ima just save my money to get something decent I can grow with being this isn’t a cheap hobby I believe in buying once and being done with it
Thank you, Owen. It's not VR. For Fanatec GT DD PRO i have a triple 32" screen setup with Asus Bezel free kit. The second simrig has a 49" inch Samsung Odyssey.
I actually have a video on the channel about it where I unbox and test it. It is really cool for such a low price and totally transforms the ES steering wheel.
Well, I only play with gloves because i have better grip on the wheels, I have a lot of alcantara wheels, which can be played just with gloves, otherwise after a few sessions they look like garbage. I actually have a full racing suite, and I filmed a video with it.

Hi my friend... You are doing an amazing job with your videos!!! I would like to ask you this... My oldest son (10 years old) plays on a ps5 console with a g29 wheel mostly racing games like WRC and he is incredibly fast.. I am thinking of upgrading him to a DD pro fanatec 5N wheel I would like your opinion your if worth it.. Thank you very much and sorry for my english❤️
Hi, man. Thank you so much. Well, the problem is that the CSL DD Ready2race is not console compatible. The only one console compatible is the GT DD Pro, which costs a bit more than the CSL DD. Buying a DD wheel will not make him faster, but it will help him to a stretch to drive better. What a DD will help with is the feeling it transmits. It makes the whole driving experience more immersive, closer to the feeling of driving a real car.
Thank you very much for your immediate reply..what can I say!! you are a gentleman ❤️I know that only the GT DD pro wheel is compatible..I will simply prefer to start with the (5Nm) torque so that there is no accident in his hands..I know there is an upgrade kit (8Nm)..anyway your answer satisfied me. Good luck my friend❤️❤
@user-ww7hq4pg5c My pleasure, man. Most probably, 5nm will also be a little bit too much for the beginning. Yes, it can be upgraded with the power booster kit to 8 nm of torque.
Arbitrary is every review, unboxing, gameplay, video out there on RUclips wouldn't you say? Of course it is, as I always say in my videos it is my opinion, my thoughts!
And also regarding the two "measurements", as you call them, I think they're two important factors to take in consideration when spending a huge amount of money on a steering wheel. Again, in my opinion. ;)
@@JulianNDL I respectfully think one can put a number with a fair degree of confidence on the other aspects you covered. Even subjectively. But "immersiveness" and "fun factor" could be defined in so many ways I just found it funny to think they provide an assessment of anything.
@chevalierdeloccident5949 Each category in the N.D.L score is arbitrary and receives a rating based on my perspective and experience with the driving skills I possess. Each score may vary for another person. If you want me to elaborate, I can tell you that for someone who is used to driving an R21, a Simucube or any ohter high end wheel base, their experience with the Moza R9 may be boring and dull compared to their experience with their wheel. The same goes for consistent lap times. Someone who drives worse than me won't achieve the same consistent lap times as I do, and someone who drives much better than me will likely achieve consistent lap times even with a G920. The fun factor and immersiveness work in a similar way. These are two factors that I personally consider very important when choosing a steering wheel. I don't understand your problem. Your problem is with my ideas. Dude, we are humans. As many people, as many ideas. I don't know, honestly, why waste time arguing or contradicting someone's personal ideas. If you like them or have something to gain from them, that's great. If not... what's the problem? Do we all have to think the same way? Anyways thank you so much for your comment and I respect your point, but I totally disagree with it.
Somehow, I don't agree with you because the hype about Moza is surreal right now, and Fanatec is somehow the ugly duck of the industry right now, and I can't understand why.
It's relative with one being more expensive than the other one. It depends on which products you are comparing. Yes, the R9 costs more than the GT DD Pro.
the issue is, some people like myself, who are looking for their 1st wheel, but prices vary and some of us once we buy we stick with it for years. The moza r5 bundle includes a clamp, and a good wheel, Fanatec is charging extra for everything. Moza bundle is 500$ usd. ready to plug and play. Fanatec is cheaper but just adding the table clamp pushes you to 530~$. What do you think?
@GK-ei9se Moza R5 is simply amazing for just 5nm. It is so close to Fanatec GT DD Pro 8 Nm. The difference feels bigger from the GT DD Pro to the R9. But, with the CSL DD, you always have the option to get the boost adapter so you can have 8 nm. Just for this reason, I'd choose Fanatec. If there would not be the booster adapter, I would choose the R5 because, overall, it is a better bundle. For 50 dollars, you can also get the Formula Mod and have a complete racing setup.
I didn't have the chance to test the CSL DD, but I own the GT DD Pro 8nm, which basically is the same as the CSL but with console compatibility. The R5 is not better. It's amazingly close to the GT DD PRO, but still, the GT DD Pro has better FFB, more detailed, stronger, and no overheating problems whatsoever, whereas the R5 had some overheating problems. The R5 has a superior QR system than Fanatec's QR1.
I wanted to include the PRICE category, but it wouldn't be exactly fair because prices vary so much. Just look at Fanatec's current price drop, Moza R5 also costs less now than when I bought it, and so on. Also, you can buy them used, as I bought most of my Fanatec wheels, and there the price varies a lot, and I wasn't sure how to give the score? 1 for being expensive and 5 for being cheap? So no, i don't think PRICE category would be fair to add. Everyone knows how much they cost, but not everyone knows how they perform, hpy they feel, what level of FFB detail they offer and so on.
You know… there are two type of people. One that knows what they want and just gets it, no matter what and the other one that gets lost in small annoying details.
Was this video about lap times or how the steering wheels feel and perform? Why does it always have to be with us men who has it the bigger? Trust me, kid, life is not just about that.
@@JulianNDL I understand that, what I'm assessing here is that your point is talking about comparing lap times based on the steering wheel you use, that's very pointless, because I see your inconsistent driving style, how can you compare lap times?
@TheAnugia I did not compare lap times! Did I say X is better because I managed to be faster with it? No! I talked about how each performs and how each feels! Lap times are just for informative purpose, if anyone cares about. I could not care less about lap times. As i previously said, you could be faster playing on a keyboard, or on a controller, but that is not the point of simracing, at least not my point in simracing! I wand the best feeling, and as close as it could get to driving a real GT/racing car, hence talking about the feeling each wheelbase gives you while driving/racing.
@TheAnugia Ang, again, lap times are irrelevant. It’s irrelevant that you or anyone else can be faster. With the driving skills I had when I recorded this video, I was able to get those lap times, and each wheelbase helped or not to get those lap times.

You know how they say the best camera is the one you have with you. The same can be said for steering wheels as well. The best steering wheel is the one you have or can afford. Being your first wheel is a great choice, given the fact that you don't have anything to compare it with. After a while, I'm sure you'll want more-better, faster. You'll start to get into DD wheels, and that's how you'll enter the rabbit hole of sim racing.
I have 3 options, first is the Moza Racing R5 Bundle, second Fanatec CSL DD P1 Bundle and third Thrustmaster T300RS with T-LCM Pedals and TH8A Shifter. I play mainly GT3 so I can also consider getting the Formula GT Add-On for the Moza wheel. Which one would you get?

I would say that if you can get a T300 for as cheap as possible would be a great choice, or if you have more to spend - CSL DD is a nice upgrade. T300 is more comfortable on a desk setup, while CSL DD works best on its dedicated desk/stand or whatever you are able to put it comfortably on so it does not interfere with your mouse and keyboard.
I have a t300 but I’m looking for the Moza R5 boundle.
What you think is a good deal ?
Without any doubt! The R5 is an amazing thing!
@@JulianNDL what if you have an xbox
@904_glizzy9 It’s a total different story, unfortunately.
@@JulianNDL so what do you think? Fanatec csl dd?
@904_glizzy9 Definitely one of the best options right now.
Wow! The best video about wheels a ever seen.
Well...thank you!;)

Wants to say good job with these videos
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it, man.
Im new to this hobby whats a good wheel for ps5 and pc and that have realistic force feedback
Unfortunately for PS5 there are not so many options right now. I can only recommend you the Fanatec GT DD Pro.
Everything is right. There is no reason to buy outdated shit from logitech, just like the expensive T300, when there are great direct-drive steering wheels on the market. At least moza r5.
Thank you!!! That's exactly my point.
there is if you play on p5 lol. there is no sub 500 direct drive wheel for ps5. you can get a second hand g29 for like 150 bucks. you execpt a ps5 gamer to invest in the 600+ gt dd pro?
Is 499 Euro for The t598 enough ? Need a Wheel for pc and ps5 and cant spent 700 for The fanatec dd pro …
Still a good Wheel i Hope
use the t248 on the FFB 3 setting it ups the sensitivity alot.... unless ya did ha.... then idk.....
Todo mundo reclamando dos sons que ele colocou no começo do vídeo, povo chato, o cara fez um vídeo comparativo bem legal, mas o pessoal não gostou porquê ele colocou barulhos no começo do vídeo.
If you can't drive a racing car, the best steering wheel won't help you, if you can't photographing, the best camera wil not help you.
Guess what? In my daily life, I'm part photographer and part videographer. And let me tell you how wrong you are. Yes, it won't make you better, but hell, it will help you a ton! These sayings are just like the one money doesn't make you happy! It's bullshit! And i'm telling you this after having a 50 bucks camera to a 5000 bucks camera and don't want to even mention the lens.
Every tool is designed to enhance your aptitudes, and with price come quality and better help from that tool, be it a camera, a wheel, heck even some scissors.
tbh ill die for the T300 im curintly playing on a diy cardboard wheel
Hi Cosmic. Where are you from?
@@JulianNDL Sadly , I'm form South Afrika
I´m currently playing racing games like asetto with a ps2 controller with a DIY adapter to usb, in a laptop that if i play longer then 40 ninutes it shuts down at the lowest graphics, i hope that helps your moral hahahahahaha
@@WASD453 The best gaming hardware is the one we have and afford. I'm rooting for both of you! I know you'll be able to buy the things you'll want.
The popping noises are so distracting an annoying.
I know this now, but unfortunately, I can't do anything about it now. It was stupid of me to use them, and this was the last video where I used them.
For what the cheaper stuff offers it’s pretty much at the price point of something of quality so it’s clearly pointless me being new to sim racing have reviewed multiple entry level wheel and pedal bundles ima just save my money to get something decent I can grow with being this isn’t a cheap hobby I believe in buying once and being done with it
Exactly my point of view.
That’s an insane sim rig tho, how did you get it to look like pov cause I don’t think thats VR
Thank you, Owen. It's not VR. For Fanatec GT DD PRO i have a triple 32" screen setup with Asus Bezel free kit. The second simrig has a 49" inch Samsung Odyssey.
@@JulianNDL ah nice!
I can’t watch do to the pop up sounds I’m sad
I'm so sorry to hear that, but luckily, thanks to you nice men who give feedback, this was the last video where is used the popup effect.
How did you get that Fanetec wheel on the Thrustmaster t300 base?😮
Hi David. I did not. It's just a Fanatec sticker covering the Ferrari logo. I just didn't like the yellow logo. :))
@@JulianNDL 🤣😄
Can i ask what car you used for this test?
Hi, Nick. Of course, man, you can ask me anything. It's the Lamborghini Huracan.
@@JulianNDL i am assuming the GT3 Huracan? Or the TCX cup car?
it would be interesting to see what you think about the Moza ES Formula wheel
I actually have a video on the channel about it where I unbox and test it. It is really cool for such a low price and totally transforms the ES steering wheel.
@@JulianNDL thanks, i'll check it out
This subtitle plopp sound is incredibily annoying.
Great video i watched it till the end
But why aren’t you suited up, you wore the gloves you might wear the whole gear as-well
Well, I only play with gloves because i have better grip on the wheels, I have a lot of alcantara wheels, which can be played just with gloves, otherwise after a few sessions they look like garbage. I actually have a full racing suite, and I filmed a video with it.
@@JulianNDL good for you mate, and thx for the video you made up my mind, im buying used T300 🔥
Great video, but the subtitle popping sound in the beginning is extremely annoying!
Thank you, man. I know it now, and this was the last video in which I used the shitty sound effect. The problem is that youtube doesn't allow us to edit the videos online because I would have removed them somehow and the funny thing is that even if this is the most hated video I created, mainly because of the popup sound, it is also my most watched and appreciated video.
Also, another thing that people didn't like was the A.I. voice, so that is why I also got rid of it, and now i'm doing the new videos with my own voice.
@@JulianNDL That's awesome! And thanks for sharing those interesting facts. Without those popping sounds and AI voice, I am pretty sure your content would be awesome (haven't watched your other videos yet). Do you know what time it is then? It's time to subscribe :)
@danieldey Thank you again. I really appreciate it. I'm actually working on another video like this one, but with more steering wheels. Asetek La Prima, Moza R9, Moza R5, Fanatec GT DD Pro, Thrustmaster T300, Thrustmaster T248,
Hi my friend...
@@JulianNDL Thank you very much!! Greetings from beautiful Greece ❤️❤️❤️
I stopped watching because of the pop sounds
"Immersiveness"? "Fun factor"? That's two ridiculously arbitrary measurements to offer on this kind of product, wouldn't you say?
What is with the distracting suction cup noise in your video?????
It was an editing mistake. :)
Fanatec Wins!
Let’s be honest Fanatec is blowing the competition away at the moment.
Somehow, I don't agree with you because the hype about Moza is surreal right now, and Fanatec is somehow the ugly duck of the industry right now, and I can't understand why.
@@JulianNDL Is Moza more expensive? Why would you want to pay more that’s what I think.
Do you think the moza r5 is better than the boosted csl dd?
I didn't have the chance to test the CSL DD, but I own the GT DD Pro 8nm, which basically is the same as the CSL but with console compatibility. The R5 is not better. It's amazingly close to the GT DD PRO, but still, the GT DD Pro has better FFB, more detailed, stronger, and no overheating problems whatsoever, whereas the R5 had some overheating problems.
The R5 has a superior QR system than Fanatec's QR1.
Direct Drive is the answer btw Running a Logitech G pro wheel 100% Fantastic with TRUEFORCE
I did not have the opportunity to try the G Pro but i've heard that the Trueforce is amazing.
Sounds and feels like a rattling toy all for £1000 lol
I love the NDL score 😁
Hehehe. Well thank you so much. I felt i had to give it a personal touch. 😄
Also include price in NDL score to be fair
Stop watching because of the annoying popping sound. JC !
You know… there are two type of people. One that knows what they want and just gets it, no matter what and the other one that gets lost in small annoying details.
I could beat your time with my g29 honestly😅

I bought a t248 for $240 brand new. My first wheel, good buy?
@@cezarh5473 Hi Cezar. Forget the T300rs, that should not be an option. Betwen the R5 and CSL DD i think i'd chose the Fanatec. More wheel options, even used ones, more power than the R5.
Yes, the CSL DD P1 is the 5 nm version, but you can later get the booster kit and have 8 nm.
The pops are annoying . So I will hit the dislike button
