Nobody shut up through out the piece , I could hear every word and people laughing, I’m sure they weren’t laughing about me, I hope. One girl even said aloud I can’t see his fingers and then leant over the piano and for rest of the piece stared at me then my fingers and at me then my fingers and so on, I played the piece terribly but people still congratulated me

I've experienced two events like these. 1) While we were playing Carmina burana in an open air concert, the first trumpet player fainted right at the end of "O Fortuna" and fell of his chair. He was alright. 2) A few days ago while we were recording for the Geneva wind music contest, a cameraman fainted while standing above the orchestra. He fell right on our first clarinet player, who had to go to hospital to get some stitches on his head. They were both alright.
.I can't laugh because I was a musician myself and the conductor once told to me suddenly to improvise in the middle of a music, which I didn't know the harmony. I deny multiple times, but he insisted , and It was a disaster I never forget! hahaha Thank god it was before people have cell phone, if not, I could be one of those accidents aux concerts! Explanation: it was not a murder. Before that guy takes the gun out someone turned off the light as part of scenario performance and to let the light's gun shot flashes up as all whole murdering drama. The gun shot performance was part of the end of masterpiece.

The recording of the Portsmouth Sinfonia playing this is one of the funniest things I have ever heard. It had me when it was first released in the 1970s and it still makes me weak with laughter. Thing is, although nobody was playing an instrument they knew how to play and some people were beginners, everyone was giving it their very best and at no point do you lose track of what the piece is supposed to sound like. Their other recordings are almost as good. This was not a comedy act, it had a serious musical purpose. These things happen it’s good they all seemed cool and professional. I feel sorry for that boy in the back row that took a nasty tumble and poor old specs at 4.38.
My vocal teacher would have all her students do a recital roughly 2-4 times a year. One of those recitals was a disaster. It was just brutal - over half the performers (voice and piano) choked. Forgotten lyrics, poorly played pieces...it just kept happening. I was pretty close with my teacher, and she told me she was just gripping her seat the entire time... I actually do well in those situations, and am very thankful that I didn't forget any lyrics lol! And you could actually feel the audience relax once it became clear that I wasn't going to choke. Not that I'm above it, but I'm glad it at least didn't happen that time.

I actually do well in those situations, and am very thankful that I didn't forget any lyrics lol! And you could actually feel the audience relax once it became clear that I wasn't going to choke. Not that I'm above it, but I'm glad it at least didn't happen that time.
