Love how Steven Spielberg was brought back as a major creative consultant it really seems like he loves doing things like this. The park truly looks next level n definitely a game changer. The major quote is “a full week of universal” AKA no Disney involved 🤣
Did anyone notice the change of emotion in Marketing? Universal used to market themselves as the 'cool and thrilling' theme park. But Epic seems to be marketing itself as an 'emotional, magical and nostalgic' theme park. Very much trying to step into Disneys territory it would appear.
I think you’re exactly right, and this is why so many people are saying this park is such a threat to Disney. Attendance numbers have already been trending in this direction for several years now; if Disney starts losing those families who prefer the atmosphere of Disney but otherwise like Universal’s IPs better overall, they’re gonna be in trouble. Even if people spend 3 days at each rather than 4-5 days at Disney plus 1-2 days at Universal that’s still going to hurt Disney quite a bit.
@@JFrombaugh I'm not in the camp of 'Epic is the last nail in the Disney coffin.' But likewise you'd be a fool if you didn't think Epic is going to be something very special. Universal has been winning people over, and I see no reason Epic isn't going to compound that effect.

I've been visiting Universal Studios since I was a toddler, witnessing its many changes. Now, at 27, I find myself overwhelmed with emotion. This place holds countless special memories with family, including those who are no longer with us. One of my earliest favorites was ET; I rode it at 3, and revisiting it recently brought tears, realizing it's still active. Universal is incredibly special to me, and after a decade away, my recent visit was filled with awe, especially with the new Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Now, I'm eagerly anticipating my upcoming adventure at Epic Universe, ready to create even more cherished memories with my family.
the thing that surprises me most is that disney spent around 7 years on a cloned coaster and then in like5-6 years universal built what might be the best park in the world. its either that or the new six flags park
@metallicnole4514 If this doesnt hurt Disney, then unfortunately, the sentence "we're Disney! We dont need to do anything" might be true. Lets hope this one bites a big chunk of Disney.

I went to Islands of Adventure during its opening year and there was truly nothing like it at the time. I absolutely cannot wait to experience that feeling again when I go to Epic Universe.
My guess is that the portals will be one of 2 or three entries into each land, kind of like how disneyland opens their backstage area behind main street during fireworks. Obviously not ideal. But if they need to expand those portals somehow they probably can
It’s funny how Disney and universal have sort of switched their theming practices with Disney using a lot more screens and universal ramping up their practical effects.
I give all the props to universal! Im a huge disney fan and to see how far universal has become is great to see. But it is also crazy how far disney has fallen and is letting universal take market share away from them. Disney has announced multiple attractions the past five years and almost half of them never happened, in addition to re-announcing new stuff that still have yet to even make movement. And Universal announces this theme park and is going to be done next year. Guardians and Tron took 5 years to build! Insane, props to universal and shame on disney. The direction they are going is sad to see, but they deserve all the criticism and universal deserves all the praise for what they’ve done the past 5 years.
Surprised they dropped this so early, it's likely going to impact Orlando tourism pretty hard this year with people waiting to take their vacation next year when the park opens. I bet Disney and Universal are going to be offering mad deals this summer.
Marketing rule of first. I'm sure they will drip feed us news throughout the year so it gives them plenty of time to build the hype. All for the deal packages this year!
I cried watching the video too. 😆.. I'm a 47 year old mother of 4 sons 2 grown and 2 teenage sons and my husband and I can't wait to go here with our boys! We all love rides and Universal. It's going to be so fun!!
The fact that this is happening is UNREAL!! This will for sure be the best park in Florida! This makes IOA look like Legoland, and THAT is saying alot!
Dark Universe will be my favorite land, to be sure. I mentioned on another page that a really smart move would be to build a theater venue styled after the Parisian opera house (Palace Garnier) from Phantom of the Opera. That would open up a lot of possibilities for future events and also for an indoor sanctuary space for incredibly hot days. There was mention on the same page of a possible indoor boat ride expansion centered around Creature From the Black Lagoon which would be awesome. I would love to see a new Mummy attraction a well. The Mummy coasters in existence are lackluster compared to what can be done nowadays. A family mine train style coaster or themed water coaster would be an excellent expansion addition for that property. How To Train Your Dragon will be really high my land list as well. Favorite ride, will probably be (despite being a thrill ride enthusiast) the Celestial Carousel. I love a beautiful carousel and the concept art is beyond stunning. One of my home parks growing up was Six Flags Great America which has that spectacular double carousel so it's a huge nostalgia thing for me.
Super pumped for this! And the smart business move for disney is to not respond to epic right away, sit back and see what they can do to respond with new tech and rides that come out. That’s healthy, smart competition
Im trying to save money from now to go in summer of 2026?! I feel like then will be a good time. And MAAAYBE the rumored creature from the black lagoon ride will be announced by then!!!😻

I’ve heard it’ll be somewhat similar to the Gringott’s ride but will have its own unique identity and be longer (which is a huge plus in my book. I really enjoy the gringott’s ride but my major complaint is that it’s so short haha)
I am currently on a vacation to Florida for the first time. It was an opportune moment for me to come and it pisses me off that I might not be able to return in a while. And yeah, if it looks like the concepts, and the lines aren't all 2 hours this will be the best park in the world. Time will tell.
Looks beautiful. I think the choice of lands is strange though. Love the idea of fully immersive lands but wonder if having so many zones specific to franchises would put off people who arent interested in any of them.
Honestly, as a coaster enthusiast & all, I think Starfall Racers is the ride I'm most excited about. It looks like a very good layout, and I think it definitely has the potential to beat Twisted Colossus if Universal plays their cards right with the theming & makes sure it's always a guaranteed duel every time.

im actually glad they wont have fast pass since that actually makes the lines longer since they take more fast past people. for example when disney opened in like 2021 they did not have fast pass and the lines were fast as hell.
Even tho we already have one in the US and it’s open in Japan, I’m still the most pumped for Nintendo. It’s the biggest most fleshed out version yet, no compromises, and that Donkey Kong coaster is looking insane. Also there are strong rumors of a Luigi’s Mansion mini land as the next expansion there.
I was about to book this as a holiday earlier today from the UK… Flight on the website, Stella Nova hotel on the website, but no park tickets for EPIC universe, only existing parks had tickets available…..Meh 😏

It's as if the design brief was, nothing plain, nothing boring, there has to be something going on everywhere (design wise, not necessarily attraction wise)
I'm curious what other IP they would have put in place of Nintendo at this park since it was planned to replace the Kidzone area as late as 2019, prior to the initial park announcement.
I worry the first few days will fail from too many people coming in but hopefully universal is SMART and limits the amount of guests and everyone is well spread out

I'm excited for it but I do have to say I don't personally care for the styling of the middle part of the park. It's a similar concept to islands, but instead of 'islands' they are 'worlds' I guess. It does feel a bit like a central space in a video game where you teleport to different locations, more so than islands where you walk around the perimeter through each one. I do like that part of it. I just don't care for the look, I'm not sure what else it could be, but it just doesn't look or feel very original to me. It reminds me of cheese cake factory or something.
Every year that the budget people at Disney take money away from Imagineers the parks stop being so magical... Maybe this will force them to give their best people free rein.
Yeah, but they put a lame outdoor coaster in the middle of dark kingdom. Destroys the immersive experience. That’s the first dud I’m saying. As well as the horrible Mario karts race ride. I wanted this part to be great. But I see two things I don’t like already.
