1: the heat setting may be to high
2: you may be grabbing much hair
3: when it's in your hair, you may be pulling down to fast
4: you may have hairspray in your hair, etc
5: maybe your straitner isn't working

My straightener is from ghd, max styler..Why cant I acheive the curls(big ones) yet?😞 even after following all the instructions..!!

I found out that if I twisted the flat iron even more than she did, then it worked. Just a tip if it doesn't work for you.

Menal G buy some unscented garlic shampoo on amazon. Garlic is the secret ingredient to make hair grow thick and strong. I noticed my hair got so much fluffier and thicker after a month of using it. I swear by it.

I took me 4 months,3 haircuts from so much trying to figure it out that I burned my hair,and endless tears but I finally figured out how to do it 😌 Proud

it is actually a lot better to flat iron/curl your hair with the highest heat. the reason why is you wont have to go over it many times and the style will last longer. for example: my flat iron heats up to 450 degrees, but i used to only heat it up to 300 degrees because i thought that it was more damaging to your hair on a higher heat as well. my hair didnt stay straight or curled through out the day, and then i went to my hair stylist and she said my hair was fried from straightening it on such a low heat. i went home and started straightening it at 450 degrees and my hair has never been better. hope this helped every one

I curl my hair with a straightener 3 days out of the week and I looooove it!!!! I recently started doing this because it really was the only way my hair would look not damaged for lack of better words. But I loved the video, and keep doing what you're doing!!!!
I've tried this like 20 times and it won't curl it just makes a wierd loop at the end of my hair?! Help 😖

Use oil.....I started using oil for weeks and I started to curl my hair and it stays for a long long time.

Just did this- love my hair ! It looks so much better when u curl it one way rather than alternating.
no matter what method i use, my curls are not even curls they are just straight hair.. maybe it's because of my hair or im just doing everything wrong. i can't even curl with a curling wand? i suck.

I watched this video five months ago, the first time I tried this it was so hard! I didn’t give up though, I’d try this technique every time I’d straighten my hair. It was easy to do by the 7th time. Now I’m a pro lol.. Everyone loves my hair, thanks for making this tutorial :)

Same! My hair is about 3x as thick as everyone I know. Some hairdressers sometimes refuse to do it. And when I do get it cut I need at least 2 hairdressers! ;((
Me too!! But if you do it in sections, pin them for a hour or so (or overnight), it'll work
And I recommend using Aquanet for hairspray

Make sure to grab small pieces and go slowly when curling. She runs the straightener through her hair fast bc it her hair is thin. You’d have to do it much slower. It takes me about an hour to curl my hair, if I speed through it my curls always fall out. It might take you even longer to do yours depending how thick your hair is. If I take my time the curls stay even without hairspray.
When I try to curl it it still stays straight not curly like yours -.-

It's just not working for my hair. I only bought a straightener just for this and now I'm super disappointed because it doesn't even form anything. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Sigh..
You might not have a great straightener. Make sure you let it heat up for about 10-15 minuets.
Make sure that you are actually getting your hair properly straight before you try to curl it with the straightener. Hope this helped:)

Carlie c for curling your hair, (I have thick hair too) put a small piece of hair in your straightner, then your straightener in a full circle then gently pull it down hope it helps!

Don't straighten it before you curl it. My hair would never curl using her technique
I usually don't twist that fast, but my hair also curls very easily. Try twisting it around more and also go slower down the strand :)

I've been using a flat iron for curling for years now, I use a different method but if you would decide to use this method I suggest to not pull so quickly and put it the highest hear, her curls are for her hair and with that straightener , experiment with the heat and the time you hold it and eventually you'll get something !

Try twisting the straightener more thats how I done mine. I wore my hair curly and I aid it pulled back. And I used a straightener

Thanks for the excellent tips. Very helpful! You keep saying you can't explain well, but you actually did a marvelous job explaining and showing, and your hair looks great. The only thing I would add in the way of constructive criticism is to make it shorter. It could be edited down to about 1/2 the length, maybe even to a third of the length. But it was great, and you sound very helpful and friendly.

I've always loved the way my hair curls with my straightener! Who knew a STRAIGHTENER could be used for CURLS! Like, right?! Haha. It didn't make sense to me at first but it's awesome!
When I tried this at first i was having weird looking hair, and then i tried this after holding the hair in a horizontal direction while using the straightner and it really did its job :D
