Junkyard Garden gets full Cleanup (Owner was Amazed)!

- If you have been watching my channel lately, you might recognise this property. The last 2 episodes before this were done on the drive around the other side. Basically, the whole place is a shambles, but unfortunately, I won't be able to do a full restoration on this property. I promised myself, for my own sanity, that I wasn't going to tackle blackberries on a large scale. But I really wanted to help out, so I did what I could out the front. I cleared some rubbish, did some pruning, a bit of mowing and just a general tidy up. It's not an overly long episode, but I did what I could to make the homeowners place a bit more livable. All up, I spent around 7 hours on this job, with 3 trips to the landfill included.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

You really have to be paid a big compliment about how willing you are to help again and again and how you don't shy away from physically difficult work just to help other people. I sometimes think to myself, hopefully you also have people around you who will help you and have your back.

I find myself at times getting upset with people letting their yard's/ gardens become a dumping ground of trash, junk, storage , extremely overgrown but again we never know fully what people are going through or have been through and alot of people don't like yardwork. I love it.
Also without the apocalypse yards we wouldn't get to witness the amazing videos and transformations so thank you George for your service and hard work, time, care, giving sprit ❤🎉😊.

Great job. I believe in the rule that if you are not a gardener or can’t physically take care of a garden then keep it simple and remove all the “bits and pieces” so it is easy and cheap to mow and trim.

I occasionally think of you as I'm out in my own weeds (and yes, I'm making great progress, as is my 92 y/o Mother, who also has an impressive amount of weeds after so much rain here in Central Coast California this winter). It makes me happy to know that we both are being diligent on a daily basis after so much ennui that let it get so bad at both our homes.

He’s know as Midlife Stockman; he has a full time job, is married with 4 children and a rural ppty to run. This definitely fits the ‘get rid of shit’ description. More rubbish removal than actual gardening going on, but how George does it makes it infinitely watchable, and the end result is amazing as always!
@@Michele_Williams Every Week, I try to bring a little levity to the video. There is a theme, then the script just follows the events as they play out. And he did not even attack the other side of the front yard. But like he said, his mental health is most important, right ?? Those Bramble and Get Rid of Shit jobs are tasking for sure.
