At around 3:20, you say that Spearmaster likely does not have the mark of communication because Suns didn't think communication was necessary. This is explicitly disproven in one of the broadcasts findable in their campaign, in which Suns explains to NSH that they didn't give Spearmaster the mark largely because it only allows for one-way communication, and Suns wanted Spearmaster to be able to talk back to them, so Suns taught Spearmaster sign language instead of just giving them the mark.

About number 5, this actually exists in the real world, in the form of self-healing concrete. The name encompasses a few different methods of self-healing, including bacteria that generate calcium carbonate. Another method is the reason that lots of Roman concrete has survived two millennia, as the use of imperfect lime and seawater lead to pockets of undissolved lime within the concrete, which would 'activate' when cracks in the concrete exposed these pockets to water.

Rivulet's Pearl seems really intentional. It's basically a drawn path to the linear power rail (which houses the Rarefaction Cell). Moon also mentions that the lymphatic conduit is of a more modern iterator model, such as Five Pebbles. Cystic Conduit makes a lot of sense....

I was looking to say the same, at first it just seemed random with pebbles ignoring it and moons description feeling irrelevant at the time. But with greater context, it definitely seems to be a 'rough' guide through a pebbles-esque structure, to a 'location we end up needing to go to' esque map. Plus the mark, seems likely they were expected to find moon or maybe pebbles, and use this knowledge to basically do what we do in the campaign. Of course reality doesn't have every plot device work, and this feels like one of those. It could have been used as a story point, maybe pebbles reads and is able to map it for you instead of sending you blind... But alas, it goes unused beyond lore for us here and now.

I have a theory for what the symbols at 14:15 represent is iterators. The sun looking one is red, and also SRS has a sun on his forehead, and the green one is paired with hunter. These could be something about in what way each iterator helped, such as Hunter coming from NHS to revive her and pebbles giving her his refraction cell. Though, I'm not sure what the gray one means. Could be SOS or some other iterator such as Chasing Wind or even someone else.

I feel like the orange symbol is SRS due to the second message seemingly having being sent by it and the rarefaction cell being mentioned in it
Would somewhat explain where rivulet came from as rivulet definitely has MANY modifications and SRS made them specialized for water due to the overseers most likely showing that moon collapsed
Something that also supports it is that SRS is the only iterator confirmed to have full control over it's facility (I think) and rivulet being fully normal without any hunter shenanigans

I think the grey symbol wich turns blue and the Orange one below it wich turns grey represent Moon and Pebbles respectively, with Moon's symbol lighting up once she gets the Rarefaction Cell and at the same time Pebbles' becoming grey as he loses the last of his power. This is also supported by the fact above the Rarefaction Cell symbol you can see the Pebbles symbol, wich could be associating the Cell to Pebbles.

I believe it is the green Metropolis pearl that best explains (at least in my opinion) the difference in appearance between Moon's city and Pebbles' city. Pebbles' transcription states that the Precipice was built for "a mass migration of citizens out of Moon's city." This explains (again, in my opinion) why Pebbles' city is so much larger, more residential and more jumbled, as it would have had to accommodated the populations of both cities, necessitating mass expansion of housing. If you can find a way to get this same Pearl to Moon (through expedition or otherwise) she further adds that it was due to "oversights (...) in the long term scalability and sustainability of some of [her] functions" meaning Pebbles' cityscape has to some degree been shaped by a massive resource-related refugee crisis.
Also, keep up the fantastic content Daszombes!

Although I do like the idea of reverse French; where it started off stupid and they decided to do it right halfway through, instead of doing it properly at first but giving up until they ended up with "Sir, you were going four-twentys-ten-eight in a sixty-ten zone."

I think Rivulet's pearl is pertinent. It specifically highlights the rarefaction cell and how to get to it inside of a "newer" iterator, ie Pebbles.
My guess is that an Iterator beyond our local group is aware of the state that Moon is in, possibly aware of the state that Pebbles is in as well, and comes up with their own plan of how to help Moon specifically; perhaps out of malice or sense of justice against Pebbles, or in a desperate or misinformed desire to help Moon. Moon hazards a guess that Riv is from beyond NSH or CW, supporting that it's not a local Iterator.
They either created or came into contact with Riv, gave them the mark of communication so that the pearl could be read to them, and put their faith and plan into the little wet guy. It lines up nicely with a common theme of the other slug cats, that being a huge amount of faith is placed into the smallest of creatures. Small hopes, that despite the odds, just might make it.
At 14:06, these could be messages, as some of the symbols line up with Iterators we know, like SRS and NSH. The grey one could be CW. The orange one which I don't have an Iterator to match it with, has the rarefaction cell in the footer. That could be the mystery Iterator who sent riv, having sent a message that they were trying to help, only Moon wouldn't have received it until being powered on again.
Edit: On closer inspection, the messages at the end are probably just Moon and Pebbles. Blue and orange are their colors, and the greyed out versions likely correspond to their disconnection from from the Iterator discord group after suffering can opener failure.

no i suspect the reasion saint dont see the leviathen maybe 1 of 2 factors i see. 1 even the void is crumbling, a echo of existance created by the anicents when they was in their zelot of primity, or 2 given his post win screen is when ya go to replay as him is the same as the echos, maybe because of his determination or designation to beoing so void touched, means he nativly CANT move on, forever tired to the dying world but more so as the one who was like silver and could move past that barrier but has not figured fully out the rest of the details. but eh ya do got a funny idea.

I'd say Saint's ultimate goal is ascending every living being (or atleast just the iterators) on the planet. He could ascend, but he purposefully decides to flip off the void worms and return back to the material world, so he can get back to ascending others. This also ties nicely with the theory that Saint is the triple affirmative, and was created by Sliver of Straw as the solution to global ascension.

about the comparisons of moon and pebbles' cities/cans in number 6, i'm pretty sure it's been explained somewhere in one (or more) pearl(s), though im not entirely sure since it's been a while since i've reread all the pearls.
We all know moon is pebble's senior or "older sister" because she was built first. pebbles was built almost in a haste since moon was an older model, she had some oversites in her construction causing it to become more dangerous to live on her as time went on. the ancients wanted to build pebbles for all the ancients that were willing to move to a much safer and modern model. once the bridge was built, they (mostly) all packed their bags and moved to pebbles. All this explains why pebbles and moon was built so closer to one another with a bridge connecting them and why pebbles was built on top of a religious citadel. Not only that, it explains why pebble's city is bigger and the other differences between the two. The buildings in moon's city could also possibly be older constructions which could explain why the buildings look different from pebble's. That, or moon's city was repurposed to a factory.
Also, due to Moon being an older model with some oversites, she has more exposed internals where spearmaster was easily able to wander into unlike with pebbles where most of his internals were hidden within walls until in rivulets campaign where the rot exposed those previously hidden rooms.

At 14:04 My theory for the orange symbol is that it's meant to symbolize moons heart, giving the four small dots with the giant dot in the middle, especially because the other picture is the cell you place into moon's heart. And with the picture at 15:42 adding on your theory is it might be a map, because theirs 3 symbols close together which can mean five pebbles, moon and NSH. Especially given the fact that we know they are all nearby.

The white line might also indicate the order they were built. Say the first one connected to the center symbol is NSH. The line coming from NSH would lead to moon. After looping around the outside, the ancients start making the newer model iterators placing 5p in between moon and NSH. The line trailing off the image would be iterators built after 5p.

At 2:51 you say that Rivulet is likely purposed by an iterator, but we don't actually know this for sure. The Rivulet has the Mark of Communication, yes, and they have their pearl, but it's entirely plausible that the Rivulet evolved naturally and met an iterator midway through their life. In fact, the Steam Store page for Downpour (which I don't consider to be canon, but is still worth investigating) explicitly says that the Rivulet is "an aquatic evolved slugcat". The Rivulet also opens up an interesting question, about iterators using messengers that they didn't explicitly purpose, but moreso just stumbled upon. We see this in the Rivulet's campaign when Five Pebbles sends the Rivulet off to deliver the mass rarefaction cell. Equipment damage is the most likely reason an iterator would choose a messenger like this.

this idea does get supported by the fact that by this time we may see moon receving messages that proably got captured from the all calls before the system callapsed, still lodged in long term memory, but ya likly purposed organisms like spearmaster *or if it made made a mate if it did return to SRS likly would be a thing or ya rivilot who just stumbled appon a can and made their way into the center just out of curosity only to be given the task of being a messanger to the local can. something tells me the peral it has maybe a long distance scan of pebbles can and someone send rivilot to eather aid them or moon, maybe just maybe the reasion pebbles gives it the cell to transport is because he read the peral realised the critters mission and knowing his own fall gave the cell up to empower moon so she may at lest be in a less sorry state then he will be in proably a 100 cycles time if i had to guess he knew callapse was gonna happen and SOON so to minimise damage, and may as well make it useful. he gave it to moon, also the reasion i say minimise risk is because we know the singularirty bomb is likly the center of one such refactory cell (by moons word we learn there is a ton of them in a can and they are really dangerous if they go bang) but pebbles knowing his fall gave it to moon so she can survive but also to get rid of his last one that can be reached so he does not have to deal with the HUGE HOLE it would make because if somehow the cell DOES get destroied it goes like the singularity bombs and thoes do a shitting ton of damage apperintly. i suspect the bombs the scavs have are broken cells but made just stable enough to weaponize.

  • @T3sl4
    @T3sl4 11 месяцев назад +7

Moon's "tree" diagram seems to me more like a technical drawing -- the aesthetic of green lines routed about, with circles, and possibly even diodes and capacitor or relay contact symbols, is very recognizable. The more vividly colored elements bring to mind a smoother, continuous, yet complicated and branching structure, perhaps a manifold, you might even say a _karmic manifold_. Perhaps even related to that inversion she was working on (MS yellow pearl)?
The "friends list", with the magnificent symmetry of polygons and spirals, brings to mind a mandala, "a geometric configuration of symbols; in various spiritual traditions [particularly Buddhism and others], mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction" [Wikipedia]. The symbols on the chain of white circles could well be as suggested; if the overall diagram is related to spiritual research, it could be related to some common problem (what problem could it be?... or, less obviously: subproblem thereof, perhaps) the local group was collaborating on. It's too bad there's no (top-down) aerial view of the local group; then again, if one wanted to make OC/mods involving their geographic arrangement, this might be as good a start as any..!
Else, the chain suggests a sequence, which could imply a numbering of the symbols; but that would be rather redundant, and more sensible might be that the symbols index a list elsewhere. It's a much less interesting idea, granted, but consider Pebbles's pearls: they're just gibberish without the context they were operating within. Proverbially: sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. :)

Sorry sorry, as das talks about how he has no idea what the symbol at the top here could mean, I think this not only semi confirms rivulets origins, but also semi confirms a niche theory I had about ancient writing.
The symbol at the top in the previous image you said was showing the slag reset key, which I think is true, except you'll notice this looks very similar to NSH's supposed crest; except shaped like a neuron fly. Well the symbol on the second image looks eerily similar to SRS's crest, and it is used in conjunction with the karma 3 symbol. The karma 3 could mean a lot of different things in this context, but all of them would fit with the idea that Suns was actually the one to send rivulet, or at least give them the mark of communication.
For the "niche theory I had about ancient writing," it just confirms that iterators and maybe people had custom symbols used to represent their name in writing. The reason I thought this might be the case is because of both of the moon related achievements, which both include a small circle that seemingly has no place considering the usage of circles in writing.

At 13:46 on the Hunters page we can see a green symbol which looks almost exactly like NSH's symbol, as well as Sun's symbol on the right side (along with two others). My theory is that this is a type of e-mail, where NSH sent it out to the local group publicly where they could then receive replies from the other members. Going by this on the next page we can see an e-mail sent by an orange iterator, as well as the true colour of the iterator in the previous page (I'm not sure what the comment being greyed out means specifically). Looking at Spearmaster's broadcasts I believe that the orange iterator is Gazing Stars and the blue iterator is either Chasing Wind or Wandering Omen (I would say CW is more likely since they are in the local group). This would both mean they still have some form of communication going on between them all (maybe through purposed beings) AND that it's highly likely that Gazing Stars sent Rivulet with the pearl since his symbol is on the same page as the refraction cell.

For number 2. i think rivulet, atleast isn't a purposed organism just from the dev commentary and moon's dialogue. The devs mentioned rivulet may have had a pretty adventurous life and that mending the bond between two Gods was just one of their many misadventures. Moon also calls their gills as natural adaptations to the world of constant flooding. Remember that everywhere else is also experiencing these rains it's not a coincidence that slugcats who evolved in a rain world are le good at traversing le rainworld
For number 4. Inspectors and DDLs don't move the same way. Inspectors actually hover with their wings while DDLs use tentacles to move around. And the moving pustules are just rot that has become mobile, those DDLs attached to walls are going to break off at some point and start moving on their own through pipes like mobile cancer. The rot doesn't take in genetic material, it just consumes and replicates itself evident at saint where the rot even though it has been a really really long time hasn't changed even evolved a bit nor even adapted and remained as a reliant cancer that's dying to the elements because their host is now a barely living carcass meaning atleast the rot isn't capable of evolution, Thank the Gods it isn't
For number 6. With the image of the mass refraction cell and a quite familiar 4 dots on the head. as well as a rather highly segmented sentence structure, i think that's five pebble's apology to moon that he sent after or maybe during rivulet's balls-napping escapade

The large mishmash image and anatomy image with the nodes seem to have sections of technical circuit diagrams for large circuit boards, the symbols for capacitors, diodes and (IIRC) resistors seems to be visible, and the vessels may be a mirrored portion of a vessel mapping of the human brain. Funny how familiar data forms become meaningless, or even alien when the context is destroyed. FP's mishmash image seems to have several european metro system maps and some more technical images, perhaps images of silicon integrated circuit dies.

13:50 so I think the symbols in the top left of this image are showing the symbols of the iterators, like their profile pictures, like the one above hunter is green and has a similar shape to nshs head thingy, which makes sense because nsh made hunter, and that symbol appears for the middle right twice, seemingly implying that these are chatlogs with nsh being the two most recent, suns after that, and then possibly grey wind? The orange one could be five pebbles (orange and 5 dots) or unparalleled innocence maybe, which is interesting since the orange appears above the rarefaction cell in the next picture, maybe saying it was pebbles who sent the rarefaction cell, or implying rivulet was sent by innocence if the orange symbol isn't pebs, but that leaves the question of why the symbols change color in the middle right in the second image

The weird static is probably every time a record was taken. The area below it is probably a tab list. I can't tell really what the first 3 are, since we don't see their contents but the first two might relate to processing due to the use of the neuron symbol. The 4th is probably relating to water, considering it's color and that stuff related to the slag keys are listed under it. The last tab is for sure power, considering it's related to the rarefaction cell.

While playing Rivulet on Expedition mode, I sat on that strange ledge thing in Moon's room, that deteriorating wall, and Moon projected that image while in the air surrounded by her neurons. I'm not sure if it's because I was sitting there, but maybe something similar triggers it?
EDIT: Moments later, Moon projected the second one, the green mishmash of coding. I think these are triggered by standing still away from Moon, because that is when she moves herself into the air.

The difference between the cities atop FP and BSM is explained somewhere, I think either in a pearl or iterator dialog/transmissions.
LTTM's city was built much earlier, so seems to follow the structure of a real life city, with grids of blocky skyscrapers. I think the big sphere structure is meant to be shaped like a moon, either as a little shrine to their iterator or some functional building as well. I think it's spherical structure could also indicate that it is a planeterium/observatory, where the ancients could look to the moon and the stars without the obstruction of clouds. Also, the theory about it being a more industrious city makes sense, as earlier on the ancients may have used them to produce the parts nessecary to construct either cities, probably including FPs city, and you can see the city in it's destroyed state in Bitter Aerie. I know Bitter Aerie could be intended to be past the east side of the Submerged Superstructure, but the way it's destroyed buildings roughly match what we could see from Luna in the SM campaign, and the fact we can see there is ocean on the other side of SS by going upwards from the Heart entrance makes me think it is on top of LTTM.
FP's city was built later, when established blueprints of living models were being constructed to build enourmous cities on mass, probably to save on labour. You can see these modular stacks from the city view room, and much closer up in Metropolis. I think another reason for doing this could be because FP may have been built towards the mass ascension part of the timeline, when the ancients started their final push to ascend everyone, so the city was more meant to be a temporary accomodation while ancients waited for their chance to ascend rather than a permanent living place.
Back to speaking of Bitter Aerie, when we get to it as Rivulet, it is already coated in snow. This acts both as a foreshadowing of Saint's campaign combined with what we learn of the fate of FP, and an indicator that because LTTM was 99% dead for ages, the snow has already encroached from the surrounding land. However, I do think the ice age of Saint's campaign was a climatic ice age, as otherwise the Outer Expanse would be much more of a tundra than a lush jungle. Some times between Survivor/Monk's and Rivulet's campaign the ice age mustv'e already started, and the jungle would've been replaced with a cold tundra outside the superstructure areas, which would remain heated by the iterators until much later on when most of them have rotted or collapsed from lack of maintenance. This would also explain how the extinction of Green Lizards and adaptation of the Winter Yeaks had enough time to take place and move into the superstrucure areas to benefit from the lingering heat from the increased Scav activity and LTTM.
Ok I have one more theory, about the Precipice. It seems to be similar to the bridge in Chimney Canopy, so they were probably designed to allow access to the Communications Array (Sky Islands) and Looks to the Moon's superstructure respectively. Ancients and purposed beings would've used these bridges to do maintenance on Sky Islands and The Exterior/Struts and Vents, but the cable along the Precipice, mentioned by LTTM and visible all the was through the region, was probably a massive shortcut pipe to take citizen ancients between the cities without having to walk through Underhang's electrical storms and death pits or fall off the Wall.

Also, the symbols next to the iterator profile pictures, probably are their names written in the games language

6 Unexplained Curiosities or mysteries related to rain or rainfall in general.
Please note that these are not specific to Rain World Downpour but are atmospheric phenomena or natural curiosities associated with rain:
Blood Rain: Occurrences of "blood rain" have been reported in various parts of the world throughout history. It is a phenomenon in which rainwater appears reddish or brownish, giving the impression of blood falling from the sky. The exact cause of blood rain is not completely understood, but it is thought to be due to the presence of suspended microscopic particles in the atmosphere, such as dust or algae.
Rain of Animals: There have been rare instances where rainstorms are accompanied by the falling of animals such as frogs, fish, or even small birds. This phenomenon, known as "animal rain" or "animal precipitation," is believed to occur when strong winds or waterspouts lift and carry animals from their habitats, eventually depositing them over a specific area during rainfall.
The Smell of Rain: Many people have experienced the distinct earthy and pleasant smell that accompanies rainstorms, especially after a dry spell. This smell, often referred to as "petrichor," is caused by the release of certain compounds and oils from plants, bacteria, and soil into the air when raindrops hit the ground.
Rain Shadows: Rain shadows are areas on the leeward side of mountains that receive significantly less rainfall compared to the windward side. As moist air is forced to rise over a mountain range, it cools and condenses, resulting in rainfall on the windward side. However, as the air descends on the leeward side, it warms and dries out, creating a rain shadow effect.
Virga: Virga refers to streaks or wisps of precipitation that fall from clouds but evaporate before reaching the ground. It often appears as long, trailing curtains of rain or snow that hang beneath clouds. Virga occurs when the air beneath the cloud base is extremely dry, causing the precipitation to evaporate before it can reach the surface.
Rainbows: Rainbows are optical phenomena that occur when sunlight is refracted, reflected, and dispersed by water droplets in the air, typically after a rain shower. They form a circular arc of colors in the sky, with red on the outer edge and violet on the inner edge. Double rainbows, supernumerary rainbows, and moonbows are some variations of rainbows that can occur under specific conditions.

I have very mixed opinions on Rain World Downpour when it comes to its lore, i think discussions about the base game without downpour should also continue, yet for the most part they currently only focus on Downpour. A lot of Downpours lore wasnt really made by the original devs, and it goes in a very different direction story telling wise, not that theres a problem with this.
In the base game, the player slugcats besides maybe the hunter are quite ordinary creatures who live as a part of nature, they are not and do not feel like “main” characters with special unique abilities that set them apart from not only other slugcats, but creatures in the ecosystem. Gourmand and Rivulet both feel like quite ordinary characters, its possible that Rivulet is just part of a species descended from slugcats. Gourmands ability to infinitely regurgitate food and craft literal living creatures I believe is not really entirely canon, and just a gameplay feature, so I think he is just another quite ordinary though intelligent slugcat. Artificer, spearmaster and saint especially all feel quite different from the other characters, not that theres a problem with it, but it reflects the changes in story telling between the DLC and main game.
When looking into Downpour lore, do so with a dousing of salt. Whenever there is a contradiction between it and the base game, I prefer to believe that it was simply a mistake, for example Downpour suggesting that Survivors campaign takes place right after he falls, while the base game suggests that he has been wondering around for a very long time. The devs of the DLC mentioned that this specific part was done mostly as fan service, and shouldnt be taken as correcting the base game.

This is backed up by the fact that in the dev commentaries they're really not confident in just outright stating things about the lore, often saying it's their "headcanon" and to come up with your own theories and reasons why certain things are the way they are. This could be partially because they want things to be kept vague but I also think it's perfectly understandable to be hesitant when you don't know the original vision and intended lore with 100% certainty.

We’re not asking the Real questions. How the H e l l does age even work in rain world. Like, nothing is seen to be old. But we’ve seen creatures in their juvenile state, mainly slugpups. So like. Does the cycle just stunt your growth at some point, but then Moon also said that Rivulet was “taken away with time” Does that like, imply that Creatures can d i e of age? If so then the ancients wouldn’t have wanted to die so bad considering it was an inevitability. So is it just that Riv just l e f t at some point and age does stunt? If so W h y ? I. Man, just.

Theory on one. The Scav King was given the mark by Looks to the Moon, and led his people on an exodus from the top of Moons can to the top of Pebbles before the former fell. It explains why he could get the door open, at least. And before the disaster, it is clearly mentioned in lore that the huge bridge between the cans was intended as an emergency evacuation route.

I’m pretty sure those symbols are actually Iterators. The green one is spot on with NSH’s pattern in his head, the yellow one also has Pebbles’ head markings. You can also see a sun with a red background, indicating Seven Red Suns

  • @youraverageteaenjoyer

  • @loading2893
    @loading2893 11 месяцев назад +2

Around 13:50 you talk about coloured symbols on backgrounds shown in moon’s projections and these are most likely message logs as the coloured symbols have details that link them to iterators like the green one being close to the symbol located on NSH’s fore head and the red one being a sun for SRS and one that is a little less on the nose being the orange one having five objects that could be interpreted as pebbles. The grey one may be chasing wind as he is also referred to as grey wind but I have not much there

I think it supports something related to some previous data. There's a broadcast (brown) in subterranean where Chasing/Grey Wind refers to it as THE Rot, mentions it's severe, and the larger cysts have become mobile. This implicates that 1. This sort of stuff already existed some extent, and others know. 2. It's either unusual for those things to have limbs, or that's what happens when it gets bad enough.

  • @dantebayer919
    @dantebayer919 6 месяцев назад +1

I thought about where rivulet came from, and i think the most likely iterator is either sliver of straw, or somwone near. With a pearl of a slightly damaged structure, menaing probably nothing in particular damaging it, but it falling into disrepair after they died. The pearl was probably more recently given to them by another iterator, in case moon didn't know how the structure was holding up. Because all creatures are technically immortal in this game, he could have been traveling since before spearmaster, and been sent from straw just before they died.

14:00 I think it's the iterator icons, the green one is No Significant Harassment, because it's displayed on top of the Hunter's page, and the yellow one with the refraction cell might be Five Pebbles, since the cell belongs to him, or maybe whoever sent Rivulet. 15:23 Maybe these are the maps of the cities on top? The thing in the top left corner kinda looks like a compass. Though, Moon's map lacks any round structures that we can see in her city. Maybe it's just a part of a bigger map. It seems to me that these are schematic maps drawn on top of the actual photos of the location, Moon's one being the night view of the city, and the Pebbles' one being turned on its side.

13:43 BROOO WAIT- the top symbol could be referring what sent the creature. For the screens shown Green could be referred to NSH and orange to who ever sent Rivulet. I'm only guessing this because on the side we see a red sun so I'm guessing SRS? These could be iterator icons- this then could also tell us other iterator color schemes (at least their symbols) and possibly who sent Rivulet somewhat- not the name but at least some idea.

The second to last symbol is the combination of its four surrounding symbols. The "roof" from Survivor, the "walls" of companionship and the whole violence/wrath and food/gluttony symbols. Its meaning is probably a combination of these 4 meanings like we have seen with other "compound" symbols. It's basically "a helping hand" without the "information" symbol inside but food and wrath instead. Maybe it means "the lifestyle of comsumption through violence (or violent comsumption) for/with others".

well, don't forget that the mark of communication also gives you max karma, meaning the chieftain scavenger wouldn't've needed to talk to an echo as he already has the mark of communication. However, since the O karma gets replaced in max karma, it's more likely this is just a mistake caused by the fact that all scavs can have I and O karma which is another mystery entirely-

I think the thing at 13:40 might be the "iterator chat" screens/screenshots.
And the green and brownish orange symbols in top left represent NSH and Pebbles respectively. It might be a stretch but the green one resembles SNH's head symbol, and the brown one has 5 oblong shapes. They also have 3 and 2 ancient letters next to them respectively for NSH and FP/5P. They also kinda fit as a note of "sender" for the hunter and rarefaction cells which are displayed beside them.
The 5 symbol set on the right side could also fit with this, being a contact list perhaps? Blue one being moon, she was offline at the time of the Hunter, and pebbles is down on the rarefaction's screen. Not sure why would Moon have a contact to herself and two to NSH but that's the best I can come up with.

Regarding Artificer's abilities if you try messing around with it you'll find that even in the playable dream segments before Artificer's children were lost she still had the ability to blast jump the exact same, so I find it more likely her abilities are just... natural, somehow. Especially because she can just swallow a rock and something inside her causes it to become explosive, and how she reacts when underwater for just a short time, blowing herself up - she seems to interally have some kind of volatile substance that her body produces.

The orange icon likely represents Five Pebbles- the presence of five circular objects combined with the Ancient symbol for "rock/stone/pebble" at the bottom (which we can also see present as part of the Ancient word for "earth" or "world" in one of the OST images) means "Five Pebbles."
