Love the vid I'm 13 years old and I think more people my age need to appreciate these lovely old machines and get their hands dirty. you should have got the head of the matador skimmed ported and flowed 🤣
Somebody give this kid a prize. Getting your hands dirty, problem solving and spending time with your buddies fixing stuff will be some of the best times in your life.
You will go far with this kind of attitude. I was hand porting mini cylinder heads at your age. I wish I'd kept at it, but became to busy working on injection mould tooling and then started my own business. I'm hoping to get back to it in the next few years.
Rant against wimps? Check Talking shit? Check Glorious old Matador? Check Smoke to piss off greta and the tree huggers? Double check 10/10, would definitely watch again 😂
JUST DISCOVERED YOUR WONDERFUL VIDEOS, WE RAN AEC's IN 60's AND 70's ON LONG DISTANCE HAULAGE, WALES TWICE WEEKLY EVEN AT 20 YEARS OLD, ROLL ROYCE OF TRUCKS BUT ALLWAYS FILLED THE YARD WITH SMOKE BUT HERE WE ARE TODAY.
Always loved AEC vehicles. Always wanted to see an AEC enginge, such as the AV 470 or AV 590 outside the vehicle turn over, fire up and rev up just for the sheer hell of it. They were great in buses and trucks. Nice little video.
Great opening comments sir!!! I give you a big salute for those LOL! Excellent video, bet it was fun driving that rig through the country, I get the feeling you really enjoyed making this vid, Thanks!!!
Love the enthusiasm and the skills bringing an old engine back to life. Also like the way the guys talk to you and not at you!. Need a fifty something apprentice?. 🙂
love your rant about the goodie goodies well done never get anything done with health and safety only thing better than diesel fumes is 2 stroke love the video
Hi it was great seeing you driving the Matador. It gave me goosebumps when you got that engine running. I was towed back from Wellingborough to Goudhurst ib Kent. That took nearly 8 hours todo.
I was just about to suggest that you not bother to address your critics, but then I watched how you did it. Bloody love it. Top class. Well done. This is my first time watching your channel and I instantly became a fan. Far too many channels are pandering to their own comments section, it needs to stop really. Giving those armchair "experts" time is just contributing to the problem. They are best ignored. Or, as you did, told to F___ OFF in no uncertain terms. Brilliant.
Bang on Gents! Just found your channel this evening. Mainly because I want a mat timber tractor, much to the wife’s dismay. Although she also ended up watching, laughed and said “I like him”. You may have just fought me corner for me!!!
Nothing wrong with a bit of smoke. We drove a truck 400km getting about 10 km per liter of oil the army would have wished for the smoke screen we made. Loved the comment about snow flakes.
Worked on Brill Coaches which had an AEC horizontally mounted engine under the bus. What a job creator they were. The stunk bad and had no power. Liking your vids from Alberta Canada
I've got two LDV Convoy,400,Sherpas i used to move myself to Sweden with, both with the Peugeot engines in,one turbo, one non turbo, good old busses, always start and chug along forever.
Another great and very interesting video. The drive out in the Matador excellent, the pep talk at the beginning still falling on deaf ears. Should have a caption at the end of video " No humans were hurt or injured in the making of the video"
Nice to see these old engines back up and running . Weather getting better ,so time the restart the projects , starting with the JCB 2D . keep up the good work .
When I worked on the building sites, we used to get picked up in a Sherpa - I HATE those bloody things. It's like putting wheels on a washing machine !
As usual I'm behind love what you're doing to save these lovely old vehicles as a young fella was given for Christmas said matador six wheeler and field gun as a result always had a soft spot for them keep up the hard work it is worth it
Thanks for the video, at least you finally got that engine figured out and it runs nice, I got a 1060 Nuffeild engine here for a customer, It ran nice for some reason but it's a mess inside ! I really hate that when guys have been in some thing screwing settings up. Belarus's are a good one when it don't work, so they mess with stuff and make it worse if there is a such a thing on them lol. Then you get to fix 2 problems "the original one that stopped it and the new one they created thats now hidden the first issue". The best guys are the ones that then try to tell you how to fix it. There has been more than one told, well you didn't "f" it up just to call me out to see if I knew how to fix it did you. They don't generally stand round long watching or voicing opinions after that comment !. No questions here, I'm sure you'll get plenty of interesting ones ! Take care.
Love the no tightnes bit (apart from the wallet ) and throwing the easy start as the engine outside cranking pmsl lv u mate keep up good work LM and team
Love the smell of diesel fumes in the morning, another great video, Glad to see another fine piece of British engineering lives again, looks like Matt and his crew do a great job of restoring them.
8:59 love that gauge panel, 3 gauges are all anybody really needs. Making obsolete parts for people's restorations is the fun part of my job. Last one was putting a Grey Marine cylinder head back together that was broke like a China plate.
Loved the eulogy to the twats, you don't need cosby juice with those farts. Driving the matador reminded me of my early days as a retained fireman driving Dennis f26 with rolls Royce 8cylinder petrol the whine in the cab couldn't hear a thing but engine.

Love the enthusiasm and the skills bringing an old engine back to life. Also like the way the guys talk to you and not at you!. Need a fifty something apprentice?. 🙂
I think a lot of it is because we WANT to do it rather than HAVE to do it.
We might do a couple of 'open days' for folk to join in.
A neighbour had a Matador, he called it a timber truck, I remember it had the mother of all winches on it. Glad you got it running.
I just saw the picture of grumpy Thunberg ! Brilliant.
This is the first of your videos that I've seen, and I subscribed as soon as you had finished your introduction - can't wait to see more 😀
Mucker that was fantastic to see you driving the matador it is over 30 years since i drove one with a winch and jib on

I’ll say it for you...........’Run the titles’!!!! Great as usual 👌🏻
The Human exhaust is more likely kill somebody before the engine exhaust
As Mustie is prone to quip: "...a little more choke and that would have started..."
What a skilled ol' boy, great there's folk like you lads keeping these machines alive by making new bits. Matt's shed looks like a cracking place too!
Worked on Brill Coaches which had an AEC horizontally mounted engine under the bus. What a job creator they were. The stunk bad and had no power. Liking your vids from Alberta Canada
Smashing, found a new home!
My Dad drove these and Queen Mary's. Regards..
