HPJ, as someone who daily drives a diesel, and is also a certified Chrysler diesel tech, i will say the cummins perform adequately off-road, but the 1200lbs hanging over the front axle from the cummins is a detractor to offroad performance, sure they have the power, but the hemi engine varients are pretty much half the weight. In some situations this wont matter, but you never know when 100lbs will be the difference between sinking down to the axle, or floating through the terrain, let alone 500+ lbs. For any hardcore off-roader weight is key, i'm not saying you can't take a diesel offroad, but you need additional mods to help you from sinking in places that your next door neighbours 15 year old lifted tacoma just drove through.

He didnt show the work lights on the mirror. They shoot an led spot light to the back where your mirrors are pointed. So if you push the mirror away from you, it will shine almost straight to the side. The only thing that's the same as 18 is the 4 doors cabin part. Everything else is new. All 4 fenders, hood, grill, frame, etc. The complete refresh is like 2021 I think. Maybe Cummins will stop screwing around and just redo the m11. Game over, every few years when someone gets within 75 torque or so just turn it up a little. All joking aside this torque battle is going to get ridiculous sooner or later. The trailer world better get moving to keep up.

Can't tow 35,000 lbs where I live without a CDL - so that statistic is meaningless to me, and probably a whole lot of other people. But, it makes a terrific sound bite.
That megacab it's so huge now that you could just throw a inflatable mattress and that's it. Really good looking truck inside and out. And with that hideous new Silverado shouldn't be hard to compete.
I wish they'd go to a flat floor in the back... the hump necessitates that I build a platform so that my 100 lb dog has room to move around, and the increased height of the platform means I have to use a ramp to get my dog in. Glad they're doing the 8 speed tranny tho... hope it's better than the 6 speed & has better programming than what I've got in my '16 crew cab 6.4L 4x4. I find the continual carping about mileage somewhat amusing... I get 10-12 mpg around town & about 18-19 mpg on the highway... I think that's pretty good for a truck nearing 3-1/2 tons... in the mountains north of L.A. The cylinder deactivation is annoyingly droney tho (and the engine sounds terrible)... I always end up shutting it off, except on long highways slogs.
because its a real diesel built for heavier trucks thats what makes it so good. they do make heavy duty suspension parts people just have to learn were to look for them. Cummins is a real diesel not a fake diesel like the power joke engine or duramax junk
Things that are keeping me from being completely in love with the RAM (and some other brands): FIAT/Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/RAM has a known hardware/software issue with their UCONNECT 2 radios. They don't like storage devices like iPods and they don't like to keep the settings on the radio - and that's not what people expect of a $7000 stereo option. I have this in my Jeep and they are not sympathetic nor appear to be working for a solution. The other glaring thing that keeps me less than excited is the choice of interior colors. I've been shopping trucks for a while and I cannot buy another $70k truck and absolutely hate the interior. I don't want black and black is all you can get. They have a brown version but it's only available on very limited packages and it's a little too rodeo goat roper for me. What's wrong with a gray leather? Light tan? Why is it just black? My opinion is that RAM's styling makes it the best-looking truck on the market but I can't work with black interior - not at these prices. That center console is probably too big. As a guy that's 6'3", I need legroom -front to back and on the sides. These consoles are getting so big that they are starting to encroach in the width of the driver's cockpit. Whoa fellas! Back off the console sizes. I won't be happy buying a heavy duty truck and feel cramped like I bought a B2000. There's lots to like with these offerings, but they are hard to love.
So, couple months ago, i saw some guy filming a truck passing by downtown El Paso, TX, so i was like, "what the eff is he filming"? kinda saw a different grilled Ram pass by is what he was filming, thought maybe its a 2017 Ram with a different grill on it......... guess NOT, he was filming the new 2019 Ram, a lot of the backdrop scenery in this video was filmed in El Paso, TX........ and trust me, there are lots of Ram Cummins here in El Paso, everyday i see more and more cummins on the road, i know that Ford rules in TX, but slowly but surely Ram will take over Texas, its just a better built, stronger more reliable truck Period!!!!!!! regardless of tow capacities, payloads and tongue weight etc.

The structure of the ford super duty cab stayed the same for more than a decade so I understand. I also understand not doing the same thing as the competition where all the trucks have the same exact cab as the half ton.
My 2018 SRW 3500 4x4 68RFE Laramie 6.7L gets hand calc'd 13.8 MPG city & 15.4 highway (think 70 MPH). My 2004.5 2500 4x4 Laramie 5.9L got 15 city 18 highway hand calc'd. The digital lie-o-meter is so far off in all these trucks I laugh. Fix the digital MPG readout. I still love my truck though so...... yeah, I don't really care. Love 'em.
GMC trucks are really nice but v8 style diesels don't get the fuel mileage or have the durability that an inline does.All semi trucks are inline and there's a reason for that.
RAM Strategy: Just wait and see what FORD does with Super Duty and Make our new truck have similar look head lights/tail lights and grill and add 50ft/lb torque. Simple and done.. No R/D needed. Let Ford do the work....
