The series most realistic tractor I have ever laid eyes on. Not the prettiest yet the most beautifully engineered tractor on thus channel yet. Lord muck this is the the queen if all Queens of agricultural machinery you have shown. The beauty in her sound her "tug" is second to none. Absolute gem of a machine

Hello Lord Muck, thank you for the Video, Sorry for my bad English I am writing with Translator.
Anton Schlüter the III (1915 - 1999) was not IH, Deere, Ford or Massey-Ferguson, In 1957, at the age of 42, he inherited a factory with a foundry and a tractor production facility as well as an estate from his father.
In the late 70's and early 80's around 30 tractors were sold to the UK, a 280hp Profi Trac 3000 was shown on a demo tour in 1980 and then returned to Germany. These tractors were never offered in the USA, Canada, New Zealand or Africa, the main sales market was Germany, exports were made to France, Yugoslavia, Austria, the Benelux countries, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.
In the late 1960s he specialized in the construction of large tractors and was the market leader in Germany for tractors over 150 DIN HP from around 1975 - 1983. In the late 1970s around 500 - 600 tractors were manufactured each year, and in 1983 BMW became interested for the foundry and there were rumors that the production of the tractors would be stopped, which was denied by Anton Schlueter, however, the number of pieces fell to only 350 tractors and in 1987 there were only about 160.
His marriage remained childless and the tractor production was his life , the company did not go bankrupt, but the systems were very outdated and sewer connection and other measures were ordered, so the factory had to be closed at the end of 1993. He therefore planned to build a new factory around 1990 at the age of 75, but this was not realized was, the production of the Eurotrac (the last Schlueter development) was transferred to Schönebeck in a former GDR tractor factory However, it was unsuccessful and only 32 of these spectacular tractors were built there.
The tractors were built from the late 70s onwards as it was only standard in the 90s, the tank was pulled up under the cab, exhaust and air filter on the sides, the cab could be tilted backwards hydraulically within minutes.
Air conditioners could also be ordered from the factory in the 70s, but were still an exotic extra in Europe. With many of these tractors it was also the case that the buyer was not the driver.
From 1980/81 40kmH gearboxes came and went In the summer of 1986, the tractors from 95 to 185 hp were offered as a high-speed version with a range of 50 km, which was rarely ordered. In 1976 the ProfiTrac 5000 was built, a 500 hp tractor. From 1980 onwards, the tractors from 165 - 280 HP were offered in 2 versions as a Super (standard with large rear tires and smaller front tires) and as a Super Trac with 4 wheels of the same size.
Due to the small numbers, the look (which comes from the French industrial designer Louis Lepoix), the large tilting cab, the ZF transmissions with the turbo coupling and the engines with the large displacement, these tractors have always been something special, even when they were new.
I took most of these facts from the excellent books by Klaus Tietgens.
    Greetings from Austria

We had many Schluters in Ex-Yugoslavia, personally i think this is the most durable tractor. In my village (Croatia) there where 4 schluters bought in early '70s,120-140hp,there where also few john deere 7020,few steyr 100-120hp from '70s ,same buffalo 130 and hercules 160...during occupacion of my village and after the Yugoslavian war, only Schluters where still working, all 4 of them! Each one of them did plow a few houndreds of ha, each year, especially during the war, with almost no any proper maintanence, because Serbia had embargo,so they didn't have acces to spare parts. None of the rest of western tractors survived.
God knows how many working hours they made...even before the war. My neighbor was one of tractor drivers in '80s and he sad that they where working in shifts day and night for up to 2 months, especially with Schluters.. And, if he was a farmer,he would buy only a Schluter, and that would be a tractor enough for a entire lifetime.

Hi Lord Muck, that Tractor is one of the beautilful tractors you ever showed so far. I've been operating exactly the same one more then 35 years ago. Schlüter was a small traktor manufactory, located near Munich, Bavaria, Germany. They produced online small numbers of units of each model. The biggest traktor they ever built was the 5000TVL (500hp) but only 3 units of that one.
I am currently restoring a 1963 MF65 together with my cousin. Still lot to do on it...

My boss and neighbour had 2 Schluters that he bought from Anton in 1972 to work on his farm in Ireland. He had placed an order a few years later for a bigger one but cancelled it in temper when one of the drivers broke something through carelessness.Because he was German himself he thought they were superior and tried to promote further sales of them in Ireland. For power and traction they would embarrass his 1300 super fiats and 1124 county. The backend was similar to a 8006 Deutz being ZF also. The cab was the earlier version with no back in it same sliding doors. The engines had a short life between rebuilds seldom both were out of the workshop. In the early 90s one was scrapped to keep the other alive. I still have the rev counter clock and brown tax book from it. The other one has remained local and will be restored sometime. A specialist used to come from Germany to carry out major work on them.Another earlier small cab less one is still in my area made before they were red with a mid mounted finger bar . It was also imported by a German that came here to farm after the war .

That you could throttle down, let it lug and then bellow back up on top without a stumble, says she's designed right. Marvelous old machine even if the cab looks like an office building stuck on top of a tractor.

Schlüter's definetly on top of the list of classics to buy (if i ever win the lottery). Schlüter closed down in December 1993, the Eurotrac was the last new model range they built.

It was also reverse drive the steering wheel and dash and seat could rotate to face rearwards and so had many extra uses

Nice to see something I don't think I will ever see in person. How that tractor pulled reminds me of my Minneapolis Moline g1050. My tractor has some flaws steering is bad, made worse when using the crude 3pt hitch that takes all the weight off the front even with just a semi-mounted plow, but when working a field she has the torque you want. Half the time you can be plowing at half throttle and speeding up the engine only makes it go a little faster.

I see it has evaporative cooling on the cab. A lot better than nothing but a long way behind AC. It’s one advantage was you could fix it yourself. I had a Massey header with water cooling on its cab, it would use easily 40 litres of water a day when it was working properly. When it wasn’t you would get a bath. AC was already basic equipment here by 1981. Jeff

If you think that's noisy, I took on the management of a large farm in Pembrokeshire and we had 2 Nuffield 4/65s with Cabcraft safety cabs . When you were flat out pulling a12ft disc harrow you could not hear yourself shouting. The cabs worked though as both tractors were rolled without damaging the cabs or drivers. 1 rolled down a steep ,almost vertical, bank wrapping a 24ft chain harrow around it. The driver scratched his hand on a bramble climbing back up the bank!

(Unfortunately never got to fix it up due to illness.) Think it originally came from the Walston farm. The hydraulic control levers were all missing and we never managed to source a replacement. I remember It would run but you got a nice fountain of oil inside the cab!!😂

I had the experience of driving a Schulter 120/125hp tractor ( six cylinder but looked more like an 80hp tractor)back in the late eighties. Seemed to be a heavy tractor and the sloping front windscreen took some getting use to. It had plenty of room in the cab and sliding doors could be pain at times(no air con,hot weather and a field on a bank.Ok going up hill with doors open but down hill the doors wouldn’t stay open!) It was fast on the road as tractors go back in those days, perhaps it was fitted with a 40kph box?
It was one of those tractors that you put into gear, set the revs, lowered your implement into the ground and it would stay there at those revs/speed whatever the ground condition, nothing bothered it! A Zetor Crystal 12011 did the same.

    • @elginsparrowhawk7203

There was also a 200hp Schulter at the same farm which when it was sold went to Holland. I don’t know what happen to the 120hp (1250 TV6 ?)one that I drove. I would like to think it’s been restored to show room condition and is still in UK but it is most likely to be the drain cover I drive past on a daily basis. Schulter tractors are still a very popular brand in Europe and keep their value.

Schluter sold up to LTS in 1996 I believe? They had the super and profi series (R series for UK) they made the eurotrac systems tractor in the 90s and didn't really take off, brilliant concept by the way. If you look for the LI-TRAC that should be some of the last engineering and use of schluter components on a tractor. The factory is now a shopping center and an early schluter resides in there.

Legendary tractors! True german brute at work. Only 4 in the UK? Wow. I was told their might be at least 1, in Canada that some guy brought over from the EU. I've always wondered why they didn't sell so "well" as i am told besides having great comfort, a good bit of options and selections & really good high HP, for the standards of the day. Oh and yeah High price... But weren't they like "Rolls Royces" of German tractors? P.s Don't forget the V12s!!! Profi-Trac 5000 (1978 only) & 8000 (1980). I really do love my USA stuff, but my love is much more for the old German and EU style outweighs it.

Hello Kyle, 4 comments below I wrote something about Schlueter that answers some of your questions. The Profi Trac 2500VL from the year of construction 1976 with the serial number 1 - 240 DIN PS on the engine (approx. 280 SAE HP) with a fixed frame and steered axles such as IHC or Case 4WD tractors (no articulated joint) was taken to Canada by a German and also returned to Germany around the year 2000, where it was also restored, meanwhile such large Schlüter are traded between €300,000 and €500,000.
I also know of a Super 1500 TVL from Great Britain, which also returned to Germany between 1995 and 1997. We ourselves once had a Super 1500 TVL when we ordered spare parts we were also asked if we had it from Great Britain, we don't know if it was ever there or just stayed in Germany, the tractor was manufactured in 1979 and only in the spring of 1984 Delivered as a new vehicle in Austria. Excuse my bad English. greetings from Austria

Never heard of them before this. While ìt was working I thought that it is a little workhorse, just keeps on going. German engineering at its finest.

We had one back in the eighties it was owned by John Watson in Ipswich . It was used on a massive home made trailer hauling sugar beet away from a Riecam RB230 harvester she never missed a beat and never got stuck

Great Machine legendary German over engineering. True grit horsepower. These old tractors will pull modern over priced to stalling anyday. I saw them working at Triplow back in the eighties. Reminds me of the old Claas Dominator 85 combine, ugly as hell, only 120 Merc horse power, noisy square headed cab with that awful water cooler that pissed water down your neck when hitting a bump on a ploughed in winter bean headland, but as tough as old boot and build like a brick toilet with superb quality steel. just like K98 snipers rifle!

Schlüter sold most of the big ones over 250 horse to jugoslawia . when the war started in juguslawia this marked broke down. Thats one reason , then ZF stoped producing the large powershift the 2500 and above had so schlüter had to build their own one , ended in the 9 speed elektric full powershift , they used it in the Supertronic types . but to figure out and build was expensive for schlüter.

Yes there where a nice number of Schluter tractors in ex-Yu. In my village (eastern Croatia),4 where bought brand new in early '70s,120-140hp. They where working hard up to late '90s..often 2 months, in 2 shifts day/night..
