Pathology of Chronic Inflammation

  • Chronic inflammation is characterized by simultaneous mononuclear infiltrate, tissue destruction and attempts at healing. This video gives an overview of the general pathologic causes and morphologic features of this type of inflammation.
    It also covers the cells most commonly seen in this type of reaction, differences in the two types of macrophage activation and finally granulomatous reactions.

    Can you explain the diagnosis we got for my daughter. From cafe cytology. It’s says CSF:
    Proteinaceous fluid and rare degenerating mononuclear cells present
    We have no idea what that means

      I’m sorry you’ll have to ask your daughters physician about those results and what they mean for her. That’s beyond the scope of my expertise
