I think it's kind of like grasping motion, it helps portray emotion and regret, while at the same time kind of creating a resistance to support the belt, idk how else to describe that, try doing it while really trying to stretching your fifinger's out.
okay wait to clarify it's using your hands to mimicking what youre doing vocally. when you make the "slice" motion it kind of helps solidify vocal resistance by making a physical gesture. It's sort of similar to when people moves their hands up and down with each note. i know that probably doesn't make much sense but as a singer it actually helps lol

Did I just watch the entire Newsies: The Broadway Musical, go on RUclips to find behind the scenes stuff than start watching all of these compilations instead of finishing the paper that was due yesterday? Yes, yes I did.

Watching these makes me sad I can never be a real theatre kid. I can listen to every musical under the sun but I’m homeschooled and our community theatre director doesn’t do real musicals, she just does plays that are usually no more than an hour long. We did Annie and Frozen Jr once but overall she just doesn’t really get into musicals.
My dream is to be on Broadway but I can’t even do community theatre and that hurts.

Yo SAME. I love really good choreography AND a few of the characters helped with my gender crisis!! This will always be my favorite musical and I will fight everyone who hates it
I literally make that 👏🏻 movement all the time whenever I’m singing higher. The lower hand is so I remember to keep the power from my abdomen (?) and the higher hand is for the note going up - at least for me
the guy doing the b flats actually hurt my ears. props to him for reaching them but damn my head hurts now
I feel for the girl at 8:30. I was also stays away from opening in legally blonde as professor Callaghan. It sucks but thankfully Michael Rupert (the og prof on Broadway) donated and helped me produce a production of Falsettos where I got to play Marvin (which he also originated on Broadway) so it truely made up for missing out on legally blonde. Marvin was my dream role at the time.

I'm ensemble and secondary character for my schools production of little prince
It made me so sad when they were getting ready for Frozen Jr. Because I was supposed to be in Frozen Jr. But it was cancelled because of Covid. I was in grade 8 so I had a good shot at the leads, so it's really sad cause I don't know if I'll ever get another chance at a lead, cause there are some really talented people in this program. They are a year older than me so this was my only year when they weren't there and I could have made it. 😪
I’m doing Frozen Jr. at my school, auditions in September! I’m in ninth grade (last year of middle school where I live) and I think I have a good shot. Crossing my fingers!
