      Deliberately and knowing corrupting the proper function of the committee. The public servants being questioned have a legal obligation to answer honestly and explicitly, it is a criminal offence for a public servant to decieve or lie under scrutiny, if it can be shown that the minister supporting the public servants have directed them to deceive the parliament he would be charged as an accessory

      The best defence to any claims of a cover-up would've been "here are the numbers you requested from last week, we had them double-checked for changes first thing this morning, these are accurate as of 6AM today". Think of how many millions of dollars AFP and state police are investing (wasting?) on their IT infrastructure each year.. and these "ifs" buts" and "Mister Senators" are all they can output.

    The chair is unaware of her role to ensure the meeting is run efficiently, she takes no charge of the responsibility of those who serve the public unwilling to answer questions that are to the point of national safety and community safety.     The Chair should be sacked! HER behavior is outrageous. It’s the job of the chair to ensure that questions (especially those asked with PLENTY OF NOTICE), should be ANSWERED IN FULL AS ASKED! And not the bureaucratic waffling and constantly interrupting and DISRESPECTFUL CHAIR WHO CANT EVEN DO HER JOB! Her job is to SHUT UP and let the questioner ask their questions and hold the government officials ACCOUNTABLE for their work (or lack thereof). The Chair does NOT get to interrupt or challenge the questioner (who asked all of his questions respectfully and patiently) just because the Chair doesn’t like the NATURE of the question and the potential of the answer to embarrass the government for covering up their ineptitude or corruption or inaction - THAT is the whole purpose of the bloody committee! To hold the government ACCOUNTABLE and question their actions/inactions and this Chair CLEARLY is biased, obfuscating and participating in any cover up if she does not insist and/or sanction those on the government’s side from answering the questions AS ASKED AND ONLY AS ASKED and IN FULL! The Chair is clearly incompetent at her job and/or involved in this COVERUP. WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND TO KNOW THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS ABOUT CRIMINALS ROAMING OUR COUNTRY UNSUPERVISED!       I don't think the chair is incompetent. The chair knows exactly what she is doing; which is to obstruct senator Paterson whenever he gets close to exposing bureaucratic corruption. I think the chair did her job commendably well. She nearly singlehandedly stopped senator Paterson getting to the truth. The chair seems to be very competent at carrying out the task she has been assigned, which appears to be to cover up the truth no matter what, no matter how absurd her objections appear to be. For these obvious reasons I have to respectfully disagree that the chair is incompetent.

    This is information that could be stored in, updated and queried in a second or two from a simple, single spreadsheet.     All he was asking, 'how many have bracelets? that's it- The public likes to know, 'how many'- not their names or any reference to their identity, just a number. Something is not right about both of these departments and those that run it.
    Sack them and get other public servants who are interested in not trying to grandstand and hide their incompetence. Tax payers money being used to employ incompetent being in an office of vital importance to the safety and protection of the citizens of Australia.

    And what happened to that Day Care sex pervert who worked in 10 fifferent Day Care centre in Brisbane of Queensland who sexual assaulted toddlers. He didn't turn up for his court hearing in 2023. His next court hearing was to be in Jan 2024. Well what happened? Where is he? Is he even in Jail. If so, how long? He should stay in prison forever. The Australian people have a right to know.
