Its famous for being one of the hardest monsters in the franchise do to its insane aggression, speed, damage and poison attacks. Its so hard you straight up get infinite lives when fighting it.
To be honest I NEED Marco to react to the Frontier Crimson Fatalis Theme Medley, it's really the only Fatalis theme to give you the feeling of "yeah this things going to end the world and is just out for nothing but endless destruction." apposed to the usual kind of awe and godly presence. Also the transition into phase 2 of the song just being a choir singing about the death of all hunters is also amazing.

So, Duremudira is my personal wall in Frontier. He’s probably the hardest to fully solo- at least in my experience. More than anything, he requires you to develop a sense of his rhythm, to understand his movements and thought patterns. *You play by Duremudira’s rules, or you fail.* His fight doesn’t give you time to use items, heal, do anything but go toe to toe with this absolute powerhouse of an elder dragon. It demands your best. It’s hard as nails. The single most challenging hunt I’ve ever attempted- and, simultaneously, the most *fair.*

The very ice it produces causes frostbite to humans just with a single touch. When greatly angered, Duremudira will begin to produce a deadly poison that not only drains an enemy's strength at a rapid rate, but also severely lowers the defense of its enemies. This makes killing or destroying the threat much easier for the Duremudira. In the higher districts of the Sky Corridor, hunters have reported stronger Duremudira. These individuals are said to fall over, as if they have died, before filling a room with poisonous gas and reawakening. Due to the poison, the color of their body has changed dramatically, tainting its once blue color. Iirc, the devs said that it wasn't the case. It's an elder dragon that decided to make the tenrou it's nest for some reasons and killed pretty much all the inhabitants. He's kinda similar to Fatalis on that point

"Fighting a god": Yeah, can't argue there. Lore-wise, Duremudira's origins are unknown, leading many to make various theories as to what is or where it came from. Some say it acts as a guard dog for the Sky Corridor, as many of the other monsters in the tower seemingly do. others believe it came from a place beyond mortal reach (space or somewhere else) as the dragon appears to have no shared traits with any other monster. Gameplay wise, Duremudira was the hardest monster in frontier at the time of it's release. A lot of players had to retry for several weeks before they could get their first kill on the dang thing. It is at this point that the Dragon reveals it's second weapon, poison. This poison is extremely deadly, and WILL melt away your health within seconds if you aren't careful. Thankfully, there is a vendor outside the arena who can supply you with items, including Deadly Poison cures. However, you buy these items with points, and you are given only 5,000 points when you enter the Sky Corridor (I don't know if you can get more points) So not only are you facing an VERY dangerous monster, you are also trapped in a icy-cold room with said monster. You have to worry about dying from poison, and you have limited resources. Once you run out of Mega Potions, Max Potions, Deadly Poison cures and whatever else, that's it. You can't go back and get more, the door is sealed off. Just imagine how terrifying that whole scenario is. There's nowhere to run, you're running of supplies, and the chance of just dying from poison is high.

Just stumbled on this vid looking at themes, you are definitely my favourite reactor! I loved how quick you were to the reaction, very cut to the chase, and a lot of show dont tell! I love it! I couldnt believe it! Keep it up, lots of love❤
Duremudira is an extremly dangerous Elder Dragon. You are technically correct about fighting it in the sky because you fight it in a massive tower called the "Sky Corridor" and you fight him many floors up the tower. It is the only place you can find this monster. It's lead some people to believe that it acts as a sort of guard dog for the long abandoned tower or it even being artificial though none of this is confirmed. The fight itself is incredibly difficult, he is extremley fast and aggressive. With a flurry of ice and poisonous attacks he was at one point considered one of if not the hardest monsters in the game. The second phase begins after it drops to the floor seemingly dead before your screen literally freezes over and shatters. Dure then drops from the ceiling more ferocious than before. The music perfectly demonstrates the sheer terror and panic this fight induces as well as Dure's terryfying nature. Frontier's music is truly masterclass.
The way you described Duremudira as a "god" is wonderful. Because that is genuinely what it feels like. I haven't listened to every monster theme from the OST's but from the ones I have listened to, I haven't felt this way about any other. For Fatalis, it felt like "This dragon WILL kill you. It is Evil Incarnate." but to persevere through simply to keep the world safe. But Duremudira is incomparable to that in my mind. All I can feel is that this monster is so ridiculously strong that the only thing this music communicates to me is "You shouldn't be fighting this. Why are you fighting this? You shouldn't be here. You are not ALLOWED to be here." It doesn't feel like this gigantic, noble monster is gracing you with its presence. It feels like this absolute abnormality of nature holds all power and authority, and you've treaded into its domain with no second thought, meanwhile it could crush you with zero effort whatsoever. It feels like you need to leave. You don't deserve to be fighting Duremudira. You aren't worthy to, and you never will be.
Love you reviewing some Frontier music marco! This track is burnt into my memory and Monster Hunter Frontier remains one of my favorite MMOS alongside PSO2/Destiny 2. Honestly all of the G rank (Master rank for those who started with World/Rise) soundtrack was top notch and worth checking out over time. I have so many heartfelt memories and friends I still play with to this day from this game and it really was a one of a kind experience. I would personally suggest Beyond The Mirage, the 6th track on the Monster Hunter Frontier G Official Soundtrack Disc 1, and the 5th track of disc 2, The Silhouettes Transformation, if you are looking for further music to review!
I both envy you and respect you. I really wished I could have played Frontier back in the day, but sadly couldn't. It does make me happy though, knowing that there are people lucky enough to have played it, and that they can share their experiences with those of us who didn't get the chance. This series and it's fans have consistently amazed me. Once a hunter, always a hunter.
Duremudira, the Guardian of Tenrou, is kind of a mystery. His design is one of the most unusual in monster hunter, even among the rest Frontier's roster: beaklike jaws; a claw-like tail; toned and muscular, yet not heavy or bulky; orange, featureless eyes; and horns that resemble wings. If I remember correctly, have heard that his visual designer intended him to be, paraphrased, his idea of the embodiment of evil. There is next to no information on his ecology. It was speculated by fans that he is a sort of biological weapon, left over from an ancient civilization, but the developers explicitly disproved this. For all we know, he could have come from another planet, as seems to be implied with Safi'jiiva. What is known is that he is an invasive species. You battle Duremudira in a structure called the Sky Corridor; an enormous pillar reaching into the sky, filled with both booby traps and monsters. It used to belong to an ancient civilization, until Duremudira showed up, seemingly out of nowhere, and massacred all it came across inside, claiming the Sky Corridor for itself and presiding over its ruin. In battle, his is considered one of the most difficult challenges in monster hunter. He is very fast and very aggressive, icy attacks and frantic charges keeping hunters constantly on their toes. Combine that with his ridiculously potent poison, and you get a creature that requires utmost preparation and grace under pressure (or that human superpower known as adrenaline, lol). The first phase is a battle of skill against a creature of incredible malice and mystery. You're fighting a violent creature that slows down for nothing. It runs circles around you, its indigo scales becoming adorned in icy armour. The stone walls surrounding you freezing and thawing, then becoming covered in toxic purple. While I prefer the sound of phase one, I admit that phase two fits is context like a well crafted key in a lock. Phase two can be summed up with one word; PANIC. And not just for the hunter. There is a consensus that Duremudira actually poisons itself in its final efforts, its scales now covered in a tinge of sickly yellow. You're now fighting a cornered beast. Whatever little temperance and grace it had before, now replaced by poison driven mania. You need to finish this and fast. Yeah Frontier monsters can get pretty crazy, that's part of their charm.
It's a pretty unique monster even for Monster Hunter. Not only is the style of battle being a time endurance match unique but it is only fought inside the Sky Corridor, a tower that stretches into the upper atmosphere that is made out of monster materials by one of the old civilizations which serves as a sort of "deep dungeon" for this version of Monster Hunter. Most of the ancient civilizations were not on the best of terms with dragons and nature, referenced by the current guild's strict regulations on hunting due to the lessons of the past, and the long-lived wyverian's dire warnings about what happened to the last civilizations. So finding an impossibly large tower built by someone out of monster materials is ominous enough as it is, but this dragon seems to be protecting it, or at the very least nesting there, but it seems to be very intentionally guarding the ancient equipment troves that reside there. More ominous still, it seems almost chimerical and artificial in appearance. A very prominent line runs down its hide from head to tail, its eyes covered in tinted lenses, its tail itself a bizarre and unnaturally shaped structure that is said to control the power of ice. It's body filled with some of the most deadly poisons in all of Monster Hunter, the combination of ice and poison evoking almost a theme of... preservatives? It's not a very popular theory in the community, but some believe this is the closest we have come to fighting the legendary "Equal Dragon Weapon", an abomination built by the ancients to fight the ancient dragons on their own terms via reanimating a Frankenstein's-monster-like combination of dragon parts with their technologies. The more reasonable would believe that to this day, the Equal Dragon Weapon exists only within the concept art book, but it can be fun to imagine.
Whoa haven't heard this before. This is INTENSE. Edit: Wow I said that a few minutes in, after getting to the second half. Wow. This POPS the heck OFF. So many surprise changes throughout.
Oh! Another good pick! This is the most ALIEN monster I’ve ever seen in the series, and it’s OST displays how DANGEROUS HE IS!! Still recommend my 2 picks from before: DISUFIORA FROM FRONTIER, and MORUDOMUNTO FROM MH EXPLORE.

Disufiroa is my recommendation. It’s the rival to Shantien and also has 3 fantastic themes, that are the polar opposite to Shantiens beautiful and elegant themes.

Nobody seems to understand that this thing, the guardian of sky corridor, is the kindest form of the game saying to hunter, "If you have met the gate keeper hound, are you sure you want to meet the thing behind this old gate?"
For some context, Frontier and it’s various updates worked independently of the main series games and had a ton of unique monsters and mechanics, like a spin-off/alternate timeline but for the series as a whole. Because of this, their music was allowed to go as hard as physically possible. In brighter news, high chance Frontier will be slowly absorbed into the Main series canon and therefor updated or remixes Frontier music!
Duremudira theme and the rest of the Frontier soundtrack is top tier. You should check out the music for Monster Hunter Online and Monster Hunter Explore it’s underrated.
As an Opera Singer, you'd probably REALLY appreciate Crimson Fatalis G from Fontier. There are 2 phases, and they are...really good. Probably best to react to the Medley upload by Dravonista. Best way I can describe it is the first theme feels like they are trying to worship and appease it, with an especially chilling vocal section featuring Emi Evans (from NieR and others. NieR is another series with great music) - and they fail, with the second theme sounding like desperate pleas to escape the wrath of what can only be described as the Devil of the franchise. Another underrated few tracks from the series is both of the Unknown monster themes (Black Fox aka Mi Ru and Black Flying Wyvern with no name, the latter of which has 2 phases. Black Fox is a nice epic, Black Flying Wyvern are just both...chaos, especially the first phase - second is more slow paced, oddly, and epic but that first phase, especially when the flute kicks in, is just pure intimidation). No vocals in them, but they are just really good - Dravonista's Unknown Medley has all 3 (although I'd turn up the volume about 25% higher for the last track, Flying Wyvern's 2nd phase, as the volume seems to be lower for that one in the medley for some reason).
Frontier miiiiight have the best overall soundtrack in MH. Helps that it’s such a huge game but every track is pretty damn top notch. You’ll find a lot of great music if you choose to keep digging
Daramudira is interesting lore-wise,it doesn't simply "exists" within the Sky-Corridor no-it was TEACHED TO GUARD IT,this absolute MONSTROSITY of a creature was somehow tammed by a ancient civilization,a god-like entity turned body-guard and THAT is the true horror of this soundtrack,it implies divinity however there is this tone of horror violence and specially desperation within it,such was the fate of all monsters that eventually crossed paths with these ancient ones,Daremudira stood as a example for them all.
I would love to see his reaction to such ogs vg composers like Kai Rosenkratz or Paul Romero (especially Heroes of M&M 2 towns themes as an opera singer), and maybe some more compositions of Jeremy Soul.
I'd recommend you give the Conquest War Crimson Fatalis theme a listen, it is the most Evil sounding themes in the series to me. It’s horrifying, yet beautiful.
If you have not listened yet I wholeheartedly reccomended listening to Garuba Daora's theme from Frontier as well as Disufiroa's theme, they're both top 5 for me as the best music Monster Hunter has

ah yes, the most intense, difficult, yet fair fight in all of MonHun an ice Elder Dragon with a poison so powerful it lowers your defense to 1 seriously tho Duremudira is so fucking cool also fun fact, in its fight carting works differently. instead of having 3 lives and then game over, you have 20 minutes to kill it and each time you 'die' you lose a whole minute. also also IT'S AN INVADER LIKE BAZELGEUSE (tho in Frontier it can't invade quests 'cuz back then the technology didn't exist)

Yes
Just stumbled on this vid looking at themes, you are definitely my favourite reactor! I loved how quick you were to the reaction, very cut to the chase, and a lot of show dont tell! I love it! I couldnt believe it! Keep it up, lots of love❤
I love the monster hunter themes, Keep up the amazing content!
Heard that it's a bit like Xenojiva
@@陳嘉宇-y4q It is in no way like Xeno apart from both being blue elders.
@@DaVideoGameBeastrMore like many people thought they are aliens, dragons that don't belong here
The way you described Duremudira as a "god" is wonderful.
@@aiden6559You can play it for free nowdays through servers hosted by the community
Ahh one of my favorite frontier monsters. The theme is soo good.
Man, you need to hear Oltura's theme from MH Stories 2, it's really good one
This is the song that plays when the world ends
Thanks a lot for the talk
Started with world so thank you for enlightening me on this monster
It took weeks for someone to finally beat its variant form
Oh! Another good pick! This is the most ALIEN monster I’ve ever seen in the series, and it’s OST displays how DANGEROUS HE IS!!
Still recommend my 2 picks from before: DISUFIORA FROM FRONTIER, and MORUDOMUNTO FROM MH EXPLORE.
god please morudomunto is such an insane theme
@@ITZzHELLFIRE1Is it the Anubis dragon ? It also has an unique earth element
Edit: No, the Anubis is the other one, but what is that ?
@@陳嘉宇-y4q bloodborne dragon is the vibe i always got from him, big crazy elder with hidden mouths on its wings and blood that solidifies into metallic spikes
@@ITZzHELLFIRE1 With a bit of more polishing, it acts as a great final update monster
@user-lq4ct6dr5m You mean Nefu Garumudo? Yes I love that theme so much I think I just stood there for a while when I first fought it
It’s one of the elder dragons I wish they bring to mainstream MH alongside Shantien from MHF
may I suggest the unknown black flying wyvern?
it is quite literally just a black rathian at first, but it becomes so much more
and the ost is great
Disufiroa is my recommendation. It’s the rival to Shantien and also has 3 fantastic themes, that are the polar opposite to Shantiens beautiful and elegant themes.
On the theme of rad boss songs. Shin Megami Tensei IV OST - Battle B2 from the Minotaur fight I need not say anymore this boss battle peice is a headbanger
2:12 FAV PART
You should give the ceadeus theme a try soon I highly recommend it. Its one of my personal favorite themes in sll of monster hunter
Duremudira has to be some of the coolest monsters ever
Not messing up with the item purchease before entering the arena is the hardest part.
You’ll find a lot of great music if you choose to keep digging
now you are obligated to do Dhisufiroa! expect absolute brutality, some sadness and a sense of defiance!
Another wonderful frontier theme is Guanzorumu’s phase 1 and 2, and his variation Ruler guanzorumu also has his own theme.
If you have not listened yet I wholeheartedly reccomended listening to Garuba Daora's theme from Frontier as well as Disufiroa's theme, they're both top 5 for me as the best music Monster Hunter has
I can recommend the "Dire Miralis" and "Gogmazios" (2x themes) to you, Gogmazios has that insane ingame twist once the second theme kicks in, but i wont spoil that here ;)
i see everyone recommending white and crimson from mhf , so on a different note i think it'd be great to see shantien or berserk laviente! still think any of the fatalis themes from mhf are worth listening to, they really are musical spectacles.
haha i hadnt even seen that hes done shantien! welp berserk is still on the table
Personally, I think the sirens sound more like the wailing of the dammed forever trapped in an enteral winter white-out storm.
Duremudira is nightmare fuel to fight, every time I have tried I have failed so far
I’m surprised he hasn’t done any of that Fatalis family yet
Marco!! You need to hear monster hunter fronter - crimson fatalis theme cause, if you think duremadura an evil god then, crimson fatalis will be the sinister devil
For those who don't know, before the introduction of the magnet spike, the best weapon in monster hunter frontier, Duremudira is simply undefeatable, as from the time it's introduced to the arrival of the magnet spike, only ONE hunter had taken down this beast
Edit : It turns out I was misinformed
This is an outright lie
@@walkyourdead8663Then what is the truth
@@陳嘉宇-y4q The opposite of what you said is the truth. Anyone with access can search 皇冰龍 and find 7+ year old clears of the monster. Heres one by one of the most talented GS players on the JP server if not the entire game ruclips.net/video/lNf_JvYPmtY/видео.html
@@陳嘉宇-y4q I knew this monster was infamous for being incredibly difficult, but how bad was it anyway?
@@aiden6559 I might be wrong with this story, but from phase one alone, AOEs that covers the entire arena, poison that kills you within seconds, and its aggression, from the gameplay I saw, even with magnet spike, it's extremely hard to dodge
That's why I thought this story to be true
i love frontier cause its the pandora's box of monster hunter
A spinoff game where instead of having the base game and a dlc the devs just did not stop adding stuff for 12 WHOLE YEARS
cause power creep kept getting crazier the new monsters ended up getting more and more unhinged
to the point where by the later updates there were being added things like (to name one thing) a super lightning debuff that would literally make your hunter have a heart attack and die
Some say it guards an unbelievably powerful artifact or a trove of treasure, some say the tower it inhabits was built as a prison to contain the mighty beast to prevent it from destroying the world. Its name is Duremudira and it rules the Sky Corridor, a mighty and ancient tower that stretches beyond the clouds build long ago with hoasts of dealty traps and monsters inside and at its peak remains this beast waiting for another victim to have the misfortune of crossing its path
Highly recommended both crimson and white fatalis themes from frontier
You need to check out Mi Ru's theme...
you should also check up on eruzerion theme
Now we need Kuarsurupursu or however you spell it from frontier

Ahem
Yeah duremudira is my favorite monster
His theme is incredible , and he was the single hardest monster on release taking a whole week for anyone to beat him
Yeah I love him
I recommend keoaruboru’s themes and Guanzorumu’s themes
Ok. Can i recommend Crimson/White Fatalis from Frontier's theme? I KNOW it will give you goosebumps.
Berserk Raviente next? also from Frontier
No offense to the main series soundtrack, I love it to death.
But Capcom had no business making Frontier (a MMO spin off)'s soundtrack so insane.
In terms of music frontier is above the main series to me
"God" is not the word that comes to mind when I listen to those beginning notes. For me personally, its "Predator." "Hunter" or just "RUN". The latter half sounds like a chase sequence.
Hey Marco, I know this channel is about videogame music; but, if you wanted to do something different, I'd love to hear your opinion 'Avatar: The Last Airbender', which according to IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes is the best cartoon of all time -- and, most importantly, has some magnificent music.
Frontier has many amazing songs, there's one theme that i'd especially wanna hear your thoughts on: Disufiroa (MHF), which got a very unique theme to it that distinguishes it from many other enemies
A few other recommendations outside MHF would be:
Ceadeus (MH3U)
Narwa (MHR)
Dire Miralis (MH3U)
I got many more, but my list would just go on and on, however I definetily think Disufiroa is worth a go!
Inugami has a cool theme if you were leaning on unique monster hunter themes
Love inugami's theme! though every time i hear it now all i can think about is the video of the theme but the beginning percussion never stops looping
The music is fantastic but I have to ask:
What the fresh hell was that hp bar?
To the end of the screen?
Like that completely took me out.
Ya those be the health bars but if your serious you go in with the HP bar lookin about as big as the clock in the corner
That’s how the health bars looked in every game before World. It’s actually the same amount of health as you have in World, they just shrunk the bar to get it less in the way. Rise actually has more health than both world and the old games because any extra you get from Spiribirds after eating is past the max from older games.
ah yes, the most intense, difficult, yet fair fight in all of MonHun
an ice Elder Dragon with a poison so powerful it lowers your defense to 1
seriously tho Duremudira is so fucking cool
also fun fact, in its fight carting works differently. instead of having 3 lives and then game over, you have 20 minutes to kill it and each time you 'die' you lose a whole minute.
also also IT'S AN INVADER LIKE BAZELGEUSE (tho in Frontier it can't invade quests 'cuz back then the technology didn't exist)
Hello there! I just wanna say I really enjoy the content! Would it be possible for you to make a reaction to Star Wars: Duel of fates? I think it would be a really nice video!
May I suggest either Zinogre or Mizutsune good sir?
you should do reaction on gear 5 theme
PLEASE do Disufiroa next
Who else wants Marco to listen to UNKNOWN's Theme?
Try Divinity 2: Ego Draconis - Main Theme by Kirill Pokrovsky(RIP)

I might have to grab a copy of Monster Hunter myself if they have such a good music.
