what a story and what a great tribute. brought tears to my eyes, and laughter. what a body of work for Coryell and Fred Dryer and some average Joe coaches that all turned into greats
An exceptional eulogy! I’ve always thought Fred is very articulate & has a great sense of humor. It only proves how intelligent he really is. Fred and Clint Eastwood are my favorite actors/human beings ever. Wish Him all the best!
For me, Clint is in a whole great class by himself. Fred though, is part of my "Hollywood 5 way", my 5 favorite actors that I've ever enjoyed in my 20 some year life (my 1st visual encounter is in parenthesis): Fred Dryer (Hunter), Corbin Bernsen (LA Law and Major League), Michael Cera (Wayside: The Movie and Superbad), Burt Reynolds (The Cannonball Run and Smokey & The Bandit) and a random, rotating 5th one: right now it's Craig T. Nelson (Coach and The District).
What a great tribute to a great man and coach...This goes to show that you can be a success and not be a dik...It doesn't cost anything to be nice..Dryer's eulogy was deep...You could tell that Coach changed Fred's life big time...."Boy what a special guy"....Love that line
Thank you and Correct my friend. My dad is a dying breed. He is a gentleman amongst boys. A culture of boys. He is the best father. The best man and the best friend I know
@@caitlindryer8861 please tell your dad a fan from Venezuela said hi. I used to watch "Hunter" as a kid back in the 80's on monday nights. It was a big hit over here and of course many people still remember him and his catch phrase "Works for me", but in spanish of course because it was dubbed lol. I enjoyed this beautiful eulogy, and this look after many years at the great man i used to watch in one of the best TV shows of my childhood years.
@@kennyc388 How about an Hour... (Due to how Hunter is usually broadcasted/syndicated. 45 minutes, plus 13 minutes of ads and 2 minutes of damn good end/open titles.)
I always feel sorry, though, for "Dee Dee" having to wear those bulbous, poofed out, 1980s, women's power suits/jackets. Women's fashion in the '80s was as bad as men's in the '70s.
I watched all of the speeches and I am torn between laughing and crying. Fred Dryer delivered an exceptional, articulate and humorous speech that brought the house down.. Don Coryell was truly one of a kind. He had to be a little quirky to create the greatest offenses in NFL history.
This was awesome to watch these videos in succession and hear these men tell their stories about Don Coryell, I thought Madden said it best when he mentioned how Joe Gibbs, Dan Fouts and himself were all in the Hall of Fame yet Don Coryell was not...then added "Something is missing". Here's to the hope that Don Coryell get's his just due and is selected THIS time around.
Being a bit bummed about the result of Superbowl 53 , this really made me laugh & got my "Horns Up" Thanks Mr. Dryer ! What an insight into an incredible Coaching tree. Man that was funny !
I remember Fred well as our defensive right end for 3 years with the Giants number 89 with tremendous height, speed and quickness and he was so dismayed with the Giants lack of professionalism in moving into the modern era that he played out his option in 1971 and was traded to the Patriots in 1972. Years ago Fred talked about his time in San Diego State and the staff he played under and coach Coryell and how the Giants were so inferior to the Coryell led teams. They lost one game in the two years that Fred played there in 1967 and 1968. Great job Hunter!
Dang....something worth "liking" and I can not because it has been disabled because there is someone out there who would think negatively of this video. That's a shame, but still....this video is awesome!
Happy Birthday Fred Dryer! Imagine being one of the all time leaders in NFL sacks, playing in the Superbowl, having a successful Hollywood movie, and also a successful television series, Hunter, despite all of Fred's accomplishments, he is not even the most famous person born July 6th, 1946. He's not even the second most famous person born on July 6th, 1946. Those honors belong to George W. Bush and Sylvester Stallone...
If it was not for that cheapskate owner Eugene Klein. Don Coryell would have been in the Hall of Fame yrs. ago. Kept on allowing great players like J.J. and Fred Dean to leave because he did not want to pay them. Bastard!
Freddie.......what an awesome story teller and Don was a great character.
Fred Dryer would have been a GREAT Politician.
Fred Dryer was fantastic with this speech

FRED DRYER belongs in the NFL HALL OF FAME !!! ...........Air Coryell !!!
That was real good. 👍🙏
I have two Fred Dryer NFL cards from around 1969-70 I believe. I've had them for years, and still have no idea where I got them from.

True that!
Thank you. My dad is the best. Best story teller, best friend, best defensive end, best father. Absolutely the BEST father. ❤

Fixing lunch.
She’s about to back the station wagon onto your lawn
Dryer looks really trimmed and fit for his age.
Yeah, not a dude you would probably mess with.
