If you have missed Jan Johansson-Jazz på svenska(jazz in swedish),immediately go to Spotify and listen. He was Jens Johansson’s father.A very popular and loved album in Sweden. You can be sure Yngwie loves it.
I am well aware of Jan Johansson's magnificent work, and I actually had the chance and the honor to attend two of Jens' and Anders' gigs in Stockholm (back in 2016 and 2019) and to hang out with them both times... :) I have also various playlists dedicated to the Johanssons on my channel: - ruclips.net/video/t2D5HlKLh34/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/j-terN_y11s/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/xXVD84ltKh8/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/-xEl5AXW6KE/видео.html
Fun thing about swedish folkmusic is the switch between major and minor in the tune. The only poptune using that trick is "All what she wants" by Ace of Bace where the the verses are in minor then major alternating
The "I´m still Standing" verse is in major, ending in minor and the refrain in minor. I agree that this an (unusual) play of switching in the verse, serving as an transition to the refrain. But the case I´m talking about is switching between major and minor inside the verse like the first part is minor, second part with the same tune, giving the tune another feeling totally. All what she wants switches between the whole verses so it´s kind of brutal (or genius since they made a ton of money on that song)
@@AndersTornqvistsvedbergh I was going to reply a few suggestions, but as you're talking about changing inside of a verse, I only have one song in mind. Dido's Thank You starts major and then for some reason switches to major for the chorus and STAYS major for the rest of the song. (Different, yes but unusual)
Freawulf I tried that, but there are all these "filler notes" between the basic melody that I find hard to figure out. Maybe just keep on listening at half speed or something ;)
Yngwie is a music genius. If he could step out of his standard hardrock classical stuff, and would play without the borders of styles it would give such astounishing music......
Cool to see Yngwie beaming with happiness over those ancient songs.

He prolly could run rings around Uggo. Musical genious. Multi instrumentalist.
