Load of TOSH!!! I’ve been this type of wife (and latterly partner) and BOTH TIMES he has left me at a point when I needed him the most (ie after my Mum died). Not once has a man had MY back despite me having his ie helping him navigate job losses, horrendous debt, ex-wife vitriol and a coercively controlling family. I learned my lesson the hard way and now I take care of MY life and if my partner has problems, I leave it to HIM to sort them out and offer nothing in terms of support or advice. Karma.

Exactly. That's the vast majority of men worldwide, sadly. They see it as "weakness" to be emotionally vulnerable, whereas the TRUTH is it's POWERFUL AND STRONG. Any therapist and psychologist will tell you this. When these men refuse to display emotional attachment or have vulnerable conversations with you (a woman), that is a red flag because it means he's a horrible communicator and shuts down.
Even that isn't enough. Especially the love part. Men HATE when you love them. They have to be the one who is madly in love with you, and you must keep your emotions locked and bottled up. IF you want him to stay with you, that is. Once he gets the idea you love him back, he will definitely switch up on you and start acting foolish and asshole-ish.

What would make me the happiest in regards to a relationship is for the woman im with to yes obviously desire me but to tell me what she needs and wants to be happy herself so i can provide for her and feel like a protector and provider. I will add that in my last relationship my gf did not communicate well especially when it came to expressing her wants and needs but then threw it back in my face like I was supposed to read her mind so that's why I think that is so important to me. I would've done anything for her but unless you know what your partner wants and needs there's only so much you can do. And if they can't communicate their own wants and needs then they will struggle in all of their future romantic relationships. And if they're not self aware enough they probably won't ever realize what they are failing to communicate.

I've learned too that if you're with someone who is very self sufficient and self reliant because they had to be having to raise kids as a single parent even with help from their ex spouse that it can be hard to provide for them because they might think they are weak asking you for help or leaning on you for support when they've handled things just fine themselves for so long

Something should be said about the look on her face after a hard day of work. When she refrains from pulling me down if shes upset with her day. The moment of peace she knows to give for me to unpack my day. Preparing meals with her is joyful. Sitting down to eat with her and hearing all about her day. How flirtatious she is with me and I deny her until the evening. I love her with all of my being. She loves me after all of my flaws and my long hours of work. She works full time and has MS. She is beautiful to me.

I met the exception to the rule. I give my dude all of that and more but he' Still won't open up to me about his feelings when something is bothering him like the passing of his grandma recently. When he told me that she passed, he didn't seem all that sad about it but come to find out hes been holding in his emotions and feelings. You can't blame someone if their partner chooses to not speak up so that I know how to be there for him more.

@@lillyrose178 oh no I know about it all too well. We went to marriage counseling and the therapist told him that he has identity issues stemming from childhood. He didn't take the therapist seriously and refused to admit he needed help. The relationship with his mother when he was a child was not ideal. She chose the wrong men and continue to have children with multiple men. He was molested as a child by his aunt. He held that in for years and when he told his mom when he was an adult she didn't have much to say about it and wasn't very consoling. 3 years I've tried to keep this man on the right path and somehow he doesn't love himself enough to stay on the right path. So I had to take a different path. We have a child to raise together So we are going to be in each other's lives at least for 18 years. The crazy part is his mother was this bad example for him and he has told me that his mother only went to one of his sporting events as a child. He has always been chasing validation from his mother and never got it. When he told his mom that he got a high position at the company he was working for, instead of congratulating him she brought up his sister and how well she's doing. I saw how disappointed he was that he told her good news and she didn't give a shit. . Him being molested and his mother not being the supportive mother he needed He has developed a hatred for women. His first marriage ended and she kept the kids. I would like to hear her side of the story because I know what I've been through for the past 3 years and I can tell you that I have never tried to keeping my kid from him and I have never cheated. That's what he says his ex did and why they divorced. She was doing drugs and running the streets he said. But he himself can't give up smoking weed Even though it makes him all loopy and all he does is rummage through the fridge and goes to sleep. I have always been the third wheel in his relationship with his mother. He goes to her for everything instead of going to me like a normal man in a marriage would. He tells her our problems But only his side of the story So she doesn't like me because she only knows half truths. I could care less if she likes me or not. People need to remember that your parents are not your friends and certain things should be kept separate. Like arguments between you and your spouse.. needless to say,I divorced him back in December. We tried to work it out even after that but his behavior was still the same. Moving to another state I thought would help but he got worse. As much as my heart wants to be there for him my son needs me to be there for him. I don't want my son to end up messed up like he is because I focus too much on a man rather than my son. I understand that he isn't going to change and sometimes people need to hit rock bottom and lose everything in order to learn. But I doubt that that will happen because he lost his first family and He didn't accept any responsibility for that relationship ending and he never fought in court for his children so that he can be in their lives. The family that I had with him is no different. Do yourself a favor and leave because it doesn't get better unless you have a strong man who IS READY TO CHANGE. People are typically set in their ways after the age of 30 And it's unlikely that they will change. Unfortunately those of us who were raised with love seem to attract these type of partners. And because we were raised with love we know better but we stay anyway. We only have so much time on this Earth so don't waste it. I made a bad choice and learned from my mistakes, left and focusing on me and my son

I was at a church party, celebrating the marriage of a couple. Both men and women were allowed to attend. Midway, I went out to my car for a reason and the future bride came out, whom I barely knew and talked to me and gave me a kiss, and said that if I was interested in her, that she would drop him and not get married. I think this goes for both men and women. To be loved, listened to and understood food to any individual spirit. Exactly. That's the vast majority of men worldwide, sadly. They see it as "weakness" to be emotionally vulnerable, whereas the TRUTH is it's POWERFUL AND STRONG. Any therapist and psychologist will tell you this. When these men refuse to display emotional attachment or have vulnerable conversations with you (a woman), that is a red flag because it means he's a horrible communicator and shuts down.

Even that isn't enough. Especially the love part. Men HATE when you love them. They have to be the one who is madly in love with you, and you must keep your emotions locked and bottled up. IF you want him to stay with you, that is. Once he gets the idea you love him back, he will definitely switch up on you and start acting foolish and asshole-ish.

Good ridden, he wasn’t who I was meant to be with…. Obviously. What would make me the happiest in regards to a relationship is for the woman im with to yes obviously desire me but to tell me what she needs and wants to be happy herself so i can provide for her and feel like a protector and provider.
I will add that in my last relationship my gf did not communicate well especially when it came to expressing her wants and needs but then threw it back in my face like I was supposed to read her mind so that's why I think that is so important to me. I would've done anything for her but unless you know what your partner wants and needs there's only so much you can do. And if they can't communicate their own wants and needs then they will struggle in all of their future romantic relationships. And if they're not self aware enough they probably won't ever realize what they are failing to communicate.

I've learned too that if you're with someone who is very self sufficient and self reliant because they had to be having to raise kids as a single parent even with help from their ex spouse that it can be hard to provide for them because they might think they are weak asking you for help or leaning on you for support when they've handled things just fine themselves for so long

This is exactly how I feel right now. I will tell you sadly my marriage is basically over because my wife completely ignores me & doesn't want to work on actually having a relationship with me. After we had our baby & her parents moved into our house she just listen to her audiobook romance novels. Crying thinking about what this woman is saying because it is exactly why 😢 and have to do the things I need to do to stay happy
She never uses any source, and nobody asks her because she speaks gently. She is smart, this is how she gets people listen to her. She just justified cheating in her little world. This way you’ll get stuck in an illusion and will go into a relationship where you’ll keep loving the person that you like in the wrong way. If you’re single there’s a reason WHY it didn’t work out. The moment of peace she knows to give for me to unpack my day. Preparing meals with her is joyful. Sitting down to eat with her and hearing all about her day. How flirtatious she is with me and I deny her until the evening. I love her with all of my being. She loves me after all of my flaws and my long hours of work. She works full time and has MS. She is beautiful to me.

I agree with her in so far as she’s talking about a man who is somewhat healthy emotionally. No huge traumas, abuse, etc. This does not apply to addicts or unhealthy narcissistic men. A woman can conscientiously do all those things to invest in her man but all the while he does not see her, does not recognize her love. He’s constantly looking somewhere else because his addiction dominates him. He’s fighting a giant within no woman can equal much less defeat. It is of utmost importance for young women to really get to know a man before she marries him. Get to know his family, his friends and what others who love him say of him. If a man is open to such scrutiny he is pretty healthy emotionally, so the investment of the woman he loves will get to his heart & he’ll get her the moon if she wanted it!! ❤

I met the exception to the rule. I give my dude all of that and more but he' Still won't open up to me about his feelings when something is bothering him like the passing of his grandma recently. When he told me that she passed, he didn't seem all that sad about it but come to find out hes been holding in his emotions and feelings. You can't blame someone if their partner chooses to not speak up so that I know how to be there for him more.
He wants to feel desired. He wants you to want him. Men are not like women in that most men don’t vent or share their feelings. It’s not a reflection on you ladies, if you want him to be like your girlfriends you would come to hate him.

@toshrizzle I am going through the exact same thing and I have shown over and over again my desire for him. I try to always be his lil cheerleader in supporting him letting him know I'm here. I continously love on him but apparently it is me who wants "more". No Im simply asking for the basics. I am the one who doesn't feel desired and have been putting in all this effort to get nothing in return. I highly recommend you look into avoidant attachment because I've come to realize and even my bf now too that it is him to a T! It's the emotional intimacy that either terrifies them or turns them off. They internalize everything and depend only on themselves. I'm telling ya when I read into it a lighbulb went off and when I shown it to my bf he admitted there is a lot of truth in it as to why the way he is. Now I just gotta decide is it enough for me when I'm the one who's starved on emotional intimacy and desire. Chances are no. I can't force him to want it like I do.
@@lillyrose178 oh no I know about it all too well. We went to marriage counseling and the therapist told him that he has identity issues stemming from childhood. He didn't take the therapist seriously and refused to admit he needed help. The relationship with his mother when he was a child was not ideal. She chose the wrong men and continue to have children with multiple men. He was molested as a child by his aunt. He held that in for years and when he told his mom when he was an adult she didn't have much to say about it and wasn't very consoling. 3 years I've tried to keep this man on the right path and somehow he doesn't love himself enough to stay on the right path. So I had to take a different path. We have a child to raise together So we are going to be in each other's lives at least for 18 years. The crazy part is his mother was this bad example for him and he has told me that his mother only went to one of his sporting events as a child. He has always been chasing validation from his mother and never got it. When he told his mom that he got a high position at the company he was working for, instead of congratulating him she brought up his sister and how well she's doing. I saw how disappointed he was that he told her good news and she didn't give a shit. . Him being molested and his mother not being the supportive mother he needed He has developed a hatred for women. His first marriage ended and she kept the kids. I would like to hear her side of the story because I know what I've been through for the past 3 years and I can tell you that I have never tried to keeping my kid from him and I have never cheated. That's what he says his ex did and why they divorced. She was doing drugs and running the streets he said. But he himself can't give up smoking weed Even though it makes him all loopy and all he does is rummage through the fridge and goes to sleep. I have always been the third wheel in his relationship with his mother. He goes to her for everything instead of going to me like a normal man in a marriage would. He tells her our problems But only his side of the story So she doesn't like me because she only knows half truths. I could care less if she likes me or not. People need to remember that your parents are not your friends and certain things should be kept separate. Like arguments between you and your spouse.. needless to say,I divorced him back in December. We tried to work it out even after that but his behavior was still the same. Moving to another state I thought would help but he got worse. As much as my heart wants to be there for him my son needs me to be there for him. I don't want my son to end up messed up like he is because I focus too much on a man rather than my son. I understand that he isn't going to change and sometimes people need to hit rock bottom and lose everything in order to learn. But I doubt that that will happen because he lost his first family and He didn't accept any responsibility for that relationship ending and he never fought in court for his children so that he can be in their lives. The family that I had with him is no different. Do yourself a favor and leave because it doesn't get better unless you have a strong man who IS READY TO CHANGE. People are typically set in their ways after the age of 30 And it's unlikely that they will change. Unfortunately those of us who were raised with love seem to attract these type of partners. And because we were raised with love we know better but we stay anyway. We only have so much time on this Earth so don't waste it. I made a bad choice and learned from my mistakes, left and focusing on me and my son

I was at a church party, celebrating the marriage of a couple. Both men and women were allowed to attend. Midway, I went out to my car for a reason and the future bride came out, whom I barely knew and talked to me and gave me a kiss, and said that if I was interested in her, that she would drop him and not get married. I would guess the couples in their late 20s or early 30s. Why would a woman do this? I never said a word to the future groom. 😢Was it best that I kept quiet? Why would a woman want to marry a man (who was not rich nor above average in looks) whom she would give up so easily? So “Christian” really doesn’t mean anything does it?

I went out with a Narcissist for 13 years. In the beginning I did all those things she says. He just wanted a pretty woman on his arm. He humiliated me. Argued with me in public and he just wanted someone like his Mother. I ain't no Mother to no man!! After going through Cancer and the way he'd treat me. I ran for the hills. Thankfully I didn't make the mistake of moving in with him or getting married to the asshole. Saw him walking down the street the other day. Thought to myself I had a great escape. There are good men out there. But they are usually taken..

I will forever remember the evening when I got home and my (then) (my ex) woman greeted me with a warm hug and a warm meal she knew I liked. And then when it was not enough left overs for my lunch the following day, she cooked another meal just for that.
I was many times an asshole, not worthy of her love and care. (What I mean is taking her and her love for granted.) But love has many times to be unconditional. It is not always easy to be a hero. Because that is many other times what it seemes to take.
All women loves a hero, but no man is always a hero. What the relation then need is this unconditional love, invested by faith in the future.
