Father and son working hard and laughing here and there,kids and wife around,it is so refreshing! Congratulation for your bright mood and for the good work.I envy you so much....Proud of you;
I remember those early videos when your dad was so reticent about being on camera ... and now it's like he's a natural!
Oh hell yeah he putting old school mixed with a little of new school together
Your daddy is a doll & doesn’t look old enough to have a son you’re age ❤
Can’t wait to see it finished
I seriously love this GMC resto... but I'm also admiring that Rabbit Pickup. Has to be the best-looking "Baja Bunny" I've ever seen. 🏆
The best thing about this renovation is working with your Dad!! What memories you'll have one day. Best regards ✌️
You guys are wonderful, meticulous restorers. Enjoy your channel.
My great uncle bought one of those brand new in 1978. I remember cruising down the highway in it when I was 10 years old. It just didn’t get much better than that back then 👍🇺🇸
It is soo cool you get to work with your dad on stuff like this.
Reusing all the parts from the modern salvage trailer is a great idea.
Awesome idea using a modern trailer to repair an old RV. I like the looks of the GMC.
GREAT WORK AND ITS GOING TO BE A GREAT FAMILY RIDE TO STATES TO STATES,.. VERY RELAXING WATCHING DAD AND SON DOING THERE CRAFTS ON GETTING THIS RIDE IN SHAPE ,,.. THANKS G D BLESS..
It was such a good buy to get that camper. I can't believe how the roof air and vents went in without modifying the roof, that's incredible. Might be a good idea to throw a tarp over the camper though, so the interior doesn't get rotted out while you're doing other work.
Just love Dads giggle, you really work well together.
Favorite build on RUclips 🙌🙌🍿🍿🎬
Spectacular work. So wonderful to see you tackling problems and restoring this beauty.
You know its gonna be good when Michael uploads a new video
Really hope you enjoy!!! 😊
Not knowing a lot about solar panels on how resistant they are to hail, so with the rails it would be easy to rig a tarp or even some wooden panels that you could slide over the solar panels during severe weather
Love this money saving retrofit. Always hold off watching other vids when Budget Buildz has a new one.
Great work,I really appreciate your thorough sealing
Thanks for sharing your work ethic, looking forward to every single new video
Well done from here in South Africa 🇿🇦
@BudgetBuildz I'm really no expert, but concerning the black dish you keep calling a wifi ranger: you sure it isn't the satellite antenna for the TV? The metal plug that was hidden behind the speaker just looks like satellite cabling.
Looks fantastic, an idea for the headliner is to paint the existing one black and attach light coloured wooden slats over the top.
was a good way to update with that wrecked camper saved thousands
Real smart-looking GMC Motorhome, it's getting there.
She’s a beaut, Clark! I’m jealous
The green grass on top could be your own golf drive range :)
Got to admitt, dumping that old AC unit look extremely satisfying , and messy. 😊
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎🍺🍺👍🇺🇸. Nice job !
Hey! 🍻 Thank you 😊
Those little connectors are called Waygos, those specifically are knuckles...i use them on my robotics team all the time! Absolute life savers, they are so much faster and easier to work on
In hindsight your instincts are correct, not a good look with AC ‘for free’ smash up. Your Dad was right. Loving your unique family friendly channel!❤
Love this project!
So glad you’re enjoying!!! ☺️
Nice I was missing the old Motorhome!
Endura bond tape works extremely well for many applications. Great going.
love this build can't wait to see it finished
I really wish that GMC would consider bringing back a model based on these motorhomes.
It would be 200k
@@Mike_and_Life Probably and if it was an updated version of these oldies, with at least 1600 Watts of solar panels, it would be worth it.
I say worth it as compared to some of the RVs today that cost that and more and in my eyes, aren't as spacious and open feeling as these.
The EKKO is a close match as far as windows go (I hate all closed in and dark) and it can run upwards of that price with all the trimmings.
@BlondieSL I don't disagree with anything you said. The pricing would make it unobtainable for most people in this country. Sad fact, but only the rich get to enjoy life anymore.
@@Mike_and_LifeWell, yes and no, I guess.
It's true that only the rich can afford this high-end "toys."
But honestly, that doesn't guarantee "enjoying life."
I know a lot of very rich people who are NOT happy and in fact, will buy "things' to try to make them happy. However, happiness is a state of mind. Many don't live in that "state", sadly.
A person who is not rich can most certainly enjoy life, just in their own way, not requiring expensive toys to do so.
For some people, a tent, ice chest and a bonfire is enough to bring happiness.
But yeah, I get what you are saying.
What bugs me, Mike, is the crazy price increases just over 20 ish years.
About 22 or so years ago, we bought a brand new, Jayco 34', 5th wheel trailer.
It was gorgeous and spacious.
At that time, it cost us around $34,000.
But now, the equivalent trailer to that one, is close to $90,000.
Sure, prices increase, but by over 100% is nuts!
That's just how I'm seeing things, because I feel that we really are being ripped off by most companies these days.
We KNOW that we are being price gouged.
@@Mike_and_Lifethat's because the American middle class has been systematically destroyed since the 70s, but especially over the past 10-15 years. Everyone is part of the precariat now. (Sosring house values, medical costs and the erosion of 'well-paying jobs for life' have a lot to do with this.)
The American Dream is over.
That was some really clever work moving the old stuff off and the new parts in especially as the roof cleaned up so well. I hope the wiring loom fits in.
But don't forget to get a tarpaulin over the roof of the wrecked camper. Don't want that nice interior getting damaged.
Just binged the RV refurbish. Subd for the series.
Next will be surfing past videos.
It’s so great seeing someone’s old dream vehicle brought back to life for new adventures.
🙋🏼
34:30 Old mate with the hair tidy up. Such a pro.
Yup, that thing is awesome. Taking all that stuff from that other camper was a super good call.
Love you lads lad and dad enjoying life together no hassle great entertainment thanks uk
This is officially the greatest ASMR video in all of RUclips.
Y'all are my favorite car channel on RUclips. I love that you restore verse swap. I am loving this GMC motorhome. It was always my favorite RV styling. Plus you're here in good ole SC
Loved when you drop the A/C off the roof.
MODERN VINTAGE RESTORATION GREAT STUFF
Yes I've delt with that boat shyt B4 OMG ugh 😆😂 can not wait to see that old dog completely redone
Haha 😅 We can’t wait to get it done!
Run some 4" seam sealer tape over the top of the roof seams that you sealed. It will give double protection and add a beautiful finish to the seam- especially where it wraps down along the curve of the dome. This is a fun project to follow!
It's looking great! I can't wait for electricity, lights, paint and polish; not to mention the interior!
You two make such a cute and brave couple, can’t wait to see your adventures together
Couldn’t have been a more perfect swap over with the caravan parts 👍🏼
Love the transformation that has already been done.
Going to be a great little camper when it’s finished
I remember these brand new and they were revolutionary in that they were aerodynamic, before these they were square somewhat boring looking. Love these and it’s great that you’re giving it a second life. Be blessed.
love the way you guys navigate motorhome obstickles by experimenting your way around them.
Love this project, Michael - this ride is going to be a barrel of fun when it's done.
Glad you’re enjoying! We can’t wait 😁😁
That style of motorhome is timeless. Was way ahead of it's time. Subscribed to follow along on the rest of the build.
Cannot wait for the electric part
We can’t either! Definitely a bit nervous but we’ll make it 😁
This was great dinner entertainment. Those modern units fit your RV like they were factory new. You say you're not RV restorers, but I think you're doing a great job. My only "complaint" is you didn't say "YEET!" when you tossed the old a/c unit off😁
'Genuine GM parts!' - Red Foreman
😃👍
How smart was that to get that almost new wrecked camper. Brilliant !!
Will be a nice Motor home with all the new updates. 1 step Closer. 😊😊
Yes. I love these updates on this RV. I literally just checked and there was no video. As I moved on I got notified that you posted a new video.
Really glad you’re enjoying!! Hope this one was good as well 😊
I was sceptical at first about this build but with the modern staff its %100 gonna be awesome. 😂
Put a mini split on rear bumper and then u will have way more efficiency and quieter with 2 air handlers !
Love the RV roof setup !!!
You’re so lucky to have your dad to work with you on these projects. The GMC rv is why I subscribed to your channel. I wanted to see it finished. I enjoy watching your father and you working together. He needs to talk more about what he doing from time to time. Thanks.
Cool rebuild! You're Dad is awesome!
Great series . Can’t wait to see it fished. A 73 GMC with wifi. At least it’s in the 21st century.
I do LOVE THE WORK YOU ARE PUTTING IN2 THIS VEHICLE. IT'S STARTING 2 LOOK LIKE A 2024 MOTORHOME!!!!
I fell off the roof twice, just watching you. 😂 great job. I want to see more of the RV.
Thanks
Great video. Reusing parts from a damaged RV is so smart. Hope the interior cabinets will work!! Don't forget that flat screen!
great to see a classic living again, with years of service coming for your family.great vids keep up gud work.
Wago electrical connectors = best things ever!
Mondays not so bad with a BB show to look for to coming home to watch after work. Thanks.
Those Mr. Clean sponges are the best!
That is looking so awesome guys, maybe some orange on the bodywork , it's a good 70's color!
*WHEN* you finish installing everything on the roof, lay down a coat of "white knight flex coat rv roof" Its a rubberized coating, designed for RV's that will 100% seal the roof from water, and protect the roof from UV damage. I lived in a 21 ft Ford Sterling for 13 years, and a 26ft Vanguard Travel trailer for the last 3 years.
DANGER ALERT! Every time I watch something like this I think: "I can do it!" You make it look so easy when in fact what you did in the video would probably take me a year to complete. So I have to keep telling myself: Don't try this! Watch this guy instead and live vicariously. Well done, sir.
Please post part 6 as soon as possible, I can't wait
you will be the envy of other rv'ers when that baby is restored..
It was actually quite satisfying watching you both clean the roof with magic erasers. I've watching every video of the camper from the beginning and I can't wait to see it when it's all done. I love Budget Buildz! ❤️
As soon as BB Uploads, everything else goes on hold. Love the content and authenticity and hard work. Thank you.
Those are Lever-Nut wire connectors. Btw.
A European invention.
Very cool! Thanks for letting us know!
Looks good..the new components don't take away from the old school cool of the machine
Great job guys , can’t wait to see it finished. 🇬🇧
The new wirenut connection is the only time I knew something Michael didn't-mark this day!
What a transformation, from when you pulled it out till now. You can be proud of your work. Nice job.
We loved these in the movie, Stripes. I have worked on these nightmares in Arizona, they don't age well here!
Good lesson on reuse and repair. Spend a bit more time considering your safety especially at height and eye protection. Thanks for sharing. Joe
@budgetbuildz Might want to add the 12v vacuum pump for the brake booster incase the engine dies you will still have braking power. its a common safety upgrade on these
Definitely one of a kind in the whole of USA.weldone to you and your dad👏👏👏👏👏🍺🍺🍺🇬🇧🇬🇧
Really digging this series. Keep them coming.
Great job so far guys! I am enjoying following your journey of rebuilding the classic RV.
Very satisfying to see all of the components from the wrecked camper fit so nicely on the GMC. Making that salvage purchase look like a genius move.
Michael ,Chris. You gotta let the kids name the camper .also upstairs a thought the renault could be a great tow along behind for the trips to the shops and beach when your camping great to see its progressing at a great rate keep up the great work
Good job
Nice all those new things mounted on the old one👍
Mr Son &Mr Dad love the idea of upgrades & the ladder & racks, Being picky now personally I would of liked to see the turrets paint rejuvenated, thankyou, really appreciate the channel, regards Rob.
Love it. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride
Great job guys I can't believe how everything went in the same holes in the roof
This build is really fun to watch GREAT job on that roof what a transformation!
Looking forward to the interior work!
Definitely Taking Shape it's going to look amazing such a great job guy's 👏👏👏👏
Reinforce the hitch, hook-up that pontoon and you got a real goin-to-the-lake rig😊
Resto Mod :) I'm loving this one, can't wait to see what you do with the headliner and interior. It's going to be a pimping family camper when you're done!
