I get the joke, but unlike Crimson Fatalis, White Fatalis is an actual subspecies and an extremely ancient one at that. Basically a living fossil of a living fossil. So while it's an "old" Fatalis it's not a Fatalis that is old.
If the regular Fatalis song sounds like fighting the devil, then this one sounds like fighting god. It doesn't sound malicious, it sounds like the theme of a powerful deity.

One of my friends makes this joke every time we play rise! Ticks me off every time lol. He also says it's his favourite monster cause he thinks it's cute somehow.
White Fatalis has many different adaptions from its brethren. Unlike its cousins, White Fatalis is covered in glowing scales and a white mane flowing from its head to its tail. This appearance sort of resembles Kirin in some aspects. Strangely, these parts glow without even touching any type of light. Unlike Fatalis and Crimson Fatalis, White Fatalis doesn't use fire as its element but, instead uses lightning. It can breath powerful red lightning balls from its mouth and even summon giant bolts of lightning from the sky. It is said that its horns allows it to do this due to them constantly being charged. In some ancient documents, White Fatalis is said to have the ability to call for other Origin Dragons, including the other two Fatalis. One thing that all the legends share about Fatalis is its equipment. This equipment is much more than what it appears to be. When hunters wear this monster's armor, it erases their shadow and makes them glow mysteriously. Some weapons get rid of darkness and evil, while others unlock the darkness inside a person's soul. Most disturbingly, rumor has it that the hunters who wear its equipment for too long are eventually transformed into White Fatalis themselves.
The transformation part is part of black Fatalis lore not white tho it might count for both tbh. And it's due to a skill in mh frontier that literally resurrects you once you cart deplenishing your health bit by bit with a dark aura around you until you eventually die. One side note is: Many players speculate that white Fatalis is the cause of the near extinction of the human race in the Monster Hunter world. Since the first time we fight this being is on the top of the ancient tower in Monster Hunter DOS (2005) which was once home of an ancient civilization that was incredibly technologically advanced. This civilization was so in control over the world that we can find ruins pretty much everywhere in the games. The ancient tower is a little special tho: aside from the fact that is literally built with kushala daora's steel skin (which lets imagine just how many were hunted down to build that thing), it was used for experiments and rituals involving elder dragons that eventually ended with a catastrophe when the civilization's greed took over their senses and started decimating the lives of countless monsters, until a war between humans and dragons started. Supposedly white Fatalis (or ancient Fatalis, because yes, white Fatalis is actually an extremely old fatalis who's old enough for it to be called Ancestral Dragon, ancestor to every wyvern in monster hunter maybe even black Fatalis itself)as punishment obliterated every trace of human existence in the world with very few left when it saw its brethren slaughtered. this event is basically why the human villages are scattered and fragmented all over the lands with not many cities, a literal post apocalyptic world. This dragon war is what led to the foundation of the Hunter's guild and the reason why humans, sea people and wyvernians are so in touch with nature and respect it so much. So that mistakes of the past that were punished so harshly will not be committed again. Also GIVE ME HOT FISH Edit: I forgot about one thing. White Fatalis is ( just like black Fatalis) supposedly a supernatural being since that aside from stuff we know Fatalis does: literally appearing out of nowhere and leaving without living trace of its precence (other than the obvious destruction it brings of course lol). White Fatalis can literally create wormholes from by summoning an eclipse as we see in Monster Hunter 4 ultimate. Leading to the theory that Fatalis is actually not a natural Monster that was maybe created by ancient civilization or maybe is a being that's not part of that world and can travel through dimentions. Yeah it's very weird to see something like that in monster hunter but that's exactly why Fatalis is so beloved by the fans. It's both incredibly simple in visual design and alienating when we compare it to the other monsters. Since it resembles a normal European dragon while other monsters are crazy looking but at the same time it gives you a chill down your spine when you feel its aura. Its something that shouldn't exist in that world and yet it's there for some reason.
There are no rumours of turning into a white Fatalis. Like literally nothing. You don't even die or disappear while wearing the armour. You become enlightened and invincible, turning into a paragon of your own choosing.
@@peepoo2049it's just lightning. He doesn't have dragon element. Not beyond what all other elders have at least. He's got as much dragon element as Teostra and Kushala.
Arguably the final boss of the entire franchise. It hasn't had the most interesting and exciting fight of the bunch as it never received a newer gen makeover like the regular Black Fatalis did, but it still made one hell of an entrance. Like, most of the time, the intro cutscene of a Fatalis just shows them emerging from the background or flying by, but the intro for White Fatalis consists of a sudden solar eclipse and the white dragon suddenly appearing from the blackness that appears to have swallowed the sun. Which is kind of crazy to think about: If you fight White Fatalis, there's a good chance the entire planet will notice.
Agreed. There's something about white fatalis that's just on a completely different level than any other monster out there. Most, if not ALL other "final" creatures in the franchise invoke some cataclysm that could swallow the whole world if left unchecked... With white fatalis, it feels like it's just waking up and the world is its breakfast before it takes on so much more. There's something of a universal threat to this dragon that feels not just otherworldly, but interplanar. This isn't a creature that will destroy a world. This is a creature that will rewrite a universe. I think if the newer gen games ever remade white fatalis, they would have an incredibly difficult time telling another story that could top the amount of peril that would be presented by it. Shagaru magala threatened a sort of zombie apocalypse... Amatsumagatsuchi threatened a world-swallowing storm... Safi'jiiva presented itself as the unstoppable threat of life itself... White fatalis presents a threat beyond mortal understanding, potentially on a cosmic level.
final boss would be the rumored 6-horned fatalis, legend says its apprearance will bring about the end of the world but you didnt hear it from me, hunter...
I hope world 2 will bring crimson and white at the end. Like with a sequence where we have Fatalis rising from castle shrade and with the final horn growing back it starts to turn crimson red flying towards the elders recess in search for revenge against the hunter that has slain it once
I love fatalis and the fact that he stands out by just being a normal looking dragon and i love the fact that white fatalis is so powerful he blocks out the sun and flies out from the hole he put in front of it along with the fact that it is very heavily implied that white fatalis was the fatalis that burned schrade and sent the world back to the stone age i think his theme really sends that point across that even amongst the strogest this one is different in his godly visage and his crimson lightning just pairs so well with his white scales
"Invited by people." Oh, they invited it alright. The Dragon and its wrath. Tbh, I think one of the most impressive parts about this track is how it and the other Fatalis tracks never fail to invoke this feeling of awe and crippling dread. You can really tell the composers put passion into these songs.
You should do White Fatalis' Frontier theme (you'll be blown away) and you should do Crimson Fatalis' 4u and Frontier themes. All of those themes are beautiful and terrifying at the same time. You should really give them a listen.
I love how he just enjoys this theme. Monster Hunter really has a phenomenal soundtrack and everyone, even if not interested in gaming should listen to it
The whistle like sound you hear at the beginning is White Fatalis signature sound. And now that you mention a summoning, in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate the mere precense of White Fatalis creates a literal eclipse like vortex from wich it comes out to fight you.
IIRC White Fatalis' theme is titled "Ancestral Dragon" because in canon, White Fatalis is something like the Mew figure of the Monster Hunter world - the oldest living ancestor of all the dragons and wyverns you'll ever fight. Everything about its design sells this - its pure white scales and mane - with an additional beard - evoking the wise old man. Its massive horns are noticeably longer than its "younger" forms, Crimson and regular Fatalis. It attacks primarily with red lighting as opposed to fire, too. Its special into cutscene in 4 Ultimate depicts it literally flying out of a solar eclipse. This is the same place the "primordial spirit" vibe in the theme comes from - White Fatalis is truly ancient and the music sells it perfectly. the only thing that doesn't is its weird high pitched squeal roar - though honestly its grown on me lol
@@kingofflames738 neither of you are right XD in fact theres a theory and some implications that fatalis in general might not even be of this world. hes the ancestral dragon cause hes supposed to be an old as shit fatalis.
@@samuraibeluga3749 I'm quite literally right because that's what its literal title is and what the devs wrote in the info book about the forbidden monsters.
@@kingofflames738 as far as im aware that statement was more in regards to why they designed him the way they did, they wanted him to look like he could be the ancestor of all elders, to amplify the concept of something truly ancient and old. not so much his actual lore. how can the ancestor, from an evolutionary defenition, of something still exist among the things that originated from him? but you know all i have is gaijin translation/wording so im not going to claim absolutes here and im willing to accept being wrong if you can provide an alternate translation where your interpretation is more evident.
That scene about the monster rising up from the bottom of a mountain top is extremely similar to the cutscene that introduces White Fatalis in MH4U. Recommend watching that intro cutscene and you'll see how well the music and actual scene as well as your perception line up with it
Have you ever heard the theme of the Ceadeus from monster hunter tri? It's a great theme too, with two distinct parts, both awesome in their own ways. Often forgotten as there's no more truly aquatic monster since MH tri.
It's a shame they never gave it a second chance after Tri/3U. All they really needed to do was make the player's movesets not so ridiculously gimped while underwater. They went too far with it, especially with weapons like SnS that felt like they reverted to MHFU-tier uselessness.
White Fatalis to me is more than a monster. More than even a force of nature. A representation of primordial fury, and the purity of destruction. White and red are also such a beautiful color scheme for him, mixed with the beard and hair along his spine. Ancient yet striking.
Indeed this is an amazing track. Captures the sort of divine grace and power of this incarnation of Fatalis, a combination of primal, ancient and godly. However, Monster Hunter Frontier, the same game that gave us Shantien, also gave White Fatalis' theme a second phase that I do recommend you check out if you haven't already. "Ultimate White Fatalis" or "Frontier G Rank White Fatalis" should get you in the ball park. I feel that it is a worthy followup to this theme, but I'll let you be the judge.
Oh man... the nostalgia I'm having right now is indescribable. Fighting this majestic old dragon together with 2 of my older brothers. Watching one of them got one shot by its lightning bolt.
When you start the quest in 4U, the cinematic for this God of monsters is literally an eclipse happening and opening a portal to another dimension. Out of which comes out the White Fatalis. All the while his theme starts playing. Really gives you that feeling of "mom pick me up I'm scared"
The fact that it took you 4 minutes to even speak says a lot... this is one of my absolute favorites of the franchise, second only to "Mi Ru Battle Theme" from Monster Hunter Frontier. This theme has been my phone's ringtone for several years and my family knows this theme thanks to it, they ask to play this theme and it's remixes during car rides and it's awesome to hear it with surround sound! You'll thank me later after you give it a try 😉
Interesting fact about the section at 0:51 is that it's part of a stock library. The ost Les Soldats from the old anime Noir has the exact same verse at around 14 or 16 seconds in.
Love this style of music with bells. This particular theme reminds me El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron's main battle theme. edit: I looked up the composers for both tracks and coincidentally, they were both composed by Masato Kouda. Got to love when that happens.
White Fatalis, the death god of monster hunter. I remember fighting it back in Freedom Unite. It lived upbto its name back then, and this song just adds to that fireboding sense of divine dread it carries.
the "marimba" sounds like a fast indonesian saron barung to me. it gives me a south east asian vibe, something ancient that was forgotten. I got a similar vibe by the ambience of the nua te village theme in monster hunter stories 2, like stumbling apon a living version of the city of angkor or something.
This certainly scratches my Monster Hunter itch! Gotta love the chanting, it's really incredible and kinda primal-feeling. Honestly, I was expecting the next one to have been Disufiroa given the venture into MH: Frontier. Since you enjoyed this one, I have zero doubt Disufiroa's theme will blow you away. It's been at the top of my 'On Repeat' playlist on Spotify for months now 😆
I recommend listening the Monster whunter Frontier theme of White Fatalis, as well as the MH4u and MHFrontier theme of Crimson Fatalis This is the most legendary monster of the Monster Hunter Universe Fatalis is a really powerful and legendary monster, White Fatalis is on a whole other level for both, it is said to come from a different world Some individuals have evolved to master red lightnings ( or maybe it's White Fatalis who evolved into the fire breathing Fatalis ?? ) This theme still is to this day one of the most unique theme of the series, you understand that you're not fighting a god-like beast, but a beast that isn't supposed to exist at all, that doesn't belong to this world and yeah it loops, the theme is quite old, the soundtrack of monsters back in the day were pretty short compared to the last 2 games, I really hope this guy will see his fight cope back and remade like Fatalis did
Im really glad you have listened to the white Fatalis theme I’ve only watched my cousin fight it but damn that music was intense, it really invokes the feeling of “you are fighting something primordial, something ancient, a god” with those drums and bell-like instruments Frontier Crimson Fatalis theme is also something that makes you feel scared with just the music Morudomunto’s theme (from Monster Hunter Explore) also triggers that feeling , you know it’s serious when they put in vocals I recommend listening to those two songs, they are fantastic as well
Glad to see another Monster Hunter track taking center stage, especially the white fatalis theme seeing as it truely hits different. And speaking of themes that hit different if you haven't heard it yet i cannot recommend enough the Ceadeus theme from Monster Hunter tri, it is without a doubt one of my favorites.
Eyy this is one of the suggestion that i put in discord niceee I really like this theme because of how different it sounds from normal fatalis theme, there is actually a 2nd part of this song that goes way more hard with the lady singing in the song singing in high notes with more powerful voice and louder almost covering the other choir White Fatalis or "Old Fatalis" as the game says lol is one of the best monsters in the series because rather than using Fire this one uses Red Lighting imbued with the Dragon Element and is very powerful than the normal and crimson. The area that u fight this thing both is also very cool the one with the blue Eclipse and the Frontier one (on the Tower i think? If not mistaken) Anyway, very cool song, very cool concept, very cool monster, all and all perfect (also would like to put out of the rumors that said that this fatalis is the origin one that destroyed Schrade which now has ascended to a higher being, kind of unreal but still a cool theory in my opinion)
White Fatalis theme from Frontier has a continuation of this base theme. Edit: A second phase if you will. I recommend to listen the 1st phase up until the 2nd phase.
White Fatalis's 4th gen intro's really sell this monster, for instead of it appearing from the clouds to attack you like in older games, White Fatalis appears from a black hole which forms as the result of an eclipse, before landing upon a pillar and then summoning down red lighting to begin the fight.
My favorite monster and his theme across every single game, every variant of it. Such power in the song you really feel like youre fighting some ancient being, a god of death even
It’s such a man incredible thing to see. So this fights final stage locks you in an arena where it’s you and him in a fight to the death. And the fact that you use desperation and described it with “you will not take me” is just like wow Music really is amazing
I will say i also love that this is the one creature to ever actually "kill" thr player should they get hit by certain attacks outright and its not just in lore like normal fatalis melting down hunters into his scales for a grim macabre armor white fatalis in frontier i think can send you directly back to the village instead of carting you implying you died and there was nothing left of you to the other players in the hunt
Capcom composers are something else. I think both the Megaman series and Monster Hunter series have some of the best music consistently across ALL of the history of video games. Just some insane composers here. I love that the theme is just horror and awe 24/7. The repetitiveness really adds to that. You are fighting a God and you will damnwell know it! I know you reviewed the Iceborne Alatreon theme already, but I'd love if you listened to the original someday (it's from Tri, but I recommend the XX version for a high quality rip of the same song). It's terrifying and, from what I know, the first MH song to use electric guitars, so I feel like it's really special! But I say this because it is more simple than the World one, I would say, but I think that sometimes older MH music is better than the stuff in World that adds new sections and solos and such. Simple but very effective.
Praised be the Lord for I did not think this day would come. I remember I commented on one of your videos that I wish you could review this soundtrack close to a year ago and at some point after spamming the same comment for months I gave up hope that you would ever see it but here it is and I thank you for it.
its amazing how "older than time itself" his theme feels like and it talks much about the monster in that sense, him,Nakarkos and YamaTsukami these ritualistic chants within them not only making them feel like literal gods but also beings sooo ancient we can't even atempt to comprehend them,in the case of YamaTsukami and Nakarkos they feel like unrelenting parts of natures,YamaTsukami being a dammed biome eater (legit-it is stated to have such powerfull suction force it can consume whole lands by itself) and Nakarkos being literal death in the world of monster hunter (nothing can exist where Nakarkos lies but himself, anything that goes near him is only there to be devoured and have its bones become part of its den),WhiteFatalis tho has this "human made god" vibe to it and, considering the only "canon" we have for him,it forms this image of a ruthless god coming down from the heavens only to punish existence as a whole and humanity can't do much aside from admit defeat, sitting down and chanting in his very name
A number of years back when Capcom/Monster Hunter updated White Fatalis' theme, I tried to really listen in and come up with what sounds like the lyrics to the song. Keeping in mind all the lore from the introductions of Fatalis and White Fatalis, all the way up to now; that we have seen since MH:Freedom Unite, this is what I was managed to hear from it: Now a dark beast Has been unleashed From the tower By a black wish Stanza 2: Men: Women: T H E Had we forgotten? E N D The people scattered.. C O M E S That world had fallen. And so we struggle! Stanza 3: Men: Women: Can not beat him C A N ‘ T There’s no people, BEAR HOW STRONG From the whole world, ENEMY Can defeat him! HAS BECOME! So all we knew, endless death, in seeing the fall [ Women: The end has come! ] So all we knew ends in death and see the LIGHT!
This is definitely one of the best tracks in the whole series of MH, and I have to ask you to please listen to de version from de 15th anniversary, it is life changing, I have no other words that cone close to describing the experience of listening to that one. You can look up "soul of the world White fatalis" (its the one with a picture of the white dragon). Please listen to it even if its not on a video, its an incredible piece! Also, glad you keep covering MH, its my favorite series.
Marco comparing White Fatalis' theme to a primordial spirit emerging from a volcano is extremely funny to me because I recently this song for that exact purpose in a DnD campaign I recently wrapped up
You really should check out the Medley for Crimson Fatalis from Frontier G. I think the second phase will make you feel some emotions for sure. First phase is haunting, but the second phase is just...pure fear. Also, White Fatalis has a second phase in Frontier Z as well, worth checking out for its opera vocals. Shantien Medley is also incredible, but I don't recall any vocals in it.
I actually wrote a little scene reimagining the intro to this very monster a while back: As your transport nears it's destination, you give one final check to ensure your armor is fitted securely. An air of quiet dread surrounds you and your fellow hunters. You all know what you have been tasked to do, but it's hard to believe even now. A soft *thud* and you shift to maintain balance as you land on solid ground. You and your colleagues share an uneasy look as you take your first steps onto the infamous Castle Schraede, what's left of it. Stone and sand crunch beneath your feet as you walk through the ruins; the smell of dust and old stone the only things that greet you. What feels like hours pass as you make your way to a courtyard that opens to the sky. A glimpse at the sun. Midday. It's quiet. You've always hated when it's quiet. You guess an hour passes before anything happens, but it's hard to tell when the sky suddenly goes dark. Glancing upward, where the sun used to be is now what appears to be just a dark hole, odd blue streaks like cracks in the sky itself coming from it. Then you hear it. The sound of massive wing beats as you see a white dot seemingly coming from the hole in the sky. Not a minute passes and the creature, now clearly a dragon, comes into full view and lands on a nearby pillar, and _looks_ at you. You can feel the weight of eternity behind those eyes. Nothing has looked at you with such intelligence, such _disdain_ before. You swallow the lump of fear rising in your throat and grip your weapon tighter. It's far too late to run now.
Anyone else like the dichotomy between the base Fatalis theme feeling like imminent danger and the White Fatalis theme feeling like you have been selected as a sacrifice and you're headed for the altar. Or like judgement is upon you
You should definitely check out the intro cutscene for white fatalis as well. Easily my favorite in the entire series and it isn’t particularly close. He stopped the fucking MOON in place.
I was just listening to Monster Hunter OST's doing dishes wondering if YOU had any videos covering this game's music and what you think of a lot of melodic based video game music like this, mega man, or Pokemon! And boom this is on my feed right after. Very stoked to watch this.
If you want to know the instrument that had similiar sound with the soundtrack is, the closest sound in real life for this theme, is this: ruclips.net/user/shorts1rGeCS5R1Ms?si=l18_e0O-7_xmhA5g It's called Gamelan, from indonesia, there lot of version, but the closest one with the fatalis theme is Javanese version.
That Marimba/Steel Drum instrument you're hearing is probably a Gamelan. It's an instrument from my home in South-East Asia that was traditionally played for royalty. So playing it for White Fatalis is already hailing it as a monarch. A King.
The single coolest monster ever. Even among the most unnatural and vile of the Elder Dragons, White Fatalis truly defies all explanation, seemingly just appearing out of thin air, with its very presence transforming the sun into a twisted dark ecliptic maelstrom. Able to call down pillars of light that vaporise hunters on the spot. Thousands of years old, the oldest thing to ever exist, the last ancestor of everything and sole remaining member of its ancient species, the White Fatalis is a hateful living manifestation of the bizarre dragon energy found throughout Monster Hunter and wields that power to such a masterful degree that it is to the god-like creatures of the world what they are to a human. And even better than that: it might be able to time travel. The giant purple swirling eclipse it spawns very well could be a portal to a long distant past or future where this thing originally came from.
Oh my god yessssss this my favorite theme in monster hunter I thought this was never gonna be requested since everyone usually asks for mh world tracks
Hey @MarcoMeatball! I love your insights into all the music you analyse. I wonder what you say to Vode An Gra'tua Cuun Ka'rta Tor. It seems to be right up your alley.
Love how his first coment is "it feels like summoning a primordial spirit" and this is the theme from 4 ultimate where fatalis apears from the mf-ing eclips
i personally believe third gen monster hunter is where it evolved into a blessing to my ears at all times, white fatalis is from 2nd gen, where the effort for themes was focused on specific ones like kushala daora (a flagship) and nargacuga (another flagship), and ending themes sung by The Diva
The music box like sounds reminded me so much of the final fight in Drakengard 3 / Nier Automata music. Probably because it has the same dramatic effect - the foe you are facing is ancient and equally as old as it is powerful.
The steel drums sound a lot like the gamelan. I used to play this instrument in music class back at middle school. An incredibles beautiful sounding instrument
Surpised that you didnt hear the 2nd part of the song. This just when you first start the hunt, part 2 is when White Fatalis actually see you as a treat to him.
Interesting assessment of the theme, and for most of it I agree. But at one point you mention that it sounds almost like White Fatalis is invited to fight. I'd argue it's the other way around. The player is invited to try to defeat the primal inevitability of White Fatalis. It is the closest thing to a god in the MH world, the ender of civilisations and the ancestor of elder dragons. The song is both a terrifying anthem of humanity's doom at White Fatalis's proverbial hands, and a challenge to the hunters, the players, to try and stop fate itself. In any case, really cool assessment of the themes in the music. It's always enlightening to see what goes through the heads of professionals when it comes to such subjective topics as music and cinematography.
If you heard the White Fatalis theme from Monster Hunter Frontier, your mind will explode. The first part is the same as this theme, but then... then you'll get extremely impressed. Every time I listen to that part, I always get goosebumps. It's just the anger of a God in that song. And then we have the Crimson Fatalis theme... uff... it's like evil made song... for real. There are many versions of it, like from MH4U of the 3DS, but there are other versions with a more slow but enjoyable pace.
This is what happens when you let something live beyond the expiration date.

White fatalis presents a threat beyond mortal understanding, potentially on a cosmic level.
white fatalis vs safi jiiva who will win?
@@Teddyponsel2626 white fatalis
final boss would be the rumored 6-horned fatalis, legend says its apprearance will bring about the end of the world
but you didnt hear it from me, hunter...
The more western the dragon in MonHun, the more the "Oh shit, we're dead" factor increases.
White Fatalis has a phase 2 OST in Frontier that is also worth looking into
"Invited by people." Oh, they invited it alright.

Hell yeah they're fantastic in frontier
It's so scary when hear the sound the first time while playing xD
He's not the ancestor of wyverns, only of Elder Dragons specifically.
No one ever hunt the White Fatalis, people don't even know it's real or not, it's mysterious.
Fatalis is a monster of legend, so I guess that it makes sense why each variant/subspecies deserves a different theme......
White Fatalis to me is more than a monster. More than even a force of nature. A representation of primordial fury, and the purity of destruction. White and red are also such a beautiful color scheme for him, mixed with the beard and hair along his spine. Ancient yet striking.
I was looking forward to this... BLESS ME HOT FISH!

I can't be the only one who's just hid in a corner of white fatalis arena to listen to his theme. 😅
I also hid because he's loki terrifying.
Flashbacks in big ancient dragon spawning from the deeps of a fucking blackhole-like ecplipse 💀
To add to this the name of the theme is called "The True Ancestor"
Oh man... the nostalgia I'm having right now is indescribable. Fighting this majestic old dragon together with 2 of my older brothers. Watching one of them got one shot by its lightning bolt.
that feeling when you solo him with a frying pan was the definition of "let him cook"
Man I still remember when I first fought it with my older brother in freedom unite and I was like...5 at the time? Damn
White Fatalis is the only monster i didnt beat in the game i first fought it in.
What a monster
Wait, this actually goes hard..
All the Fatalis themes (mainline and Frontier) are bangers
That's monster hunter for you! Also pleasant surprise seeing you here.
It's the tune of our ancestor baby
The power of god, F E A R
Interesting fact about the section at 0:51 is that it's part of a stock library. The ost Les Soldats from the old anime Noir has the exact same verse at around 14 or 16 seconds in.
Give me hot fish
Send me hot fish

It's been at the top of my 'On Repeat' playlist on Spotify for months now 😆
If this is your reaction to base White
Ultimate White will have you in shock
I recommend listening the Monster whunter Frontier theme of White Fatalis, as well as the MH4u and MHFrontier theme of Crimson Fatalis
This is the most legendary monster of the Monster Hunter Universe
Fatalis is a really powerful and legendary monster, White Fatalis is on a whole other level for both, it is said to come from a different world
Some individuals have evolved to master red lightnings ( or maybe it's White Fatalis who evolved into the fire breathing Fatalis ?? )
This theme still is to this day one of the most unique theme of the series, you understand that you're not fighting a god-like beast, but a beast that isn't supposed to exist at all, that doesn't belong to this world
and yeah it loops, the theme is quite old, the soundtrack of monsters back in the day were pretty short compared to the last 2 games, I really hope this guy will see his fight cope back and remade like Fatalis did
Big Monster Hunter fan here! The White Fatalis theme is one my of my faves. Happy to see you react to more MH themes Marco :)
4:24 You almost described Giasmagorm in a nutshell, as thats similar.
Im really glad you have listened to the white Fatalis theme
I’ve only watched my cousin fight it but damn that music was intense, it really invokes the feeling of “you are fighting something primordial, something ancient, a god” with those drums and bell-like instruments
Frontier Crimson Fatalis theme is also something that makes you feel scared with just the music
Morudomunto’s theme (from Monster Hunter Explore) also triggers that feeling , you know it’s serious when they put in vocals
I recommend listening to those two songs, they are fantastic as well
the background tune of the entire track sends chills up my spine everytime i hear it and i cant comprehend why.
I love how as soon as the chanting started, that's when the fear kicks in. You can pinpoint the frame he feels his heart sink.
One does not speak in the presence of a God.
One only bows and awaits Judgment.
Regular white fatalis is the summoning of the god while frontier white fatalis is the wrath of that god
Now you gotta listen to frontier white Fatalis. That theme is powerful.
Eyy this is one of the suggestion that i put in discord niceee
I really like this theme because of how different it sounds from normal fatalis theme, there is actually a 2nd part of this song that goes way more hard with the lady singing in the song singing in high notes with more powerful voice and louder almost covering the other choir
White Fatalis or "Old Fatalis" as the game says lol is one of the best monsters in the series because rather than using Fire this one uses Red Lighting imbued with the Dragon Element and is very powerful than the normal and crimson. The area that u fight this thing both is also very cool the one with the blue Eclipse and the Frontier one (on the Tower i think? If not mistaken)
Anyway, very cool song, very cool concept, very cool monster, all and all perfect (also would like to put out of the rumors that said that this fatalis is the origin one that destroyed Schrade which now has ascended to a higher being, kind of unreal but still a cool theory in my opinion)
White Fatalis theme from Frontier has a continuation of this base theme.
Edit:
A second phase if you will.
And the fact that you use desperation and described it with “you will not take me” is just like wow
Music really is amazing
this thems is just goosebumps all over - the nostalgic rush and the mosnter and fight itself just wonderfull as final to mhfu
Keeping in mind all the lore from the introductions of Fatalis and White Fatalis, all the way up to now; that we have seen since MH:Freedom Unite, this is what I was managed to hear from it:
Now a dark beast
Has been unleashed
From the tower
By a black wish
Stanza 2:
Men:
Women:
T H E
Had we forgotten?
E N D
The people scattered..
C O M E S
That world had fallen.
And so we struggle!
Stanza 3:
Men:
Women:
Can not beat him
C A N ‘ T
There’s no people, BEAR HOW STRONG
From the whole world, ENEMY
Can defeat him!
HAS BECOME!
So all we knew, endless death, in seeing the fall
[ Women: The end has come! ]
So all we knew ends in death and see the LIGHT!
There is a reason why this song is one of my all time favorites
Marco comparing White Fatalis' theme to a primordial spirit emerging from a volcano is extremely funny to me because I recently this song for that exact purpose in a DnD campaign I recently wrapped up
beatuiful song, even matches its in-game armor descriptions
Fun fact, in MH2G hunter was the one who got invited to the dance. The mission description was actually a dance invitation from a lady in white dress.
I actually wrote a little scene reimagining the intro to this very monster a while back:
As your transport nears it's destination, you give one final check to ensure your armor is fitted securely.
Im late but this ia a track were the roars and screeches really add to the tension and atmosphere
Anyone else like the dichotomy between the base Fatalis theme feeling like imminent danger and the White Fatalis theme feeling like you have been selected as a sacrifice and you're headed for the altar. Or like judgement is upon you
"Left me Afraid and Speechless."
*Proceeds to just vibe with the music through the entire video*
Who doesn't?
So stoked you got around to reviewing this dude!
Now onto frontiers Crimson fatalis, you may recognize a familiar voice in that one.
Very stoked to watch this.
white fatalis actually flies out of an eclipse one of the hardest openings in monster hunter
i still remember running all over the arena frantically dodging those dragon lighting
I started this video, then suddenly had lightning and thunder outside, as though White Fatalis itself descended in response to its theme.
When the bearded dragon lives 5 years past its maximum lifespan
If you want to know the instrument that had similiar sound with the soundtrack is, the closest sound in real life for this theme, is this: ruclips.net/user/shorts1rGeCS5R1Ms?si=l18_e0O-7_xmhA5g
It's called Gamelan, from indonesia, there lot of version, but the closest one with the fatalis theme is Javanese version.
When I think of soundtracks suitable to fight a god to, this is one of the ones I think of.
The giant purple swirling eclipse it spawns very well could be a portal to a long distant past or future where this thing originally came from.
this theme feels like heaven and hell, maybe even the entire universe itself, is watching you fight god
White Fatalis was an experience in Monster Hunter 2 that I'll never forget.
Frontier crimson fatalis is truly something (especially phase 1).
And frontier (hunter road) White Fatalis is also interesting.
So much nostalgia with this song!
Playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite with friends.
*now listen to the frontier version*
Love how his first coment is "it feels like summoning a primordial spirit" and this is the theme from 4 ultimate where fatalis apears from the mf-ing eclips
i personally believe third gen monster hunter is where it evolved into a blessing to my ears at all times, white fatalis is from 2nd gen, where the effort for themes was focused on specific ones like kushala daora (a flagship) and nargacuga (another flagship), and ending themes sung by The Diva
Perfect analogy 👍
You should also check out the frontier excusive version, it gets wild
The very theme that got me to Monster Hunter. Glad you finally got to listen to it
I still cant believe we actually able to hunt just a regular Fatalis as cannon. Cant imagine being able to hunt a god of all monsters.
Now, imagine if it was remade the same way they remade black fatalis' theme in MHW.
My ears mught ascend.
This is the best reaction I wasn't expecting to see. A very pleasant surprise. 👍
The music box like sounds reminded me so much of the final fight in Drakengard 3 / Nier Automata music.
Probably because it has the same dramatic effect - the foe you are facing is ancient and equally as old as it is powerful.
"I am Fatalis, and I, HAVE HAD ENOUGH"
-The theme
The steel drums sound a lot like the gamelan. I used to play this instrument in music class back at middle school. An incredibles beautiful sounding instrument
Marco have you listened to G-Rank Crimson Fatalis from Frontier?
Surpised that you didnt hear the 2nd part of the song. This just when you first start the hunt, part 2 is when White Fatalis actually see you as a treat to him.
No doesn’t, the second theme was added in frontier and only plays for the second phase of the hunting road white fatalis
God, the memories... I used to fight this Fatalis just to listen to his theme in MHFU. He always wrecks me. XD
You should listen Gore Magala's (and his evoled form) theme.
I get a sense of "This is the final boss of final bosses, and you're all fucked" from this
