Yeah they did an amazing job with themes and character development in the 3 seasons with amazing fight scenes. I doubt they’ll have the brutal fights the series is great for and I hope to god there’s no mcu one liners.
I don't even see the point of making the show anymore (and I wanted Daredevil to return for so long). Why have it on Disney+? So it won't have the brutal fight scenes? So it won't have a singular vision? So it will have cheap writing? Why make 18 20 minutes long episodes? This sounds awful.

I think that the Kenobi series would look the best when it’s a movie (like how a fan did it) cuz it kinda feels like the scrapped Kenobi movie but reshot with terrible choreography, directing, script, breaks the lore, and with added filler to make it a “series”
I'd much prefer half as many shows with bigger budgets (and for the love of God, they need a better pool of writers).

Really does show the difference an experienced cinematographer is to one without a vision. Despite the boring screenplay of Rogue One, Greig Fraser’s cinematography still is gorgeous to look at.

In the 90s disney sequel movies went straight to video.
In 2022 they go straight to Disney+ for the same price of a AAA movie.

As someone whose streaming experience is all about anime, I’m at once appalled and indifferent about Disney+. On the one hand it’s like, “Oh my God. What the F*** are you doing?” But on the other hand it’s like, “Oh no…anyways.”

I am watching Daredevil for the first time and It makes me worried about what Disney's new Daredevil will be like
Daredevil and Punisher are some of my favourite shows ever, I’m absolutely terrified what Disney will do to them, because there ain’t no way either (if punisher ever even returns) show is going to be as dark or gory under Disneys control, the amazing actors can’t carry the show if the theme and plot is shit.
I hope Disney will fail massively in 2025 or smth to teach them a lesson…

12:12 This. Exactly this. I hope the more we go over the missed potential of these shows then people wouldn't be able to dismiss our statements as quickly/easily anymore. They feel they can because the common outlook for Star Wars, Marvel, or even DC is that it's something you watch *once* for the colors and spout surface-level positives. Hopefully, people will stop being so dismissive if we keep telling them why these shows and movies are poorly made.

@The Gamer i thought the same as you did at first. In Episode 4, Darth Vader says "when I left you" which does not necessarily mean "when I last saw you." Also, in A New Hope, Obi Wan seems to be completely resolute with Anakin being this hulking cyborg which would be weird if the last time he saw Anakin was on Mustafar. Obi Wan was also pretty sure that Anakin was going to die but in ANH he's well aware that he survived

I really can only remember the first and last episodes well of kenobi, the other episodes just blend together.
imo, the last two episodes where decent and the rest are bad…
From the moment I saw Daredevil in the thumbnail I immediately understand the point they are going to run him so bad in his own series
I had so much hope for kenobi, but the directing was so bad, the writing was pretty bad, and you could tell the volume was used in almost every shot. Thank goodness andor isn’t using the volume
Yeah, Andor looks *far* more interesting. But it doesn't feel good to expect more from a one-off character's show than freaking Kenobi.

Yeah TBOBF missed out on the tv show format Clone Wars and The Bad Batch have. That show barely had enough time to cover its premise, and it wasn’t even like a movie. Kinda hope Moon Knight season 2 is just… a normal superhero show in episode numbers. I love the show cuz the characters and brand, but 6 episodes…… No please. He needs to have 12+ episodes and show off his street level-ness

I don't think there's anything wrong with the format, the problem is the lack of effort on Disney's part to make the shows good or fit the format, but in theory the format is fine and is realistically how normal TV has worked

Very much agree. I just cancelled my Disney+ due to its poor content. After Kenobi, I decided I was done for now. But they just had a good quarter, so apparently, I'm an outlier.

I think animation suits the release style they’re going for way better than live action. You can recast expensive actors, build any set piece you want, and work under any style without risking cgi quality. Marvel’s What If wasn’t perfect, but I think it showed a lot of promise in the format.

It would be really cool of they remake Obi wan and Boba Fett in the Clone Wars animated style and fix the writing and other problems those shows had (or they can just forget about those shows completely since they don't really affect other canon stuff too much)

"It was poorly written, poorly directed, and co-dependent on fan service that has no substance" basically describes 90% of Disney Marvel and Star Wars for the last few too many years. I love both franchises, but I absolutely hate that what the Mouse is doing to my boys. I could forgive some of the directing and lighting if the writing wasn't so freaking bad. It's like they went out of their way to walk straight into creating plot holes for the original Star Wars film while vastly overestimating their ability to walk their way out of them. The woke crap from Disney was bad enough. I absolutely despise "the Disney+ formula," and I really hate the quality of writers (more like the lack thereof) that they've been hiring for basically all of their new movies and shows these days. It's not that I'm not interested in the Marvel and Star Wars properties anymore. I fully intend to go back to the stuff I actually liked. I just really hate the way they're doing things, and Disney needs to clean house and get it in order before they butcher whatever brand loyalty they have left beyond repair.
