hi I am so glad to hear updates about SCAD. I am one of having this kind since 2020 of March. after the attack , was given medicines to take in for healing the coronary artery tear.and had repeat echocardiogram 2× since. I have baby aspirin everyday plus bisoprolol , ramipril , and amlophidine .last talk to cardiologist was last year thru phone.
how long will I continue meds? how do I know if the tear healed ? thank you God bless

I'm not a doctor. I have talked to many people about their treatments after SCAD heart attacks. Some of them stop taking medications. Some of them do not. There is unfortunately no easy answer.
But the MOST important thing for you to do is to find a healthcare provider who is familiar with SCAD. The ones who misdiagnosed my late wife as gastritis and possible Takotsubo ("broken heart") syndrome were not familiar with SCAD. This is the best resource I know of, Mayo Clinic's Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) Research Program. See more about them at www.mayo.edu/research/centers-programs/spontaneous-coronary-artery-dissection-scad/about.
Good luck and do not allow anyone to tell you that they cannot tell you for sure what is causing your problems.

I should add that many of the 38 women who tell about their SCAD heart attacks and treatment in this video playlist discuss the medications they took and are still on.
      ruclips.net/video/_lJ0_zZn4yU/видео.html
If you view a video on RUclips page there is an ellipsis link ("...") just below the bottom right of the video pane. Click this and chooose "Show transcript" to see the text. You can use Ctrl-F on a desktop to search through the transcript and go right to a section. For example search for "aspirin" and you will see any occurrences of the word, and can click the line to play that part of the video.

I am a male and just had SCAD at 48. I have great blood pressure, low cholesterol, heart rate was in the 30’s to 40’s, refused the Covid vaccine, ran 6 days a week, and lifted weights 5 days a week. I am 5’9” and weigh about 135. I was the only male patient that my hospital had seen this happen to.

My mother had 2 heart attacks 7 years ago and recently suffered a scad heart attack and tore 4 arteries. She is seeing a specialist but not until October, recent scan results show that her blood pressure is low and her heart isn’t pumping properly. We’re all extremely worried :(

I hope she is talking with healthcare professionals who are familiar with SCAD. Good luck.

Wonder if vaccines are playing a part in the recent spike in cases
